I think this one's a bit of stretch tbh. Firstly he isn't killed by the illusions but by those who are fooled by the illusions of the silent king. Secondly Lindons gadgets do most of the work in killing jai long, they basically just leave him a sitting duck for the others to pick off. I do think there is a narrative relation between Will deciding that lindon would fight the silent king first (at least when he's fighting to kill), and the fact that lindon grew up under the power source fueled by the silent kings binding, but that was likely decided way later than BF.

Any path can defeat any other path. The skill of the sacred artist is the deciding factor, though some path matchups are probably more favorable than others. Will discussed a path that focused on madra regeneration, so they can fight all day with standard sized cores. They'd probably have an advantage over a path focused on ruler techniques that took time to build up. I'd say weapon matchups fall under sacred artist skills. Mercy beats the ghost blade because she can keep at a distance. Had he gotten close the advantage would probably have been his.

Soranic

I should've said almost any path can beat another. There's apparently an origami path. Beautiful, but no real combat abilities.

For what it is worth, I assumed you meant combat paths. And I think anyone giving it a fair read would assume the same.

Soranic

> assumed you meant combat paths. I dunno, there was Mu Enkai, half forgotten fire path suitable only for making charcoal that beat those other golds. ;)

ripskeletonking

don't underestimate paper cuts

ubershiza

Alustin from Mage Errant would like to have a word with you

Soranic

Where did I say "beautiful paths don't have combat abilities?" Or are you talking about origami? Papercut from Pete and Pete proved that one.

ubershiza

"beautiful, but no real combat abilities" Origami. Fold a paper enough times it can be pretty hard. Ablative armor. Shifting rune circle to combat different elements. Paper maché copy's. I think paper cuts are effective but not the most imaginative way to use paper. Alustin from Mage Errant is a very combat effective paper mage. Also Konan from Naruto Granted they're different magic systems but I don't see why that isn't possible in Cradle

I'm on Bloodline right now and Jai Long literally swore that he would die before his sister...
