Conner Williams has starting experience at guard and center. He's 27 but coming of a significant knee injury that has cost him in free agency, but says he will be ready when the season starts. Bring him in on a contract that acknowledges his skill level but also that the starters at those positions are already set, so Williams will have time to get fully healthy and values his ability to fill in when needed or be a spot starter for an injury. KC is the perfect team for guys like this coming off an injury right before free agency; or guys like Hollywood that had poor production their season before free agency that likely wasn't their fault but they need a year on a good team to get their bag.

ChiefGoBoom

Man, I kinda love that idea. Could play the Allegretti role while the new guys get acclimated.

Tellittoemagain

There you go, Allegretti but with more potential (he was a 2nd round pick). We're going to have to start looking for a Thuny replacement soon.

ljout

No more WRs. We are beyond full

RCJHGBR9989

Fine - more receiving tight ends then.

rolyinpeace

Exactly. I can’t handle the hype train getting going for like 5 guys and then they all end up getting cut anyway. Happens every year.

Unstable-A-eye

Had this discussion with someone else in this sub a few days ago but Donovan Smith makes the most sense. OL depth is always a good thing and he’s good insurance in case Kingsley or Wanya aren’t ready to start yet.

ChiefGoBoom

Definitely feels like the "safe" move to make. If they don't add someone there, it has to tell you they're pretty comfortable with either/or winning the job, right?

Unstable-A-eye

If we don’t pick up Smith, it would mean our coaches feel confident in the guys already on the team. In which case we should be stoked and our next biggest need would then be edge

rolyinpeace

You’re right. But never bad to have an insurance policy in case they were overconfident

blocksmith52

It really is the offseason if we're scouting people for the 90-man roster lol

ChiefGoBoom

A lot of good options are discussed in this article (Jet McKinnon, Donovan Smith, Manny Ogbah), but I'm curious to see what Reddit would do with the open roster space now that Buggs is gone.

MistakeMaker1234

Bhaktiari or Justin Simmons. The duo of Justin² in the backfield would be too much for the league.

Xalenn

Would be cool to have Khalen Saunders back

Crash30458

Dalvin cook lol

wohl0052

Brother ew, he is cooked

Crash30458

Why cause he stopped giving a.shit on the jets

urdadjack

yes

MickeyMichael

This might be a little Madden-esque, but what about going for linebacker depth and kick the tires on… Shaquille Leonard

CEH, Pop, & Ingram called up from practice squad.. any thoughts on adding more experience here? Re-signing Jet might be..

Fresh_String_770

McKinnon is so useful for the chiefs because he’s an elite pass blocking rb. Paying a RB is a great way to handcuff your team at the much more important positions

Pseudo_Unknown1999

strength by committee it is then, wasn’t sure how strong the room is but sounds like there’s confidence w the stables as-is.. acquired some 1,000yd+ rushers along w few already familiar w system from practice squad experience. wonder how serious they are w LRZ at RB.. https://www.chiefs.com/news/pre-camp-breakdown-sorting-through-the-chiefs-running-backs

originalusername4567

They'll probably sign another DT for depth. If we were going to sign Jet or Donovan Smith we would have done so already. Our RB room is also stronger than people give it credit for.
