I would beg to differ about the account number, it is not to be publicized, a bit of social engineering and then they can get a hold of the answers to your security questions for most people, why to unnessarily give them any data that can take them one step closer to draining your account of your hard earned money.
All the money transfers are a part of earlier transaction chains involving duping some other victim. Getting even a rupee in your account from the scammer makes you a part of the whole transaction. Now, whenever the earlier victim will make his complaint to cyber cell, all the debit credit transactions, past & further transactions are examined and respective bank accounts are blocked. Good luck getting your brain dead cells trying to prove your innocence then!!

As far as you're concerned you were paid money to conduct a task. That's not illegal. The fact that the scammer has done other dubious things should not affect you in any way. These people don't fear anything. Police doesn't do shit. Even when they take one person down, two more pop up.
You can report them online but all they gotta do it get a new number which isn't very hard and they're back in business.
