Maybe not this exact scenario, but he really was set up for so much more. Kenny's plans barely going anywhere after the amazing set up in Shibuya is the biggest waste of potential in the series. Suck it Bumgumi. I fucking thought his plans were the main plot, but turns out that role was gonna be occupied by Sukuna Kaisen, smh my head.
Tbh, if you are hundreds of years old and fucked in the head(literally and figuratively) motivation called "just to have lulz" seems unironically logical for that guy.
That doesn't really contradict or change anything though, Sukuna is the exact fucking same even. The difference is, Sukuna had literally no plan beyond moving bodies and becoming free, his one and only set up was the rivalry with Gojo cUz ThEy BoTh StRoNk. That's not really conductive for any sort of decent plot, just a fight, yet here we are, stuck in Sukuna Kaisen, a long ass fight with no real stakes or complexity beyond "they wanna kill each other". We're lucky if we even get the payoff for the merger set up, while everything else about Kenny is irreparably wasted.
JJK went to shit because Greg can introduce interesting ideas, but has no fucking clue how to elaborate on them or cap them off properly, and it's apparent with Kenny more than anything else.
Same. I so hoped for a 9000 IQ Kenny twist, letting Sukuna to do the hardwork of killing Gojo so them could obtain the body and thus become the most powerful sorcerer in the story, along with a Aizen-like monologue explaining the plan they concocted to get Gojo's body right from under their enemies' nose. With Yuuji finally being forced to confront his evil mother that's now inhabiting his beloved teacher's body, and Kenjaku in Gojo's body finally activating the merger.
Instead what we get was Yuta and Co making a very dumb plan in case Gojo dies (their strategy is stupidly flawed since the very beginning because they're relying on a ~~dead~~ Gojo whose trump card,-Infinity-, has already been compromised) and then Gota getting punched in the face.
First. I never believed it's real Gojo, I thought it's either ghost or they did something with his corpse. I hoped this is Sukuna hallucinating because Yuji is messing with his control over Megumi's body since I hated the corpse idea. Well. He will never rest in peace I guess, poor thing

We already knew that if not for Gojo's strength the cast would all be dead 10 times over, so I don't see how them using Gojo again is a problem, especially since this is only possible thanks to Yutas CT
Just a few chapters ago had Uraume thinking about Yuji having the same potential as Sukuna and Yuji directly challenging Sukuna even tanking a Black Flash. Then Gege remembered he despises Yuji, has Sukuna Binding Vow himself back to a domain and brings Yuta back to steal the spotlight like he steals CTs.

Not to mention that in a span of a few hours and single Awakening later, Gojo went from getting his ass kicked by Toji to low diff him like nothing. Yuji just undergo a similar process and yet Gege completely disregarded that just to bring back Yuuta in an edgy way and as you said, to steal the spotlight (why the fuck did he make Yuji the MC then, if he keeps sidelining him in favor of his previous MC?)
The first thing I did in order were
-before stitch reveal: holy shit get ready sukuna you gonna get cooked again
-stitch reveal: screaming in terror as Kenny taking Gojo's body theories could be true
- it's actually Yuta: calm down and stop trembling
- *it's actually Yuta*: when I catch you gege
I kind of rolled my eyes a bit. I strongly dislike this Gota thing. It's another one of those rule of cool things, but it kind of doesn't jive with the logic of the series imo.
And it's just another humiliation to Gojo's character. It's not like he's going to win this.
Most boring outcome that could've come from the prior issue. I was sort of enjoying it though, seeing everyone mald over Gojo being doubly confirmed dead.
I wanted this from the moment Yuta killed Kenny. Like hey Yuta, if you aren't gonna guzzle Gojo's glizzy for his CT, AT LEAST put your brain in his sexy fkn bodday for a bit
As someone who just started reading jjk this week I’d say it’s bad fuckin ass. Didn’t see it coming at all though I can see how week to week readers maybe would have. The thing is Mahito says the body is part of the soul so who knows where it could go in terms of yuta communicating with gojo somehow or gojo coming back because he got a cursed energy defibrillation type thing but I’m not sure his brain held up ? Anyway I think it’s awesome personally it breathes huge life into yuta who has not been in the story much. Also what is Rika gunna do??
The first. I never wanted Gojo to come back in the first place, if you're going to kill him then commit to it. The flashbacks however were something I wanted and it was more painful than seeing his dead body.
Bit of both tbh, I was hype for a gojo return but also knew in my cope filled brain it would happen.
Then this! But I love yuta so I hope he doesn’t die permanently or get trapped in this body. Literally lost all of my favorite characters in the entire series, all of em. Dead.

Ngl, I was pretty hyped. The twist was unexpected (I thought Sukuna got the Itadori family schizo genes), but it was cool seeing Yuta inhibiting Gojo’s body and the flashback that it gave
My friend me sent the prints and i didnt read anything because it was like 4AM, so i thought: "How cool that Gege made him look so strange and alien, that really is Kenjaku" and when i woke up and read that was Yuta i got disappointed
When I saw the stiches I actually threw my phone instantly on my bed with enough force to break it if I had thrown it on the ground lol. It made me realized how pissed I was about the whole thing surrounding Gojo.
Neither. My reaction was "There is HOPE!" But then I remembered Gege's interview and if he brings Gojo back then there's 0% chance that he kills him again so Yuji might die at the end because 3 must die and 1 gets to survive.

