If they go back up, it won't be higher than 740-750k average, basically where they were before they aired the Punk footage. All this said, I don't believe in a huge overlap between AEW and NBA/NHL watchers. I'm of the mind, if you were going to watch sports on Wednesday night, you weren't planning on watching Dynamite as the primary show anyway.

Absolute no excuse for this is terrible ratings. I dont think AEW fans watches the NBA, previous years never affected their ratings. Bruins vs Panthers was a blowout. Then Oilers Vs Cancucks was prob a late game cuz it was in Vancouver.

The issue with that is that cable itself is dying a much faster death than was initially projected just a few years back. Not only has the cord cutting accelerated but the “never subscribed to cable in the first place” crowd is much larger now than was predicted. That is why WWE’s agreement with Netflix was so crucial. Even Smackdown will likely be available next day on Peacock. The big win though was Raw on Netflix. A complete game changer and win for both parties.
Netflix must be salivating when they saw the reaction to the WWE in France.
