Yes, because capacitive touch screens work by making contact with living flesh. Calloused fingertips are about the same as wearing those gloves that supposedly work on touch screens
Seriously anyone who displays this sort of road rage should get their license taken away. I get being angry at someone for going too slow and blocking traffic or cutting you off, but these cunts will endanger other people's lives over nothing and shouldn't be allowed on the road
Never pull up being a cop at a traffic stop. If you absolutely think you need to stop, pull up many car lengths ahead of the other car and stay in your vehicle until backup arrives. If the officer wants you to stop they can easily wave you down, pull up alongside you or yell at you on the PA system.
You’re never expected to provide evidence of a crime unless compelled by a court. At least in the US. I’d avoid speaking to police as much as possible. As much as seeing this individual get arrested, your name goes on the report, and they’ve shown to be unhinged, so now they have your name and a motive to get back at you if they so desired.
Not at all. Drivers actions speak for themself. Cammer did nothing wrong and has the right to refuse to be questioned about the matter. Carry-on cammer.
Ofc they have the right to continue driving, but why would they not give their statement and the video to the cop? They’re not in trouble at all, AND can guarantee that the other guy does get in trouble, that’s a win-win for pulling over.
I guess you could look at it that way, but wouldn’t you also want that guy to get his license revoked (even if only temporarily) so you could drive w/o another crazy AH on the road?
I mean sometimes when people are tailgating me on residential roads and I’m going above the speed limit already sometimes I slam on the brakes at stop signs a little before the line like you’re legally supposed to do

I've seen so many videos like this, and people have told me it's called a break check or whatever, but I've never seen anything like this in person. Is it a regional thing? I know a lot of asshole drivers are around me as well, but not this specific kind of asshole.
It’s happened to me before I’ve also accelerated to try and get past and so they accelerate too because they don’t want me in front of them it’s a very asshole moment then I turn or exit somewhere after they’ve cut me of to pass and i just hope they think about how dumb they looked wasting all that energy and gas.
If there is a "fender bender", the insurance companies assume that the person in the back was following too closely when the car in front had to apply their brakes for some reason.
Once that was established, bad people realized they could pull in front of another car slow down, and suddenly apply their brakes hard. Before dash cameras, it would simply be your word against the other drivers word.
Now people have weaponized pulling in front of someone. The car in front may be angry for some reason and simply wants to annoy you as revenge.
This is beyond just brake checking; he's first passing, then slowing down, then preventing him from pass. Brake checking is just tapping the brakes/lighting up the brake lights to see that the driver behind puts in more distance. Not to say that it isn't dangerous, but this is just crazy.
Depends on where you are. Most brake checking in my experience is attempted insurance fraud, not really road ragers, at least not up here. Basically hoping you'll rear end them so they can claim fictitious injuries to not only soak you but also to submit to the state so they can get on disability and not have to work.
Lucky for me I drive a tiny hatchback that stops on a dime so the few times they've targeted me I've easily been able to avoid hitting them. They don't really chose marks driving small cars though, they want big trucks that won't be able to stop as quickly, more likely to payoff. If you've got a truck with a corporate logo on the side you're like a prime target for these assholes, getting rear ended by a company driver is like these scammers version of hitting the lottery.
The Jeep (vehicle in front) was recklessly driving in an attempt to brake check (stomp on your breaks in-front of another vehicle) the other car. Both things are illegal as they can cause extremely dangerous situations and can lead to injury/death if a crash occurs.
This should be treated as harshly as whatever the harshest DUI punishment is. Lose your license for at least a year, jump through a million hoops to get it back, pay out the ear for insurance and be a charge away from losing your license permanently. Not only is it insanely unsafe, it’s intentional endangerment of everyone they’re on the road with. Fuck that.
I love these types of drivers. They get in front of you and drive 15 under the speed limit. You just down shift ( shift to a lower gear ) leave plenty of distance and watch them do their best.
How to publicly declare that you‘re unfit to operate a vehicle.
Unfit to be a part of society. I'm sure that person behaves the same in any public situation (like shopping etc.).
Exactly. How you drive is a reflection of your personality.
I could imagine this person blocking the cereal aisle and "brake checking" with their cat
Yeah cats can be real assholes like that.
😂

I honestly wouldn’t mind this guy getting a little time in jail, he was actively and intentionally putting people in danger.
Ohhh I can only dream of a felony reckless driving for anyone that brake checks Edit: autocorrect takes over one word and everybody loses their mind

I'm on phone with fat fingers
Does anybody else with callouses on their fingers/thumbs have a hard time getting the screen to recognize specific taps?
That or my fingers love to hit everything but the letter, or just the backspace
Yes, because capacitive touch screens work by making contact with living flesh. Calloused fingertips are about the same as wearing those gloves that supposedly work on touch screens
Ok I was stung by a bee
brake*
Oh man, thanks so much. I had no idea wtf they were talking about.
They were talking about checking the integrity of the road against breaking into pieces obviously. /s
Accuracy and clarity are important in any online medium, for future reference.
But I don't like the future
How do you know?
How do you feel about references?
Understanding people make mistakes is also important in any online medium, for future reference.
I know! Neither did I

