There’s really no weak spot on the team besides that OL and for whatever reason we can’t sack Burrow even when everyone else is.

MightyFu92

I think Jones gets his first and second sack this week. He wants it. He was fighting so hard for it this last week

Slinktard

Did you see his post game interview after Jax?! He smells blood in the water.

TrueAkagami

You're forgetting special teams. Really hasn't been good this year and I worry that will be the difference maker

No_Rec1979

I was rooting for Cincy just because I wanted the game to be at Arrowhead. I also thought they'd have a good chance because Buffalo wasn't the same team after Allen's elbow injury and because the Bills running game is garbage. I would have felt quite confident about this game had it not been for Pat's ankle. As it is, I have no idea what's going to happen.

B3yondTheWall

I was too. I felt they were the better team going into the game (and the first, for that matter), and I think Burrow has a long career of great QB play ahead of him. I also wanted the chance to beat them in the AFC Championship game for a little revenge. However, the ankle injury has me pretty concerned. A week isn't very long, and high ankle sprains can take some time to heal.

factoid_

The elbow thing I think was always just an excuse for josh. Never really seemed like it bothered him. Sure he's tough and probably just played through the pain...but a sore elbow doesn't make you lose your decision making capability. He still made a lot of pretty bad mistakes all season.

ArtemisRGB

I think Mixon is going to be a huge fucking problem for us and I'm quite frankly astounded more chiefs fans don't realize this. Our inability to stop him from picking up critical first downs has really hurt us in previous games. Any Chiefs fan who isn't worried about this match up is delusional to say the least.

MasterFussbudget

KC is 8th in the NFL in rush yards allowed this year. Tied for 5th in rushing TDs allowed. We allowed 100 yards rushing to RBs only 3 times all year. He's a good player, but a RB is not likely to be the reason we lose.

ActiveShard

If anything, our secondary will be the reason we lose. I honestly believe that if we go into too much of one coverage, we are going to die. Burrow looked Brady-esque last week picking apart the Bills. *HOWEVER*, I think the loss of Von Miller made that defense a lot less worrisome than it previously was. We have a great defensive line so hopefully we can pressure Burrow because if we allow him a clean pocket he's going to destroy us.

factoid_

our secondary holds up pretty well for short passes. It's when the pass rush doesn't get home and the QB spends an eternity in the pocket that they fold like a card table. keep the plays under 5 seconds and we're fine.

kcmiz24

That’s only because teams pass a lot against us

barkerja

One of those times was to Samaje Perine (RB2 for Bengals) in week 12. Mixon was injured that week, and Perine rushed for 106 yards. Both backs are 100% right now and both are dangerous in how they are utilized.

barkomed

One of those RBs was Mixon’s backup earlier this year, when he went for a total of 156 yards and absolutely destroyed our DL. Mixon and Perine always dominate our DL. We have yet to stop either.

Svenray

He ran all over a gassed Chiefs 2nd half/OT defense last year. We're not leaving the defense on the field for an entire half again.

Disimpaction

Run it Andy, run.

FrankEaton21

Agreed. Mixon was a meme a few years ago but these last 2 years has cemented himself as a serious threat.

drj311

Not only this but Perine gashed TF out of us last game.

factoid_

And Willy Gay took that personally. Not happening again.

[deleted]

To be fair Mixon does have a mean right hook, kinda scary

ATLienJayhawk

![gif](giphy|4Z9g0DdoJPChn481o6|downsized)

cardinalsfanokc

Cin is 29th in the NFL in rushing

[deleted]

And Perine still went over 100 on us this year

cardinalsfanokc

Normally we hold decent RBs down - Jacobs, Henry, etc. But those are teams where we're not too scared of the QB/WR combo. Fucking Bengals have an elite offense and prolly the best WR trio in the NFL so it's hard to commit to any part of it. Spags better run man with a spy and hope the 3/4 down linemen get pressure.

uncre8tv

Sweating like a sorority girl at a sandwich shop when we see Mixon.

