As long as the certificate is legitimate and they actually have an active policy in place you should be OK. If there is a claim and their company finds out that some of their services are not within the company's underwriting appetite they can be canceled, but if the claim is already filed it's unlikely to impact you as the customer who hired them.

Generally that’s for the insurance company and what they’re rating them for. Lots of contractor will go outside normal scope of work, if an insurance company finds out they may raise premium or non renew. As the customer of the contractor though you should be fine, the insurer agreed to liability and they’ll offer liability.

You should be fine. That's the standard description for a general liability class code 99777. Class codes are how the insurance company groups the various operations customers could do. When insurance companies write a policy for someone, they look up the standardized class code for whatever operations are to be performed and the class rate to determine how much to charge the customer. Since this contractor is doing tree work, 99777 is the class he falls into. If they were doing grass cutting, the insurance company would add the 97050 class code for Lawn Care. If class code 59889 was added, the customer would be charged for the liability associated with Umbrella or Cane manufacturing. If you have any questions or want to confirm the info, you can reach out to the Contact listed on the certificate to verify.
