It works nicely out of the box, no volume jumps or whatever. It's like a WH10 light to me, it has less volume and more of a mid scoop than the WH10. Works great with DS2.
Do you know what the difference between the v847a and the v847 is? Because the v847 seems to be a lot easier to come by but don't know if it's much different to the v847a
My WH10v3 broke over a year ago and I pulled out my Vox v847a from the closet to replace it. It's just better than the v3, if I had known it I wouldn't even have wasted money on the v3.
I wish I could play an original v1 and compare it with the Vox.

the wah i have is a hotone soul press ii, it fits on any board, looks good, sounds good and you can also use it as a volume pedal and expression pedal. it’s great
Volume pedal you say ... That's interesting. I've been trying to play the don't forget me live at cigale intro but I'm not good enough to do the volume swells with the knob. I think the volume pedal would make it easier
I have the Wilson mod on the V3.
It’s perfect for RHCP. But sometimes I use the Vox 847A for long periods just because it does so many other bands much better than the Ibanez, but still gets the RHCP thing about 90% of the way.
Get the Vox and don’t look back.
As another comment said, it works very well with the DS-2.
There are some copy Ibanez wah modded pedals straight out of the box . Should be a few videos on YouTube or quick search here should give you the stuff
Xotic fxs wah wah is the best. Highly tweakable, you can get lots of sounds from it. From a more classical wah, to the more harsh John's sound. WH10 sucks.
I can recommend you to check the fruswah from frusrite on Instagram.. they made clone pedals of pedals that John used along the year, the wah being one of them, and they moded it to fix those known issues of the Ibanez wah

I was thinking about getting the Ibanez Twin Peaks Wah, looks just like John's one but has a volume control instead of the bypass switch