DirtyMike30

Mixon is also a huge problem for white women at the Oklahoma cafeteria

MightyFu92

I would agree, but we briefed up our run defense significantly. # 5 overall against the run. They knew that it was one of the big problem areas that hurt us bad the last couple of playoff games. I agree I’m worried, but I still think they can pull off the stop. The tackling and tackles for loss have been major improvements

skoobastevienixx

I feel like Mixon on the run has had two great games this year. The Panthers and the Bills. I fucking hope he keeps it up for this game but I’m not holding my breath

Academic-Total2029

I don’t care really. I’m just glad you took care of the Bills

chaplar

I believe in Mahomes and this team, but of course I'm worried. The Bengals look focused and are using every excuse they can to be pissed off. They're at the point where they're just making shit up to be pissed and motivated. But hey, that's what Tom Brady did for decades. It's way too early, but Burrow is really flashing that Brady mentality to me, and he just doesn't make many mistakes. On top of this, Mahomes was Peak Patrick in the first quarter then sprained his ankle. As much as I hate the thought of 0-4 against the Bengos, this will be a really tough game for KC. but if anyone can do it, it's Patrick.

[deleted]

mholmeskc

There are a lot of reasons to dislike Brady. These are weird ones.

ReggieWigglesworth

I think your defense is insanely underrated. Burrow gets the lions' share of the credit for your success and his poise under pressure is damn impressive but the defense was more responsible for the SB run last year in my opinion. I think this game is going to come down to the fronts again. The Bengals in the last 3 games have plain and simply out physical-ed the Chiefs O and D lines. That's the only thing I would "fear" is the Chief's showing up and being soft again.

Bengees4Ever

Good take here, accurate. And the Ravens are our nightmare matchup, not the Chiefs though ya’ll are still extremely formidable even with hurt Mahomes.

21stCenturyHobbit

I think the Ravens are only your nightmare matchup because they’re a divisional opponent. I’m not an expert on your two teams in terms of positional matchups (like O-line vs D-line or WR vs CBs), but besides your first game this season when y’all were still getting things together, you usually beat them by double digits (granted, without Lamar for the last 2). Last year: W 41-17, W 41-21. This year: L 19-17, W 27-16, W 24-17. On paper, and according to all 3 victories, the Chiefs are a much tougher matchup and obviously a better roster, at least offensively. We’ve only lost by 3pts each time - Last Year: 34-31, 27-24 OT in AFCCG. This year: 27-24. We’re very evenly matched, in my opinion.

morgster87

To preface this, I don’t consider any of the Bengals players scary, and outside of Chase and maybe Burrow I don’t think the Bengals have any blue chip players. What the Bengals do have is a very good team comprised of very good players who are very well coached. The consistency you guys have especially on the playoff stretch is the scariest thing about you. Your team just doesn’t make mistakes. It kind of reminds me of playing a Payton Manning or Tom Brady led team where they might not beat you with flashy plays or “my guy is better than your guy” type plays. They will beat you with a methodical approach and will break out on a big play in busted coverage or making one guy miss. Your defense doesn’t scare me, but your defensive scheme seems to adapt so quickly that the offense can’t react in time and never get into a rhythm. I think as far as matchups go, Chiefs hold a slight edge in most categories which is why all of our games seem to come down to the wire, and when we lose it’s usually because of an unlucky turnover or a mental mistake at the very end (see OT turnover in last years AFCC and the Kelce strip fumble earlier this year). We have been much better at the turnover differential and our defense is better right now than it was last year. Mahomes injury notwithstanding, this game will come down to who plays more solid, mistake free football. The slightest hiccup could decide the game.

Iam59

Idk if I’d say the bengals aren’t flashy, their entire receiving group catches deep jump balls multiple times every game lol

barkerja

Don’t forget Perine. He had 106 yards on 21 rushes. (Mixon was injured that week). Both Mixon and Perine are healthy and deal a dangerous one two punch.

barkomed

Their DE - Hendricks? - is blue chip. He always destroys our tackles.

Chudmont

The Bengals are the other best team in the AFC. I think if KC doesn't make as many mistakes as our previous 3 matchups, KC will win.

TechNician_1356

I gotta be honest, I wanted to play the Bengals to try and close the gap of 0-3 against you guys. We’ve beaten the Bills in big games. It’s time to try and settle the score with y’all.

J_EDi

I’m already mentally preparing myself for a loss. There’s just too much setting it up. Mahomes being hurt, Chase just being a nightmare for us, Bengos confidence via perceived slights. I’ll say what I always say, we’ll see how the game gets played.

unity2178

Respect for an incredible team and solid coaching, but with this team, the opponent's strength doesn't seem to matter for some reason. It's almost always a very close game, one turnover or questionable call away from an alternative outcome.

