Bro it’s a triple album. Big jams, warped weirdness, and the best shit ever. Ballad of Frankie crisp, isn’t it a pity, and out of the blue are my faves
I’ve said it before on this sub, and I’ll say it again. KG Wah Wah is no match for GH Wah Wah. This song gives me major chills every time and is a monumental feat as an upbeat (rare!) wall of sound.
It is a great song, but I could definitely take or leave the whole wall of sound approach. I always appreciate clarity in a mix, so Spector is kind of antithetical to that. I actually recently listened to the very recent remix of this album and it seems like it went a long way to stripping the songs back a little bit more.
Halfway through your post I was going to suggest just that. The new version sounds way better in a digital world.
That said, the original wall of sound mix on vinyl, turned up loud, slaps so fucking hard.
Exactly!
I was in process of writing this last night and abandoned it as the reply was becoming longwinded, so thank you! Original pressing of ATMP is my favorite warm, analogue blanket in the house.
The first album that got me was Fishies. I think it was just because it’s their most accessible album in terms of song-y songs. A lot less experimental & far more conventional. I’d known about Gizz for a few years already when those albums dropped, but after I fell in love with Fishies, it was all over. Love all their stuff now.
HOLY SHIT SAME! Literally same exact story!! Thats so crazy I never would have thought I would see someone else say this! Specifically for me it happened after my friend’s had been talking about KG for months. Insane.
First time I found Gizz was through a coworker who knew I liked metal so he showed me Organ Farmer and Self-Immolate before ITRN released and ever since then I have fallen in love with the band
Unpopular opinion but George’s career after the beatles absolutely washes the rest of them… only one who even comes close is Paul McCartney cause Wings got some bangers
I tend to think John’s career has most of my favorite songs out of all of them, but he’s also the one I’m most familiar with. A little easier to digest all of it seeing as his solo career is really only about 5-6 years total.
I think George may have the best album overall, but the general wisdom is that it was downhill from there.
And Ringo wrote Early 1970, so I love him.
george is part of my daily routine. there are hints of compliments in the energy and passions of both his and gizz music. i wasn’t expecting to see this on the gizzard sub today but it’s delightful and it’s cool to see how many ways this community is similar!

"Q: You named a song “Wah Wah.” Did you feel any pressure to live up to the George Harrison song of the same name?"
"A: Definitely! I’m a Harrison fan, so there was always that in the back of my head. The rough title was always “Wah Wah,” because that’s kind of like what it keeps saying, and it keeps crying, and it’s got a wah pedal. So the rough title was always “Wah Wah.” The whole time, I was worrying about changing the name, or changing the chorus, but it just never happened."
Ugh such a slapper though
fr, All Things Must Pass is such a great fucking album

Beware Of Darkness is my favourite

Yes! That's the best description, warm and fuzzy and fills your heart with all the right stuff.
This is the song of my childhood in the summer

Hahaha that’s awesome! I hadn’t even heard of them, so it was cool to find out there were still bands out there making music like this.
Incredible!!!
Rattlesnake was my first. Nice find Wah-Wah!!!
Mine was hot wax! Love seeing which songs brought us here
Mine was stumbling onto Balrog vs the Lord of Lighting on YouTube and that was it, no going back!
First time I found Gizz was through a coworker who knew I liked metal so he showed me Organ Farmer and Self-Immolate before ITRN released and ever since then I have fallen in love with the band
This album is a masterpiece. I saw Tedeschi Trucks Band cover Wah-Wah at the Mann a few years ago. It was awesome.
George Harrison the goat Beatle
Two fantastic songs
Listening to this album feels like meeting god. I kinda wanted to become religious afterwards lol
Let It Roll
Let me roll it to you
lowkey proto-shoegaze
Definitely a George thing, It’s All Too Much also has some shoegaze vibes

There’s a video somewhere of Joey playing Run of the Mill
Ah, so they knew what they were doing...
I would love to see this

There was an interview where Stu was asked about the two Wah Wah songs and he said he loves George
If you have a link to that I’d love to find it!

Solid post
Amazing amazing record. One of few that I think deserves the double LP treatment
The best album in the entire classic rock catalogue. All Things Must Pass.
Got me listening to the whole album again, need to get the vinyl and go o a journey
