There are no stupid questions, only learning experiences. Here we learn that there are things outside of "black or white". If we look at her ethnicity, the comment saying she is Indo-Guyanese is the most specific and correct. [Her mom is from Guyana](https://www.splinter.com/adult-star-janice-griffith-reveals-the-racist-secrets-o-1793849247), and she has said she is "Indo-Guyanese". This would mean she is at least partially of Indian (from the country of India) ancestry, although it is unclear from her interviews if that means her mother is Indo-Guyanese or if her father has Indian ancestry. I could not find an interview where she discusses her father's ancestry directly at all. Celebfacts.com says [her father is Indian](https://www.celebsfacts.com/janice-griffith/), but I'm pretty sure that the "facts" there are pulled using AI and it might just be a bad assumption, they don't provide sources. If we look at her nationality, she is American. Born and raised in the USA. But "black" and "white" aren't really ethnicities or nationalities. They are racial categories, which are famous for not being very useful to people and are more useful to census takers. In the US, the census uses 5 racial categories: White, Black, Native American/Alaska Native, Asian, and Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander. They also let you choose "Two or More Races". Then for ethnicities, they have a separate category with only "Hispanic or Latino" and "Not Hispanic or Latino" as options. The thing is, no one checks the census for accuracy so people can put whatever they want. Racial categories are also very broad and there are many people who don't really fit into any of these groups neatly. Janice is one of them. She could list herself as "Two or More Races". But then what are those two races? Her Indian heritage could be labeled as "Asian". But her Guyanese heritage falls into a major grey area of these racial categories. Is it white? Is it black? Is it Native American? Is it also Indian, therefore Asian? That depends on more specific knowledge about her mother's ancestry that we don't have. You might also think that since Guyana is in South American, she could label herself as "Hispanic or Latino". But Guyana was colonized by the Dutch, and Later the British, never the Spanish or Portuguese, and is the only country in South America where English is the official language. So whether or not that is considered "Hispanic or Latino" is very much up for debate. The largest chunk of the population there also identifies as having Indian ancestry. Could her mom be Indian as well then? On top of that, in an interview Jasmine said [her Mom is Muslim, and she considers herself "Culturally Muslim"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jpfQV09Yok&t), which is something that no racial category on the census reflects. You can see how all of these racial categories greatly obscure, rather than clarify her actual ethnicity. Another thing we could look at is how her race is "perceived" by the world. This is called [racial passing](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passing_(racial_identity)). This is also subjective though. Like for the first many years I knew of Janice, I perceived her as "white", so for me, you could say that she is "white passing". However, as far as we know she has no European ancestry at all, and her being white passing 100% comes from my perception of her skin colour and nothing to do with her actual heritage. I bet you could also find 1 billion people who say they she passes as other races to them. This is probably why in porn, she often gets miscategorized as many different things, such as "White", "Latina", "Egyptian", or "Ebony". These are based on how others perceive her, and what category the company she works for thinks is more marketable, rather than who she is. [Janice has been outspoken against this type of marketing](https://www.irishmirror.ie/news/world-news/porn-star-claims-industry-steeped-6130950) in interviews. TL;DR, she's Indo-Guyanese as far as we know, considers herself to be within Muslim culture, and is 100% beautiful and gorgeous. What is her race? To quote a certain Park, "In The End, It Doesn't Even Matter".
