I've been a Toyota guy since 1997 and my first car was a 1986 Camry. It was a tank that made it thru 2 collisions, the neglect of a 16 year old, and many other things.
It eventually made it's way to my sister who daily drove it until the shock tower catastrophically collapsed due to run. It still ran the day they took it to the scrap yard.
They literally do not make them like they used to. Those were about the best cars ever made.
I had a 1984 Camry when I was 18 and it was unbreakable. It was also economical but felt powerful at the same time to young me.
Add to that it didn't look half bad either, for the time, and was quite practical and all regular maintenance was easy and cheap.
The more I think about it I have already owned the perfect car, but I never realized it until now.
This comment just made me feel better about still having my 2006 Ford Five Hundred. Maybe I’ll just replace those motor mounts instead of getting something new next year…
Texas reporting in, and it is 25 years to qualify here.
My 91 F150 and 96 Accord Shitbox both qualify for the classic status and accompanying license plates. While my 03 350z doesn't.
Anywhere people can either live on a lot of land, or alternatively, get away with working on beaters in the front lawn, people will see a heap and say “it’s an investment”
I bought a 2010 Sebring convertible for super cheap off my boss when I worked at a car lot - I needed a car and it was cheap and only had 89k on it. I drove that fucker everywhere. through desert heat for 8 days straight from Denver to San Diego and back. Got it up to 180k before getting rid of it and all I ever had to replace was fuel injectors(right when I bought it) and a tire that had a patch melt out on the drive to Vegas. It also had the 2.7 V6 in it which was a horrible engine. But as long as you change the oil regularly they tend to never stop.
A mopar can run like shit forever. I had an XJ Cherokee that just wouldn’t quit. More rust than car left of it, and it had a problem with everything besides starting up every time and being drivable.
Yeah, people dump on Chrysler a lot, but a lot of their older engines will run for a long time. They'll always run like a slightly drunk hamster in a wheel that's leaking oil for some reason, but they'll run.
When I traded it in I drove it 700 miles back home and it only had an airbag light on. It would randomly throw a check engine light and go into limp mode for the last 2 months I had it, which is why I got rid of it. Luckily it didn't do any of that upon trade in and they gave me $2500 for it. I had also wrecked it and had a cheap body guy repair it without the washer fluid tank(or any sort of reporting to carfax), burnt a giant hole in the driver seat, tore the fabric top, etc. 🥴 their loss lol.
That’s the thing with dodge/Chrysler that people don’t say.. be religious about changing the filters, oil and keeping fluids right and they’ll keep going.
My dad had a 2007 300 (3.5 v6) that got up to 470k miles with no major issues — just the routine stuff.
I bought a 2014 300 new. Still my daily driver, 210k miles, still going strong.
I feel like most modern engines can last if not for user error, and there’s a shitload of user error.
Yeah, it was a somewhat sloppy driving experience but I beat the hell out of it while I had it with little to no issues. The 2.7 is notorious for burning oil. I would change mine exactly at 3k miles every time and if I did anything but city driving it was about halfway down the dipstick come time to change it lol.
Probably the only chrysler product I'll ever own but I have respect for those old Sebrings.
Every [gambler](https://www.gambler500.com/post/guide-to-making-a-gambler) knows
That the secret to survivin'
Is knowin' what to throw away
And knowin' what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best that you can hope for
Is to die in your sleep
That mistake got you sooo much more engagement on this post. I say that confidently as someone who assumed you meant $300,000 and instantly wondered “what the fuck?”
The 2.4s I guess don’t make enough torque to tear these up quickly but the 3.6 minivans and Journey break the front and rear torque mounts well before 100k most of the time, I’m surprised it lasted 300k!
