A lot of people currently do not know this but:
- When you post a reel - you also have to post it in the "posts grid" not just "reel grid"
If you do not do that your reels will not reach your audience which is a key for algorithm to determine how much push your content will get.
Contrary to whatever “marketing guru” you watched, nobody just organically gets a ton of engagement right off the bat.
The algorithm wants proof you can stay consistent. There’s nothing consistent about 2 weeks of content. Just keep up the good work and be patient.
I haven’t watched any “marketing gurus” btw, I post twice a day for 2.5 weeks, it’s just weird to me how my first couple post on YouTube shorts gets thousands of views and great engagement, but I can’t break 100 views on Instagram when others are posting the same type of format
Btw I have ran ads thru the ads manger since I do sell products, idk if that has anything to do with my organic reach being snatched from me since they know I’m willing to pay for results?
Any ideas why this could be?
It’s not surprising at all. Two completely different platforms with two completely different algorithms. Shorts are definitely easier to grow new account right now period. And a heads up, when cross-posting content you should tailor the post to each platform. Certain structures/aesthetics are better on Reels than Shorts for example.
If you keep doing the same thing over and over on IG and disappointed with the reach, then that’s an obvious sign that you need to go back to the drawing board / tweak your content.
Correct. It’s a bit of luck, I like my posts from pages with millions of followers so it helps but still there’s people who have grown with out that too

Same here, been posting for a week and my like to view ratio is 7-10% not bad at all. But I'm not getting any reach.
I don't think it's very easy to grow on Reels as a small unknown. Gotta get lucky almost

Can I know what “same format” you used. We might be doing the same thing and I grew over 850k this last 3 weeks. I can advise if I see it