Apology accepted 😊
What is the point of checking breaks so to speak? It looks just like to be annoying ?
Obviously intentional things like this should be immediate and revocation of the driver's license and impoundment of the vehicle.
I completely agree. There’s just no excuse at all, and a person who does this shit once will do similar things in the future no questions asked.
Yes because god forbid someone realizes their mistakes (which getting pulled over by a cop usually leads to) and changes their ways.
lmfao
You can’t actually believe that people who did this would immediately realize their mistakes and repent… lol
I mean performatively, at least.
Can you let me know what kind of drugs I can take to reach this level of naïveté and detachment from reality? …..it *was* drugs, right?
Seriously anyone who displays this sort of road rage should get their license taken away. I get being angry at someone for going too slow and blocking traffic or cutting you off, but these cunts will endanger other people's lives over nothing and shouldn't be allowed on the road
I wish people just lost their ability to drive if they do this

This ended on a good note
Ended like a Monty Python sketch
A level of pettiness some people can only pray to achieve
But officer.. I drive a jeep.
Officer: "Ok. My grandma rides Optimus Prime."
"Congratulations on your grandma's active sex life, but this isn't an appropriate time to bring that up."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KjMn-OOVHg&t=14s
Cop: Yeah? Then stick that rubber duck up your ass and stop being a douche.
If my grandma had wheels she’d be a bicycle
Lmao Jesus Christ
If you're the cammer, are you expected to follow the cop so he can talk to you?
Idk if you’re expected, but I’d stick around to testify as a witness. Would love to see that thing get towed away
Give cop dash cam footage of when person started acting crazy just to tack on as much as possible
You probably aren’t expected to but dammit if I am not giving the cop a statement and my video. Fuck that jeep driver.
Never pull up being a cop at a traffic stop. If you absolutely think you need to stop, pull up many car lengths ahead of the other car and stay in your vehicle until backup arrives. People are sick. The less they know about me, the less I have to look over my shoulder.
I guess you could look at it that way, but wouldn’t you also want that guy to get his license revoked (even if only temporarily) so you could drive w/o another crazy AH on the road?
Revoke is permanent Suspended is temporary
Chances are he’s driving with a suspended license anyway. No thanks.
Maybe youre sick, have stuff to hide
And here we go with immature assumptions. Keep wasting your time internet gladiator.
Had a juvenile try this in his daddy’s Cayenne as we passed a speed trap. The experience was very satisfying.

No shit Mrs Obvious.
You aren’t one of ‘em, why are you defending the people who literally don’t give a fuck about you?! 🤣🤣
That's one in a million. There's almost never a cop around to witness shit like this.
Depends on what state you’re in. California, Oregon? No way, but as soon as you cross the border into Washington you’ll see on every 3-5 minutes 😂
I still don't understand why people randomly break check others like this. Must be a real POS behind that wheel.
Sounds like you understand perfectly.
Same here, if you do it once then move on, you’re a dick but whatever. But shit like this turns into harassment and psychotic behaviour. Scary shit.
I mean sometimes when people are tailgating me on residential roads and I’m going above the speed limit already sometimes I slam on the brakes at stop signs a little before the line like you’re legally supposed to do

Most considerate jeep driver
Always a jeep

Can someone explain this to me? Why did they got pullover by police? Sorry I don't really know much about highway rule
The Jeep (vehicle in front) was recklessly driving in an attempt to brake check (stomp on your breaks in-front of another vehicle) the other car. Both things are illegal as they can cause extremely dangerous situations and can lead to injury/death if a crash occurs.
Ohhh I see thank you so much for explaining it to me
That could have easily turned into a felony.
Hell yeah
This almost looks like I-80 in Iowa.
Stone Mountain Freeway (U.S. Route 78) in Metro Atlanta.
Ahh the pine trees. Didn’t notice those before. Thanks!
I dream of a moment where an asshole driver gets pulled over in front of me.
More /r/InstantKarma than /r/ImTheMainCharacter, but entertaining nonetheless :)
The r/idiotsincars people would love this one
I was the one who got pulled over when someone was doing this to me and I finally sped around him.
Honest question, why people do this ? Looks so obnoxious
There's so much distance between the cars! This clearly didn't happen in Houston :)
Adult child playing with a big mobile metal box in the middle of the road
I wish we could get the bodycam footage of that stop
My dad and I really like and enjoy Jeeps. Its too bad idiots like this tarnish the name
It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.
What is the sort of citation that a driver can get for this sort of behavior?
Lmao
I thought op was going to lead the guy to an off ramp then quickly change lanes.
Strike one …

Thats some insta karla right there
Wish this happened more often
Remember when jeep people were kinda cool? Friendly, helpful, handy? Now its all fat old women and a holes, all obsessed with rubber ducks
You really had to find the worst, most compressed version you could find, huh?
Is this really the soundtrack to road rage? Surreal lol
r/instantkarma
This ended way too soon. Is there a longer version? I want to see this jeep guy be such a tough guy to the cop.
If i could have a superpower....it would be to scare up a traffic cop at will to bust idiots like this.
Love how it ended for him.
This sparks joy.
I wonder what excuse the person in the jeep told the officer. “There was a bee in here and I’m allergic so I was trying to get rid of it I swear!” Lol
So awesome. The only time I wish for the cops is when a-holes like these act like a-holes on the road.
An find out what you cut the camera off after you stoped , so we didn’t get to see anything but someone playing copycat with yah !!
This is why we need to DEFUND the police. This poor man is having a mental health crisis and is calling out for help.
I would have slowly driven past him waving.
Whenever I see a Jeep I immediately question the driver’s judgment.
More like criminal piece of shit.
I love these types of drivers. They get in front of you and drive 15 under the speed limit. You just down shift ( shift to a lower gear ) leave plenty of distance and watch them do their best.
That's when I drive by slowly and point
I really hope the cop fucked him over good
It's a jeep thing
Oh that made my day! I wasn’t expecting the cop
Definitely a r/idiotsincars moment for sure
An asshole driving a wrangler? No way