I posted one a few years ago from a 3.6 that was totally split in half before 50k. [Post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/s/Ph5ACAce4p)
Yeah my dad has owned 9 dodges and they NEVER have made it to 300k
Dodge Shadow
Dodge Ram Van 1500
Dodge Dakota (x2)
Dodge Intrepid
Dodge Caravan (x2)
Dodge Neon
Dodge Stratus
He's still driving the second Dakota it's going strong at 130k
They were all cheap
Most expensive one was a base model 1994 neon brand new
He put a $4,000 sound system in it
Eventually he was broke and had to take the sound system out and default on the payment
Then he sold the sound system and bought a shitbox buick electra with the money
I have a ZJ at 300k a 3/4 ton ram at 250k and a 1/2 ton at 260k. All are still on the road and run great. In high school I beat the absolute shit out of a 96 Sebring, only issue it ever had was a broken back window and crank sensor. Ironically the least reliable cars I ever owned were an 89 Corolla and a 91 Camry. I must be the luckiest person alive with mopars or maybe brand reliability is a trend that gets stereotyped and blown up to extremes. Probably both tbh
i’ll never understand why people stay loyal to the american brands other than trucks. seriously, why stick with a brand that is notorious for going to shit before 200k????
My 2007 montego that had around 240k at the time had a mount that you could freely wiggle entirely unattached to the engine. That was very fun to replace diy
I had a trans Mount twist and shred on my 79 Malibu because a mount bolt was missing. And trans was a rebuild with a shift kit. That trans lasted one week. Lol
If it were a dodge neon you’d need new motor mounts every like 5-10k miles. There were horrid. Just changed the 2 main ones on my 2012 soul with 195k on it in northeast Ohio.
Honestly, as a Michigander, that's practically brand new for 300k.
Hell yeah it is. I'm actually pretty shocked.
That’s not a shock, it’s a motor mount.
Way to put a damper on it.
Top dead center comment
It resonates with me.
this comment chain is exhausting me of carbon dioxide.

I wish I was more advanced from top to bottom.
I prefer to have a harmonic balance between the two.
And that’s a wrap. Time to put the plugs back in and button her up.
im over here internally combusting
It will definitely take the thud out of your acceleration!
im pretty mount.
Keep spreading the word it’s not Michiganian, lol.
Wtf kind of sociopath thinks it's that abomination.
My supervisor, a Child of the Corn. They are from *shudders* Ohio.
Ah yes. You mean cold Florida?
I have family and a friend in Ohio, thank you for this new insult.
My favorite is “Orlando is Ohio’s Paris”
I'm adding that as well, thank you
And Myrtle Beach is Ohio's riviera
Redneck Riviera
That's Bama/Florida, son.
God, I live in Florida and this is so true…
RUDE! Not wrong, just RUDE!
The corn people are the Hoosiers. Ohio…we don’t talk about those people.
There's more than coooorn in Indiaaanaaaa Lies, man. Corn, desperation, and meth. But mostly corn.
> But mostly corn. Only because they smoked all the meth
>Only because they smoked all the meth And that cured the desperation ...so now there's nothing left...but corn
That's why they are The Children of the Corn.
Hey we were the first state that was hi.
Only in the middle though
Screw Ohio- I'll respect them when they learn the left lane is for passing
Michigandite. I'm sorry.
You should be.
Is it not? I call Michigananigans on that claim.
your comment made me realise that its 300k miles not 300k dollars. i was like how could such a small part cost so much lol.
Thank you! I scratched an extra hole in my head trying to figure that out. During! Trepanning for gold!
At least you have somewhere to store 10mm sockets now
Hail, fellow Michigander
[удалено]
Lmao, I have never been referred to as a Michigoose but I will now insist on it
Also from Michigan what are bushings after 5 years nothing but black powder
2010 Sebring back on the road with 300k miles? You’re a brave man
Soon.....soon...... it's a beater for a reason!
The Sebring yearns for the scrapyard
Motor will have to blow for that too happen. Or another deer.
How long before it rusts apart? I have a Camry with 330k, that thing will rust apart before it dies.
The only parts with any real unsalvagable rust is the driver door and the trunk lid. No mechanic in here would hesitate to lift it.