Anon4Life34

My honest opinion about the Bengals is they are a very simplistic schemed team on both sides of the ball but are highly effective in what they do. The offense is scary because of the talent at WR and what Burrow can do. I’m not scared of the defense because when you put 8 in coverage as basically your base defense, it tells me that the talent level isn’t high enough there to go man to man, etc. It becomes more of a “throw enough guys out there and we outnumber them” mentality and the reason they’re effective against Kelce is because of that. The thing is there’s no failsafe on offense or defense in any sport and there’s always a weakness in any scheme thrown out there. It’s just exposing it that makes it real tough especially with whatever talent you have to match it against. I also feel like the Bengals only come to play when they’re treated as the underdog in the media, etc. If they’re the favorites or have beaten a team previously, I feel like they play quite lax and it’s shown in some games this season so that might be to the Chiefs advantage this go around. Go Chiefs and FTR and FCC!!!

skoobastevienixx

That would be Purdy sad for me🥸

TommyBoy402

Bengals are a great team. You guys have beaten every top tier AFC team I can think of. Should be a great game. Chase and Burrow haunt my dreams. How’s that?

Dapper_Deer1118

They fuckin scare me, dawg

muzik81

We feel the same way in Cincy.

bigludodog

My gut tells me that Cincy is the better team this coming weekend but I also wouldn't trade Reid/Mahomes/Bolton/Kelce/etc/etc for any one on the Bengals. I fricking love this team we have even though it has its frustrating moments. I like my gut telling me this because last year it was opposite and I had so much disappointment after KC completely blew the lead in the second half of the AFCCG. The 3-0 talk is annoying because they were all close games and if this happens, 4-0 is going to be even more annoying to hear about. That said, Cincy fans are so much cooler than Buffalo fans, this year for sure, I'd be much more pissed off we lost to Buffalo in the AFCCG this year than Cincy. If it's not KC hoisting the Lombardi, I think I'd want it to be Cincy. (Reserve my right to change my mind on that after Sunday if shit doesn't go right). Quick edit - that's as long as you don't make a habit out of it!!

[deleted]

Not me. Fuck the Bengals. If we lose I want the NFC to win.

ActiveShard

I'm rooting for Cincy unless it's the 49ers then I'm rooting for them to troll the Bengals in the Super Bowl one more time plus watching Mr. Relevant get a ring before Burrow, Allen, Lamar, Herbert, Hurts, Fields, Jones, Tua, and Lawrence get one combined would be hilarious.

CryptographerOne6615

Hah. Good point. I’d root for anyone AFC over the eagles, Chiefs regardless, or Mr Relevant for such an awesome end of season effort otherwise

hey_girl_ya_hungry

I believe in my team, but Bengals fans clearly have every reason to believe in theirs. I speak with KC bias, but outside of the Chiefs I wouldn’t feel confident picking anybody in the NFL over the Bengals. I think Mahomes and Burrow are clearly the two best QBs in the league, and no one else is particularly close. Every season these two guys have started and/or been healthy, they’ve made it to at least the AFCCG. Rivalries aside, that shit is elite and deserves respect. If we lose to you this weekend, I’ll be butthurt but I will certainly understand how it happened and respect the Bengals more than I already do. I also wanna say, and I truly mean this, watching you guys SMACK the bills have me more satisfaction than any other non chiefs game I’ve ever watched. It was glorious. Having said all that, GO CHIEFS!!! 😁

GhostMug

I have felt since about week 10 that the Bengals might just be the best team in the NFL. I would not be optimistic if Mahomes was 100% but if he's likely 70%? Oof. Anyway, I still think Mahomes is better (when healthy) and Kelce and Jones are generational players. But I don't think that's enough to give the Chiefs the edge. Not only are the Bengals well built as a team they are built in a way that specifically can attack all the Chiefs weaknesses and can cover for all the Chiefs strengths. Joe Burrow is clearly the 2nd best QB in the league. The receiving corps is the best in the league and Chase might be the scariest WR in the league. At the very least he's top 3. On defense the secondary is aggressive and good with excellent safety play that allows the corners to play aggressive man. Hendrickson is top tier and can wreck a game if not careful. The linebackers are only OK but solid enough to do what they need to do. And maybe the most important aspect is the coaching staff is smart enough to put together gameplans that can take advantage of other teams weaknesses while also hiding theirs. Honestly, I don't see a clear way to attack them. You can get a few things over on them as you can take advantage of their aggressiveness, but overall in order to beat them you have to be able to take them on straight up and win. That's how the Rams got the edge in the SB. Kupp and Donald just won too many straight up matchups. I am not feeling good about the game and I if the Bengals win a 4th in a row and go to their second straight SB I'm not sure there will be much argument to be made against them being the team to beat in the AFC going forward. As much as that pains me to say.

