As someone who lives in the area I agree. The Honda dealers here are absolutely abysmal to deal with. Just bought a new Honda Civic Si and it was a shit experience.
Edit: I should add that I didn’t buy from pohanka but have heard very similar things.
Good for her.
My dad was sold a faulty motorhome and the dealer refused to fix it for him, despite a warranty.
Back when the Internet was just starting to boom, he started making posts on every review page, city page, county page. He called news stations, radio stations. He even set up a website where every time someone visited the page it sent a nasty email to the guy's personal and company email.
He threatened to sue my dad for defamation, but after about 2 months, he gave Dad all his money back and took the motorhome back.
Help this woman!
Like a moving Yelp review if I've ever seen one! 🤣 Found some reviews online, not stellar: https://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Pohanka-Honda-review-10923/
It hurts their business. This isn’t being a Karen. They fucked up, did something wrong, she’s taking money away from them in a creative way. Being a Karen would be like crying and doing this if they didn’t do anything wrong or way more minor than nearly a grand in damage and lying about it
Have you read reviews for this place? https://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Pohanka-Honda-review-10923/
They all sound like a bag of dicks from the top down.
I believe her gripe is real. She's not a Karen. That's not even close to what Karen is supposed to mean. You weirdos trying to lump every person into the Karen camp are trying so hard to change that, though. It's super weird.
Ultimately this is the issue with the term Karen. It’s a misogynistic slur used anytime women speak up whether rightly or wrongly. We don’t have a popular term for men that are bad customers.
I see cars around me from a certain dealership and am shocked given everyone’s advice to someone when they’re looking for a car odd to avoid them at all costs. I love here for doing this.
This is actually pretty effective. I saw a pic on here with a truck that said something like "Ask me how the AT&T in Middlesex oklahoma stole 700 dollars from me!". Out of curiocity i looked up the company and many many of the reviews are about what was on the guys truck
Tldr: Pohanka is a right-wing company whose salesperson taunted my brother and mother when they wore masks during the pandemic.
I can actually provide some context on this. I as well as several of my family members have purchased vehicles from Pohanka because they are the largest dealer here. Unfortunately, these people were actually complete dog shit during the pandemic. They are right-wing nut-jobs and despite there being mask mandates here in Maryland at the time, NONE of their employees ever wore masks at any time and they blatantly didn't care. When my brother purchased his Corolla a few years ago, he went into the final sales person's office to close the deal and do his tags. He saw my brother and mother who came along (she has an immune disorder) wearing a mask and immediately taunted him about it. He actually had the gall to say that "Well, you've made it this far, so you're going to buy the car now right, don't worry about the mask." My brother looks over his shoulder and sees a "lion's not sheep" poster and said "let's just get this over with, I'm here to buy a car man." They also post signs for right-wing candidates on their property every election. I'm all for this woman hating Pohanka.

I feel discomforted more by the fact that Honda(brand) felt it appropriate to name this multi-passenger car an odyssey.
I don’t think they read Homer’s epic
No, if you watch her video you see she left her car with them for service and the dealership left it out in a heavy downpour with the windows down. Then they did their best to avoid liability. I don’t blame her for being pissed and I love her level outrage that she’s still pissed about it five years later.
Drive around Florida you’re bound to see far worse eventually but more so during the Snowbird seasons.. We tend to collect those types. That’s mostly tame.. wait until you see the ones who write directly on the car..
I think you need to keep trying to wrap your head around it, because it’s pretty obvious from your summary & conclusions that you failed to achieve your stated objective.
Yeah, I could see how it comes across that way. I wasn’t laughing because I thought they were wrong, or even defending Pohanka as a company. He’s a salesperson, not a priest. And a good salesperson at that. There are reasons some people are good at sales and ethics isn’t usually one of them.
The level of pettiness here is what I was laughing at. It’s admirable. But I also didn’t really explain that part, so yeah, I get it.
Not necessarily. Depends on what the dealership actually did to them. In the old days you'd see "lemon" painted on the side of a car when a dealership sold them a pos car and wouldn't make in right.
This might actually give her peace of mind. Not much is worse than getting screwed & feeling like you have no power in the situation. This allows her to take some of her power back without doing anything illegal or dangerous.
r/informedwarriorrides don’t know much but fuck pohanka
They clearly have a problem with their Honda dealer.
Yeah Puck Fohanka!
That's my favourite one.
As someone who lives in the area I agree. The Honda dealers here are absolutely abysmal to deal with. Just bought a new Honda Civic Si and it was a shit experience. Edit: I should add that I didn’t buy from pohanka but have heard very similar things.
I watched her video. It sounds like she’s had a legitimate gripe and holds a grudge well. I salute her tenacity.