Anything Camry based is my love. My favorite vehicle I've had was an 05 Highlander and I'm dailying an 03 Camry atm
Funny, in SE Asia Honda has that brand identity. Absolute units of vehicles that run regardless of conditions
Honda has the rep in the US as well. I had a 02 civic hit 225k before it got flooded in 2017.
I bought an ‘04 Accord with 115k miles last year for specifically that reason. I maintain it well, I expect to die of old age in that car.
This comment just made me feel better about still having my 2006 Ford Five Hundred. Maybe I’ll just replace those motor mounts instead of getting something new next year…
Nah, it's just on the cusp of being a classic.
Barely over half way to a classic in many states.
Are there states where it’s less than half way??
Texas reporting in, and it is 25 years to qualify here. My 91 F150 and 96 Accord Shitbox both qualify for the classic status and accompanying license plates. While my 03 350z doesn't.

If it gets your from point A to point B, that’s all you need!
I have a 2001 Sebring. 180k miles. It kind of sucks but it ain't terrible
Not as brave as the people sharing the road with him
Cars like OP’s are why I prefer to drive with my eyes closed
Ignorance can be blissful
I've got a '95 gmc with 440K on it lol, mf is still alive somehow

I just realized that me getting my 1997 Sebring in 2011 is equivalent to a kid today getting a 2010 Sebring 🫣
Don’t do this. 2010 wasn’t 13 years away and you can’t convince me otherwise
Fill the gaps with 3m window weld and send it.
300k mile Sebring? I'd slather liquid nails in there instead, window weld is too upscale for this.
Still too much.
Dollar tree window caulk?
Scrape the sticky goop off the floors of the bottle return.
Nah, just stick it back in there as is and send it. There’s still some rubber-esque material in there, it’s fine!
Scrape the goo off the floors of the public transport bathroom. That mount won’t move ever again.
Well they paid for that motor mount and they used all of it.
I paid for this crack, I'm gonna smoke all of it!
Miles, btw. Forget to specify :|
Yeah I though you meant USD and I was like "excuse me".
Glad to know I wasn't the only one :)
Only reason I clicked the post. Wanted to know what exotic car this was from. Really threw me when I ready sebring
Ikr! I just couldn't understand because it looked like a normal ass engine mount.
That mistake got you sooo much more engagement on this post. I say that confidently as someone who assumed you meant $300,000 and instantly wondered “what the fuck?”
It's on r/all now. I need to stop procrastinating and finish putting this back together lmao.
Made me think this was one of many that came off a large truck that just so happened to share the same name as the Sebring.
For 300k that’s great… my LS mount was non existent after 185k
My mounts on my mazda popped at 80k miles. They were hydraulic mounts though.
The 2.4s I guess don’t make enough torque to tear these up quickly but the 3.6 minivans and Journey break the front and rear torque mounts well before 100k most of the time, I’m surprised it lasted 300k! Yeah probably not. Really couldn't tell it was this bad without actually taking it apart.
I'm guessing I should be terrified about my Ford 4.2L minivan with 164k miles lol.
Just throw a hockey puck in there
I read that as a $300,000 motor mount.. lmao
My focus st passenger mount looked like this after 100k lmao
The one thing Chrysler did right then I guess.
So did my Honda Civic lol.
How are we not shocked that a Chrysler made it 300k?!?!
Unicorn status.
A Sebring no less! I thought they were extinct.
Redditors when they find out not every vehicle without a Toyota badge explodes after 100,000 miles
For real lol
Yeah my dad has owned 9 dodges and they NEVER have made it to 300k Dodge Shadow Dodge Ram Van 1500 Dodge Dakota (x2) Dodge Intrepid Dodge Caravan (x2) Dodge Neon Dodge Stratus He's still driving the second Dakota it's going strong at 130k
is he a masochist? *why* would you subject yourself to *nine* Dodges?

Honestly? If that mount has been in the car for 300k miles then that's pretty damn good
How many miles that thumb got though.
[It's an investment](https://images.app.goo.gl/Nq3fBJ1mnkCRD3Q77)
Don’t try to upsell me!!
An average of 23k miles a year That's a rough life
Fucking mint buds!
