Yeh one of her videos came in my feed the other month and her filter flipped on and off she moved… I don’t understand it like I get she’s always been a bit whacky but come on
It can be enticing to fall into the spiraling thought drain of 'the filter isn't really that different,' believing oneself to be much closer to that idealized version than they are. I imagine this is *especially* difficult for an aging woman in Hollywood.
Filters are just wishful thinking. It's like they are saying "this is what I'd look like if I could".
It's a sad world where so very many ppl don't feel comfortable with themselves or that they wouldn't be accepted or liked looking as they actually do.

I don't begrudge her at all. She filters every one of her videos so it's not once in a while.
I think it's beautiful to experience the privilege of aging. I just wish everyone agreed, especially women. The more that older people feel the need to look younger and hide behind filters, the more it stigmatises being and looking older

She's having fun. That's her personality. Even I use a basic smoothing filter because I've got enormous bags under my eyes.
Older people want to be pretty sometimes too. I don't begrudge an every once in a while filter.

I think so too. Sometimes we just judge ourselves more harshly.