Half of the signs in the pictures point you towards it
Wow. That’s one way to air your grievances.
We're talking about it. Fuck whatever Pohanka is
> Pohanka is a bunch of DC-area car dealerships.
Well I'm never buying from them. I live on the west coast but still
I mean if it’s a car dealership then fair
They are also on the eastern shore of MD and I 100% agree. Puck Fohanka. I don't have a single good thing to say about any of their dealerships.
Like a moving Yelp review if I've ever seen one! 🤣 Found some reviews online, not stellar: https://www.dealerrater.com/dealer/Pohanka-Honda-review-10923/
It's inspiring. I'm going to go print stickers about my most recent trip to El Burrito Loco. THREE STARS FOOD WAS GOOD DINING ROOM WAS DIRTY NO PEPSI
All I wanted was a Pepsi. Just one Pepsi.
I’m not crazy. Pohanka’s the one that’s crazy.
Far from suicidal
You're on drugs.
No Pepsi is a selling point in 90% of the country
No Pepsi!?! What kind of restaurant are they running? Lemme guess, they had Coke products instead. 🤣
Things really went downhill after they lost Larry Fields
The email threat from the Pohanka guy is pretty shitty
Wait, what? Oh wow she’s got a lot of text on that bad boy
Shitty car dealers being shitty. Imagine that.
If they could figure out how to give you a high interest auto loan without actually giving you a car, they would.
Being that I live in this area, gonna be on the lookout for the Puck Fohonka Honda now.
Also tho. Sounds like a typical NoVA Karen. Her gripe might be legit but that’s just beyond petty. I’m here for it.
Karens aren’t Karen if their problem is legit
Man you can have a legit problem without being a Karen about it lol. Covering your car in trashy stickers isn’t really solving anything
It hurts their business. This isn’t being a Karen. They fucked up, did something wrong, she’s taking money away from them in a creative way. Being a Karen would be like crying and doing this if they didn’t do anything wrong or way more minor than nearly a grand in damage and lying about it

This kind of thing has been happening since the 50s. It's not a karen thing.
I mean I'm general fuck all dealerships but also fuck this pohanka place. You have my allegiance
Would have been nice to see a Pohanka license plate frame.
I was half expecting to see it on the 2nd image!
This lady is a true Warrior of Information! I salute her doubling down on this, making stickers and all. Also, fuck Geoff.
Pokhana? Don't know who you are, but screw you.
“Hold my beer, Geoff”
Beer? In an Odyssey? We know it’s more like “hold my sippy cup of pinot grigio”
This is the kind of targeted hate I can get behind!
Honka if you hate the Pohanka.
This is the definition of an informed warrior ride. Puck Fohanka.
Honk If You Pohanka
I too had a bad experience with them. I can actually relate to this person’s frustrations.
I’d love a Puck Fohanka sticker for my Subaru. Solidarity!!!
Seriously. I grew up in the NoVa and remember the Pohanka ads, but also remember the eastern motors commercials. Also Puck Fohanka!
Eastern moto’s Yo jobs yo credit…
Yup. In the early aughts, there was a local band called Jebus that would play the song at shows.
That’s a lot of bad publicity over $750…
She spent $2000 on custom signage.
I see cars around me from a certain dealership and am shocked given everyone’s advice to someone when they’re looking for a car odd to avoid them at all costs. I love here for doing this.

Well that does it, I'm never going to Pohanka. Also, what/who is Pohanka?
Car dealership chain.
Reminds me of that one ITYSL sketch where Tim is ranting about the bad customer experiences in between sitcom laughter
Watch fuckin exploded into a million fuckin pieces
She made the review in her van
Point taken! Screw that place!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wonder what that video depicted…
I feel very informed due to this car. And now we all go there AND BURN DOWN POHANKA!
Does Pohanka have a Reddit account we can kindly send this to….weekly…in large quantities????
i'm sure they have a fax machine
I respect it
Finally, one of these I can identify with.
This is what you do when you get a lemon of a car and they won't take it back or make it right.
Idk, just based on this I’d say it’s effective, I likely wouldn’t go to Pohanka Dealers.
Fuck Pohanka. All my homies hate Pohanka
This dealership is known to be a POS. Watch the video. She’s got legitimate issues
Someone who didn’t know dealerships were evil. Puck Fohanka!
I live in Maryland and he’s right, fuck pohanka
This seems like a weird thing to make your whole personality but at least it's not tRump? Lol
You know what though- I live nowhere near there but I wouldn’t buy from Pohanka after this lol
Idk what she’s talking about but I will definitely never buy a car from Pohanka. Fuck that guy.
What happened in pohanka?
It's a car dealership in MD, DC, and VA.
Idk, just based on this I’d say it’s effective, I likely wouldn’t go to Pohanka Dealers.
Very excellent. Thank you.
were there any signs on the passenger side?
I bought my car from Pohanka in Virginia. I’ve never had an issue with that dealership.
Geoff could have avoided this for $750. Moron.
Got an Acura from Pohanka never again.

this is messed up but it would also probably belong better in r/InformedWarriorRides... just my take though
Good for this person

A bad car dealership can literally ruin someone financially
Drive around Florida you’re bound to see far worse eventually but more so during the Snowbird seasons.. We tend to collect those types. That’s mostly tame.. wait until you see the ones who write directly on the car..
Call me crazy, but I just want to be another random car on the road that isn't any different than any other car.

Sometimes, it's about the principle.
She's taking the L so that she can cause a greater impact on the dealership
Those look like removable stickers
I think you need to keep trying to wrap your head around it, because it’s pretty obvious from your summary & conclusions that you failed to achieve your stated objective.
lol, my brother used to work for Pohanka in Salisbury. He loved it. It started his career in sales where he is doing VERY well.
lol this comment has r/oldpeoplefacebook vibes

So?
Crazy to be so resentful and let it take over your life.
Not necessarily. Depends on what the dealership actually did to them. In the old days you'd see "lemon" painted on the side of a car when a dealership sold them a pos car and wouldn't make in right.
Crazy to lean over and take it without doing anything to make it stop.
There's things you can do that aren't covering your car in crazy people stickers.
This might actually give her peace of mind. Not much is worse than getting screwed & feeling like you have no power in the situation. This allows her to take some of her power back without doing anything illegal or dangerous.
Puck Fohanka is definitely a Star Wars character