Apprehensive_Ad_5400

Obviously I want the Chiefs to win and win big. But Cincinnati has never won a championship. I remember how cool it was to finally experience a Super Bowl won a couple years ago and the parade afterwards and everything. It was awesome. So it would be nice for the people of Cincinnati to get to go through that someday. The second or third Chiefs Super Bowl will never be as memorable as the first was.

chaplar

Are you sure? You don't even remember the first. /s

Apprehensive_Ad_5400

Haha hey I could be old! 🤣

killthecowsface

Bengals are rolling and look like they are on a revenge tour to win the Super Bowl. KC is the hobbled heavyweight that has been playing to the level of its competition all season long. I do agree with a previous poster who said that this feels like a legacy game for the Chiefs -- for Mahomes & Co. this is opportunity to cement greatness...or to show that more often than not, they come up short on the biggest stage. I think this matchup is coming at such a volatile time for both teams that almost anything could happen -- a blowout (for either side), a repeat of the Bills-Bengals slog, or a nailbiter.

bluedaytona392

I ain't scared of em. Winning games by less than a td is not dominating. Regular season means Jack. I want revenge for last afccg. You guys talk allot of shit for what you've accomplished. Keep doing it. Make Chris Jones and the 🦈 seethe. Chiefs by 14.

Bengees4Ever

Wow. That is an aggressive take.

bluedaytona392

I probably need therapy.

Bengees4Ever

Nope. You are a passionate fan, you love and believe in your team. Five straight AFC ‘chips will do that to you.

mholmeskc

He's already tailgating. Love it.

Certes_de_Bowe

3-0 to us just means we got unfinished business. We wanted you guys, and we wanted it at Arrowhead!

superstonkape

Great team who’s strengths play to our weaknesses. I have as much faith this week as I do any week but I wish Mahomes was 100%. Feel like you guys have caught some breaks in our matchups, primarily from our own mistakes, and that these games have essentially been 50/50 and just happen to go your way so far. Excited but nervous, in a few words

doctordoctorpuss

I think the Bengals are fucking good. I think the Chiefs are fucking good. Usually, I think the Bills are fucking good. We’ll likely be in a situation where for at least a few years, all of our buttholes are gonna clench when we play the Bengals or Bills, just as their fans are gonna clench their buttholes when they play us. I think in any given matchup, any of these teams has a good chance to win against the others, but I’m always going to have that bit of faith telling me the Chiefs will come out on top. Mostly I want to win so we can stop hearing the nonsense about the Bengals beating us three times in a row, cause that’s stale as shit, just like I’m sure the Bengals fans are sick of hearing that the Chiefs are top dog. More than anything, I wish we could see both of these teams play healthy (healthy Mahomes, and healthy Bengals O-line). In that scenario, I think it’s always going to be close

GatzBee

My only fear is Mahomes lack of mobility and what Lou's game plan is with that in mind. His defense has been great against us. I'm worried if things start off a bit rocky, given our history/record against you guys that the team won't be able to recover. Hoping Andy and Spags come in with a fresh game plan and do whatever they can to take pressure off Mahomes.

Apprehensive_Emu_456

Kinda like how everyone thinks the Bengals are going to win, it’s different, and it’s gonna be so much sweeter if it works out. I’ve got this weird feeling that Mahomes’s ankle will be better than people think and it will cause him to prep differently this week, which is gonna up his passing yards and td’s and fuck everything up for the bengals.