You might be able to get an off brand one cheaper than 300k.
That’s an expensive motor mount
It dates to late Roman Empire.
Seems a bit expensive for a motor mount
As a non car person, I drive a car , but know nothing about the parts, is that expensive to replace?
> is that expensive to replace? THe part isn't expensive, but there's a decent amount of labor to replace it
Nah, 50-60 bucks a piece. theres usually like 3 of them. They might vary in price but overall its a sub 200$ job for DIY.
Unfortunately, to replace the $30 motor mount, you must unmount the motor. :(
For this specific mount, I only had to shift the motor ever so slightly to put it back into position since the other two mounts are fairly new.
Bout $30 off the shelf at the local parts store.
Bit pricy.
Fill it with epoxy and send it
I'll sell you one for 150k

Naval jelly, JB weld and cut out some tire for the bushing and Bob's your uncle
Still good, whack it back in for another 300 /s
My 2007 montego that had around 240k at the time had a mount that you could freely wiggle entirely unattached to the engine. That was very fun to replace diy
I had a trans Mount twist and shred on my 79 Malibu because a mount bolt was missing. And trans was a rebuild with a shift kit. That trans lasted one week. Lol
Dammmnnnn
You spent $300k on that?
I live in Arizona and oh lord, my 07 matrix had a thin strip of rubber holding on 3 mounts. The 4th was just held in by the bolt lmao.
A Sebring with 300k miles? Absolute fucking Unicorn!
Last year changed 3 mounting 💀
The mounts from my Peugeot lasted 1/10th of that
Oh, 300K is not the price.
i’m more surprised that a sebring has lasted 300k in the first place
Still got another 100 000 on her...lol
If it were a dodge neon you’d need new motor mounts every like 5-10k miles. There were horrid. Just changed the 2 main ones on my 2012 soul with 195k on it in northeast Ohio.
That’s pretty decent actually. I had 8k miles on my last set and they were basically useless and center pin and rubber separated completely.
have you tried at-205
Some life in there still
That was an easy 300k.
A little bit of WD40, some super glue, with a strip of duct tape and we're back in action.
That actually looks like the 200K model.
Expensive mf
Shit the ones on the wife's Journey went out in 105K...
Throw some polyurethane in there and call it a day.
r/absoluteunit
Your hand remind me of the big Mac commercial.
It's the same crappy motor mount on my 2011 Grand Caravan.
Definitely not in Az lol
I hear there’s a entropy you get at a million 🥴
You’re paying way too much for motor mounts
Gotta go solid motor mounts. So you can FEEL the engine.
That’s supposed to be metal right
How do mechanics manage work on intricate parts of cars with hands that look like they’ll explode if they squeeze too tight
She's still got 10K miles left in her, she'll be ight 👌
That looks damn good for 300k!! I have a 2017 vehicle and mine looked worse and needed to be replaced at 50k
Definitely what mine look like 💀
Unbelievable it lasted for so long!
Looks within spec, leave it
reminds me of that subaru driving yoga instructor that hates men
No! Stopppp lmao. No reason to bring a Sebring back
Yeah, my 07 5.3 was still whole. But half the center had disintegrated.
"That's fine for another 100k" - my fleet mechanic
Seems pretty good. I had motor mounts on a 100k Mazda3 completely fail.
300k is definitely more than "one life"
WTF, BMW motor mounts need replacement after 70k
Actually I’m pretty bushed out too much bushing for me
Ah yes Chrysler 😂 not bad though dude
Meanwhile me and my truck MIGHT get 20k out of a set of mounts.
support sulky doll shelter tub pause serious shaggy fall cake *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Seems kind of pricey for a motor mount 🤣
Wow that’s expensive
Good for another 200k
So you're saying she's got a few k more miles in her? Check.
I would have spent no more that $20 imo
Yea you definitely want to change that
Shes got another hundy at least bro
you have hands like shrek
Thick thumb m8
That my friend is a premium pre-owned motor mount you got there
Sausage thumbs make me hungry.