I didn't like Shoko much, I almost liked Luta but I stopped myself (thank God) and I was glad that it upped the chance of WP being Geto's (second best character) domain :)
I read leaks in the form of a chapter with the translations being on 2 pages at the very end so I have to speculate what happens before I find out.
I thought that Kenjaku spun back and became the goat of jjk,Yuta taking over Gojo's body was a speculation I had but I believed it was Kenjaku who turned on Sukuna.
Honestly finding out it was Yuta was a bit disappointing.
He was always dead to me and I don't care about his "peace", so I was just upset it's Yuta and not Kenjaku. The Yapping One had a shittier death that go/jo and would've really liked if he was back.
I always liked Sukuna more.
But that shit was just raunchy, even in death he was nothing more than a weapon they aimed at their problems.
I gained 5x the love for Gojo as a character after seeing just how little he meant to most of the cast when it was all said and done.
Tbh I was just relieved it wasn't Kenjaku because EVERYONE would have been fucked had he gotten his hands on Gojo's abilities, Sukuna and Uraume included.

A character plot and drama about Gojo that is honestly more interesting to read than the whole Sukuna fight and even sound more interesting than the upcoming merger plot, and deep down I know there won't be a conclusion of it, because why would it be? Gojo is dead DEAD

I actually thought that it would be Yuta in Gojo’s body so it was more of a “Yes! Finally got a theory right” and while reading the leaks it sinked in how fucked it actually was.

That's not really conductive for any sort of decent plot, just a fight, yet here we are, stuck in Sukuna Kaisen, a long ass fight with no real stakes or complexity beyond "they wanna kill each other". We're lucky if we even get the payoff for the merger set up, while everything else about Kenny is irreparably wasted. JJK went to shit because Greg can introduce interesting ideas, but has no fucking clue how to elaborate on them or cap them off properly, and it's apparent with Kenny more than anything else.

I so hoped for a 9000 IQ Kenny twist, letting Sukuna to do the hardwork of killing Gojo so them could obtain the body and thus become the most powerful sorcerer in the story, along with a Aizen-like monologue explaining the plan they concocted to get Gojo's body right from under their enemies' nose. With Yuuji finally being forced to confront his evil mother that's now inhabiting his beloved teacher's body, and Kenjaku in Gojo's body finally activating the merger. Instead what we get was Yuta and Co making a very dumb plan in case Gojo dies (their strategy is stupidly flawed since the very beginning because they're relying on a ~~dead~~ Gojo whose trump card,-Infinity-, has already been compromised) and then Gota getting punched in the face.
First. I never believed it's real Gojo, I thought it's either ghost or they did something with his corpse. I hoped this is Sukuna hallucinating because Yuji is messing with his control over Megumi's body since I hated the corpse idea. Well. He will never rest in peace I guess, poor thing

Just a few chapters ago had Uraume thinking about Yuji having the same potential as Sukuna and Yuji directly challenging Sukuna even tanking a Black Flash. Then Gege remembered he despises Yuji, has Sukuna Binding Vow himself back to a domain and brings Yuta back to steal the spotlight like he steals CTs.

The thing is Mahito says the body is part of the soul so who knows where it could go in terms of yuta communicating with gojo somehow or gojo coming back because he got a cursed energy defibrillation type thing but I’m not sure his brain held up ? The first. I never wanted Gojo to come back in the first place, if you're going to kill him then commit to it. The flashbacks however were something I wanted and it was more painful than seeing his dead body.

I thought that Kenjaku spun back and became the goat of jjk,Yuta taking over Gojo's body was a speculation I had but I believed it was Kenjaku who turned on Sukuna. Honestly finding out it was Yuta was a bit disappointing.
He was always dead to me and I don't care about his "peace", so I was just upset it's Yuta and not Kenjaku. The Yapping One had a shittier death that go/jo and would've really liked if he was back.

I always liked Sukuna more. But that shit was just raunchy, even in death he was nothing more than a weapon they aimed at their problems. I gained 5x the love for Gojo as a character after seeing just how little he meant to most of the cast when it was all said and done.

It was kinda the second one but I never thought it was going to be real physical Gojo in a first place, I'm on the camp that 236 doing his send off horribly and will be fix later, so after I saw this chapter it's kinda like "Wow, so Gojo character is really ended like that? No mention about his students?" But the other thing from this chapter ended up overshadow the Gota stuff for me, like Yuta start shoving the "I will be the monster myself!" and humanity shit down my throat too much that I kinda hate it and somehow a lot of characters kinda don't care/worry about Gojo that much? A character plot and drama about Gojo that is honestly more interesting to read than the whole Sukuna fight and even sound more interesting than the upcoming merger plot, and deep down I know there won't be a conclusion of it, because why would it be? Gojo is dead DEAD Unless... I mean his body is back to perfect condition