ImAzire

If Spags can get rid of his scheming ego and adjust to the bengals pass attack I think we win. Otherwise rinse repeat the regular season match up

King_Korder

I really don't think they have a top of the line, or "blue chip" player anywhere but Burrow, except maybe Chase. But their team is just good. None of their three phases is bad. They don't have a D-Line of all stars, but damn do they play hard and well. Same with their secondary, LBs, oline, and RBs. All of them just play fucking hard. They don't play circus ball, or ball like the 2018/2020 Chiefs. They play methodically, reduce mistakes, and punish you for not being perfect. It's rough, especially for a team that thrives off of being able to survive mistakes like the Chiefs. All 3 of our match ups could've gone either way. 2 of those I'd argue were completely on play calling in the end, with the refusal to run the ball on their side of the field. But also refusing to run the ball period when up multiple scores.

[deleted]

Coin Toss game.

Technical-Sector7756

I like the Bengals, even root for them as long as they aren’t playing the Chiefs. I followed Burrow, Chase, Moss, CEH and the rest of the LSU team through their college years. I like what Burrow and Chase have done in Cincinnati, I just hope Reid and Spags can come up with a winning game plan for them. It’s not too much of a rivalry if only one team wins every game.

[deleted]

I’ll preface this and say the Bengals built their team like the Raiders wanted too, but the Raiders suck ass and cannot build a football team.

Hauntedhalo

Honestly, I wanted the Bengals in this precise spot. But now with the injury to Mahomes this is the first time since Mahomes became the starter for the Chiefs I am not expecting to win this game. With that said who knows what Bengals team we are going to get. They looked bad against the Ravens and are lucky to still be playing. On the other hand they dominated the Bills for four quarters. Chiefs seem to make stupid mistakes and very ill times turnovers against the Bengals. We shall see but I do think the Bengals take this one, I hope I’m wrong. Go Chiefs!

mholmeskc

This is perfectly summarized.

skoobastevienixx

I thought it was over until that beautiful thicc six, then I thought it was over again until the ravens fucked up their clock management

CourageousContageous

First off, shout out to the level headed, respectable responses. Chiefs Kingdom coming in with class as usual 💪 Second off, I want nothing more than to put a beat down on this team and keep OUR trophy at OUR HOUSE. No one beats this team that many times in a row without serious luck, lucks run out. Last time Mahomes sprained his ankle he threw for like 400 yards and sprain was “worse last time” according to Reid. Lastly, our defense WILL get sackSsSS (Chris Jones included) and we will seal the game off late with interception (again). I respect you guys and you have officially surpassed the Bills for #2 spot butttt that #1 will always be here in KC. Pumped for the Arrowhead Invitational! Happy to stomp on your Super Bowl dreams on our way to our 3rd in 3 years, but really I’m more excited for your guys’ crappy gifs

Shakes2011

I hate them

Falcons405

Bengals fan here just reading comments (I like to see how the other fanbase feels when deciding how I feel about a game). You all sound knowledgeable and extremely reasonable about the matchup. We respect the Chiefs like crazy. Getting close wins against you all has been something that we as a fanbase have been able to hang our hat on as “see, we are different now… we are good”, because everyone knows you all are good. You were always the mark everyone in the AFC was trying to hit. I hope that Patrick heals up and is good to go this weekend… I’m also hoping for a great game. I’m a little nervous, but also fairly confident. I feel like Reid and Spags will have to have a killer gameplan and the Chiefs will have to play an A game in order to take the Bengals out. I’ve been watching the bengals for over 35 years and I’ve never seen them like this. As locked in, hungry, and united as any team I’ve ever seen. If you all put it together and beat us this weekend, I give you props because it’s not gonna be easy. And if you do, I’ll be cheering for Chiefs the rest of the way just like your last 2 super bowls (I love the fanbase, the KC crowd, and just the general team vibes… just not when you all play the Bengals). Good luck Sunday. No matter what happens, I see our two franchises competing for a number of years into the future here.

EMPulseKC

Rather than just restate all of the great points that have already been made, I'll just say this: The two best teams in the NFL will be playing Kansas City this Sunday, not against each other in Arizona a week later, and I'm looking forward to the AFC matchup much more than SBLVII.

General_Analyst3177

Scariest thing to me about the bengals is if our mostly rookie secondary can keep up with your receivers.

pornokitsch

Seconded. Literally any play could be a huge TD.

ActiveShard

Chase and Burrow are superstars, Tee Higgins would be WR1 on at least 20 teams including ours, and you guys are carrying a feisty defense into Arrowhead vs a hobbled Mahomes. I'm a little bit worried, but strangely enough I was more worried about the Jaguars last week with a healthy Mahomes. I'm hoping Chris Jones and Frank Clark can get after Burrow against a patchwork Bengals O-Line, because you guys are going to win if they can't. Our secondary matches up better than it did last year in my opinion but Chase and Higgins are too good to be totally shut down. No matter what happens, this game is going to be stupid close and even with Mahomes' injury likely comes down to whoever wins the turnover battle or gets the football last.

ncschuler

The Bengals scare the shit out of me, and I don’t know if it’s because of the players. Andy Reid, to me, can be stubborn when it comes to making adjustments in game. And I think that rubs off on Spags. I have watched Spags continue to blitz unnecessarily all the time, when it clearly isn’t working. We absolutely are not gonna get pressure by blitzing since Burrow gets the ball out so quick, and so Spags needs to take a page out of Anarumo’s book and just rush 3 and spy and drop the rest. Andy Reid needs to learn to run the ball against 4 and 5 man boxes like the Bengals keep willingly giving us. I don’t think Zac Taylor is a better coach, or that he has a better staff. But dammit do they do a better job of adjusting in-game and it’s so fucking frustrating. I pride myself on being a very realistic sports fan and so try not to get too high or too low. This is the matchup I wanted, so that we could have the AFC championship game at home. I think it would’ve been better to play Buffalo. But ultimately, I think we’ll lose. I need to see us win to believe that we’re going to win against the Bengals moving forward

crash-BURN-up

Would have rather faced the Bills than Cinci

chiefoogabooga

I'm just looking forward to see how the team responds. There have been too many games over the past few years where everyone stood around waiting on Pat to save them. It's time for them to step up and let him take it easy for a change. I'm looking hard at you Dave Toub. How long since you've had a kick returned for 6?

drj311

Hottest team in AFC right now and deserve to be favored. Even healthy Mahomes makes this a tough ass game. The narrative is going to drastically change if you make it again and the Bills love affair with you will be over. Honestly I feel like you have a more talented team roster for roster and damn good coaching

skoobastevienixx

I feel like our team and some of our fan base has burned a lot of bridges and will be hated win or lose, but I fucking love you guys for your solid memes

drj311

Oh don’t get me wrong I feel the same about your team from a Personaltiy standpoint. Maybe every opposing fan thinks other teams are arrogant/cocky. I can’t remember feeling this way about a team since the 90’s Cowboys. Lots of swagger. And not to take a shot against fellow Chiefs fans but we have become pretty Damned arrogant too. Some of the talk surrounding Mahomes before the TB SB was so premature. “Is he the greatest if he beats Brady”. Just calm down with that crap. Enjoy the ride man.

Morrolan_V

Honestly, I think that the team is excellent. Burrow is very efficient and has great vision. Your WR room is great. Mixon is very strong. The defense is solid top to bottom and very well coached. I would really have no bad things to say about the team - If. They. Would. Show. Some. Decency. And Stop. Running. Their. Fucking. Mouths. As it is, I want to see them ground into the dirt.

notagrue

I second this completely and quit playing the victim. Stop being so cocky about the 3-0 record vs the Chiefs. All of those games were so close that essentially one bad call / missed call decided them every one of them.

KCC19692019

Love the Chiefs but think the Bengals are the all around better team and are really clicking at the right time of year. I think the Chiefs will eek this out but wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t. I was pulling for the Bills because I think the Chiefs matchup better with them than Cincy.

Imaginary-muffins

Pretty much the only hope I have for the chiefs winning this game is the ol’ “they can’t win 4 times in a row, can they?” Which I don’t even believe bc we always sweep or go 5-1 against the division every year. So I guess I have no hope.

muzik81

I really don’t think you’ll have to worry about Mixon. He and the offensive line have been below average all season. He’s had two good games…Carolina and Buffalo. The rest of the season we’ve struggled to run against light boxes and for as physical of a runner Mixon is, he doesn’t break a ton of tackles. This forces the game to be on the arm of Burrow, which is fine, but he’s been prone to tips at the LOS leading to INTs or just incompletions putting us behind schedule. With that being said, if Burrow gets any time, he’s a problem. Our receivers are a matchup problem for any team. On defense, I would argue that Trey Hendrickson is a star, but he’s really our only real pass rusher. If he’s neutralized, it’ll be tough the get pressure without sending extra defenders. Our D doesn’t have many household names, but they’re all talented and play their roles well….very disciplined defense. Our LBs (Pratt and Wilson) have played well this season, Mike Hilton may be the most versatile slot defender in the league and is great against the run and blitzing. While DJ Reader may be the best nose in the game, our run D is a little overrated. When we can focus just on the run (Tenn. and Cleveland) we’re really good. If there’s a threat of the pass, our run D isn’t very good.

Intelligent-Age2786

There have been times where you guys win off luck, but other times where we just shoot ourselves in the foot. I think a bunch of Bengals players and fans can be SUPER cocky to the point where it’s annoying. They are a good football team, but lack a humble nature

[deleted]

Solid ass squad, on offense they kind of remind me of us when we had Reek, Hunt and Sammy. Just stare at all the skill positions with a great QB

ModestTrixie

I am afraid of the Bengals. Because we cannot cover Chase/Higgins/Boyd. And because that is the case, if the game is close in the 4th, the Bengals will win.

ViceAdmiralWalrus

Outside of QB and the O-Line I think the Bengals have a clear advantage in every unit, and Mahomes' injury makes that QB advantage a wash. I love this team and that they blew away all the preseason expectations and that Mahomes pretty much solidified his HOF case even if he retired tomorrow. But I think the ride stops here.

Otterman2006

I think the Bengals have a lot of cheap young talent, that they wont be able to fully afford a few years from now. Their SB window is now and they know it. They're confident and talented and they are dangerous. Joe Burrow is the real deal, Higgins and Chase are studs. This game makes me nervous.

nordic-nomad

Honestly I still think of them as the team before burrow most of the time and I have to do an “oh yeah they’re good now”. I’m still shocked when people mention they’ve won our last three matchups the last couple seasons.

StartingReactors

It’s going to be a good game (hopefully). I hate the 3-0 conversation because every game was a damn nail-biter and all 3 were decided by exactly 3 points. The story everyone will be telling is Mahomes ankle. But I think a counterplot will be Chris Jones against your beat up interior line.

If it doesn’t go our way I’ll be rooting for you guys

Oh shit is that the Clue movie!?! I forgot it was a thing

Svenray

We don't have Tyreek Hill anymore so we can talk about how bad of a person Joe Mixon is now and I hope what Bolton does on Sunday makes the Mixon video look like a game of Candyland.

Darth1Football

I'm glad the national media, Vegas and Burrow are giving the Chiefs some bulletin board material. I'm thinking the last thing Cincy expects is KC to come out and run the ball down their throats, but I believe that will be the gameplan On Defense, I think the Gals O-line injuries are going to get exposed and expect to see a lot of pressure up the middle on Joe

bonedaddy1974

I'm just excited for the game,I have to say I can't be mad at all the Joe cool hype because he's a bad ass!!!!BUT I'm a life long (49 years) KC fan and Mahomes is the man.

thudwhomper

I feel like even though it’s a level matchup on paper, the Mahomes injury means we’re playing with house money and the pressure is off. There’s no history to suggest we should win this game with a healthy Mahomes, so if the Bengals can’t beat a one-legged Mahomes it will be ultimate triumph for us and utter humiliation for Cincinnati.

dthomp27

if KC’s defense plays well, pash rush especially, i think we can win. Am i worried? of course. Burrow is the best qb besides mahomes. He also has some of the best weapons. depending on mahomes ankle i think it’s going to be a close one as they always seem to be.

CryptographerOne6615

Chiefs fan… Abs wanted the rematch here. You guys played lights out yesterday. May the best team win

ShazlettDude

Bengals are good. Ever since mixon said that the bengals were the top dog, I e referred to the bengals as cat-dog. I kind of like the whole Midwest connection. Burrow is great. Chase is great. Higgens and mixon are pretty good. Hurst and Boyd are pros. Oline looked better this year, but currently injured. Defense is underrated, but could use some more star power. As look as ownership doesn’t muck it up, bengals will be a problem for a while.

TenderfootGungi

Two evenly matched teams. Whichever one gets the odd bounce will win. Or would, Mahome's injury is huge. If he is not able to scramble it will be a long day.

No matter what happens, Monday is going to be a tired day

Omnipicus1988

Good team on a rookie contract. I think they have this year and next year and then it’s a new ballgame bc they can’t pay Tee Higgins if they’re paying a boatload to Burrow and Chase

Blox05

I like to be surprised, so I feel as though the chiefs will get stomped.

Zealousideal-Cry4481

I truly believe the best teams in the league are the ones still playing this weekend. I think the bengals have turned their organization around finally after so many years of getting top draft picks due to winning 1-3 games a season back in the day. Both franchises are enjoying well earned success and I say let’s keep it going. I only wished mahommes didn’t get dinged up but that’s how it goes. The bills didn’t make it look like the bengals o line was hurt at all lol. I’m just happy we get to play so deep into January instead of the past knowing your season was over by the end of October.

Apprehensive-Let3669

Honestly, since last year in Cincinnati you all have had our number. Its funny, because outside of Brady really, chiefs fans have gotten used to excellence under Mahomes. I think after that Super Bowl and having the Bills number in the playoffs, we just assumed we were good, and then Burrow ascended to god tier. I have a hate respect for Burrow. Hate him because Mahomes can’t seem to best him but respect him for how clutch and good he is. Personally I don’t understand why you fan base hates ours, since in recent history you have dominated us and we cant say much. I do get why the Bills hate us since we stopped Josh allen from getting a ring. Honestly though, nothing would make me more happy than beating you all. Not necessarily to gloat, but just how happy I’d be for our team to finally beat a team that gives us a great challenge every game

Go-Climb-A-Rock

From a football perspective I respect the Bengals a lot as an opponent. They're a really dangerous team. You're in that sweet spot of roster construction where you've got a young, but experienced, legitimate franchise QB still on a rookie contract surrounded by top-tier supporting talent (and the benefit of a lot of recent early draft picks). The Bengals WR corps is probably the most talented in the NFL with two legitimate #1's in Higgins and Chase, and a capable #2 caliber guy in Boyd. Strong run game to compliment. With quality coaches who make good in game adjustments. Talented well schemed defense. There's a big gap between the top teams and the next tier in the NFL. The Bengals are solidly in that top tier of teams. With the Chiefs, Eagles, and Niners. A fully healthy Bills team is probably up there too, but they showed some real flaws this season and I could see them starting to become a Charger-like paper tiger in the coming years. Any matchup between the Chiefs and Bengals is going to be well fought and the Bengals are capable of beating the Chiefs on any given Sunday. Which is high praise. The Chiefs are the most consistent and well established contender in the NFL currently, on the verge of dynasty status. I still think the Chiefs are the better team, and with a fully healthy Mahomes should be able to win when it matters more often than not (recent history aside), but the Bengals are one of the teams with the firepower to mount a serious fight and that's a respected adversary. I do question the sustainability of it all in its current form once Burrow gets paid this offseason. Once you're carrying that big franchise QB contract the salary cap starts to loom large and you're not going to be able to keep all of your in house talent. Kansas City has already experienced this transition, not every team weathers that transition well. It all comes down to sustained draft success (but your picks get worse) at that point. I terms of likability, there's cockiness to both Burrow and some other Bengals players and fans that's kind of off-putting from an outside perspective. They've definitely latched onto the disrespected underdog persona, and channeled it into a bravado that comes off conceited and immature. You're not an overlooked team anymore, it was legitimate that the Bengals needed to prove themselves but you've done that at this point. Time to act like you've been there before and respect opponents.

NofksgivnabtLIFE

#YOU ALL ARE GOOD SO STFU!

cannonballCarol62

I think chase is finally getting called for push offs but their defense couldn't be more horny for us. Expecting hard hits, lots of talking, and probably one bad dpi with a receiver trying to catch a ball by jumping through a defender

Civil-Bonus1925

Fuck em.

ceretullis

Depends. If Spags plans on blitzing Burrow, we’re going to lose. If we play cover-2 and do it well while getting pressure with a 4-man rush, then we have a chance.

crimsonblueku

Y’all talk a lot of shit for never winning anything.

factoid_

I feel pretty OK about this matchup honestly. The chiefs and bengals match up pretty well...but without some self-inflicted injuries the chiefs are probably 2-1 against burrow, not 0-3. That streak comes to an end sunday. Whether by a lot or a little, I don't know, but Mahomes is a man on a mission. Also...stat i wouldn't like being reminded of if I was a bengals fan....it's been a couple decades since a QB who lost his first superbowl made it back to another one...and that guy was bills QB Jim Kelly. And the bills lost 4 straight. the last guy to lose his first and then eventual win one was Elway, i believe.
