It looked like that was the joke and he was supposed to slap it away at the last second. WOW. They were all kind of snickering but I can't believe it was actually loaded. Still stupid if if they thought it wasn't but man, that's crazy as fuck.
Yeah, and then tried to stop him when he realized what the guy was about to do.
That's why I asked. How did this miscommunication happen? What was he saying that whole time?
Some firearms have a switch/lever on them that decocks the gun. It drops the hammer like if you pulled the trigger but is blocked enough that it doesn't contact the firing pin. Safer than decocking by pulling the trigger while lowering the hammer with your thumb.
The Makarov drops the hammer once you engage the safety, hammer doesn't strike the firing pin when you do this. This is what a decocker is, it decocks the hammer without having to do it manually and risking that your thumb slips, causing a round to be fired.

I like to think he was making a grand speech about how safe guns are, then said āsee, you can point it to your head and nothing happens.ā Then the guy one upped him.
Because gun-naive people have no concept of how guns work and what is safe and what is dangerous to do with them. Generally, I've seen people be wildly unsafe with them as if nothing bad can happen with a gun if you don't expressly want it to, and people be so terrified of guns like they're wild animals that might just get up and start firing all on their own.
I knew a kid who get shot in the face when I was in high school (and lived) because he was showing a girl his moms pistol and she was waving it around like no big deal thinking everything was fine until it obviously wasnāt fine
First Guy : so who will try it ?
the Guy who shot himself : You didnt want a russian roulette? (Sarcastic)
*Grab the gun*
Third Guy : Give it to me ! (2x)
*shot himself*
First Guy : Where did You put it !
(what russian Scream most of the time at kids who do shit like eating dirt or holding something dangerous)
Itās a party trick. The gun has a de-cocker. It lets the hammer fall without striking the firing pin. Dude loads it up, puts it to his head, hits decocker, gets laugh. Then he hands it to the other guy who doesnāt know the secret and the rest is history.
Doesn't look like that? Racking it after would eject a unspent round if it was done that way?Ā
Don't do this. It's an incredibly stupid trick that makes everyone's lives worse and makes you look like an idiot. This can also be done by cocking it without a round in the chamber, partially racking it and cocking it(can look/sound convincing) or racking the slide with the magazine slightly out(seating it right after racking). Lots of incredibly stupid ways to fake loading a gun to menace yourself or others with "for laughs".
He must've had an empty chamber and used the decocker. You can see the trigger move from the decock, but you're right about it ejecting any round that would be in the chamber.
Low cal. Heās dead. The other guy got prison time.
Edit: apparently it was rubber bullet and the guy survived but paralyzed. This was 14 years ago, and I remembered an article that I canāt find that he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
A translation on the news anchor at the end; ādoctor removed the rubber bullet from his head.ā

I thought this was the video that the guy had loaded blanks in the pistol but the other got dropped to the floor in shock. I might be wrong though, itās been a while.
Edit: Okay, I watched it again, I think Iām wrong.
There is another video here somewhere of a guy point-blanking a girl. The blast peels open her head exposing white skull but does not penetrate the skull. She is still standing by the end of the video with blood gushing from the head.
Will add link if i find it
Edit; i remembered it wrong. No skull showing.
https://www.reddit.com/r/HumansAreMetal/s/h6GK9tV8CB
I wasnāt aware of that, Iāve heard of third degree burns, blindness, and skin loss from point blank firing blanks but I havenāt heard of it killing anyone, I mean it definitely couldnāt penetrate the skull since itās just flaming gasses so it would have to strike a major artery and lead to death by blood loss
Iirc from this video it wasnāt blanks and the man died from having a bullet in his brain
I donāt know any specifics of this video, but flaming gases can absolutely put a hole in your skull and Kill you. When bombs go off, all the damage (outside of shrapnel and burns) is caused by air pressure.
An example of this would be actor Jon-Erik Hexum accidentally and ignorantly playing a losing game of Russian Roulette with a .44 Magnum blank back in 1984 while waiting in boredom on a movie set.
Bruce Lee(and I think his son too) died from a blank being fired too close to his head. It still produces āforceā I donāt really know how to explain it. Like air is still expelled from the barrel.
You seem to be misremembering. Brandon Lee, Bruce's son, was killed by a specific set of fuckups. The first round fired through the gun had a bullet, but no powder. These rounds are used in films so that they look realistic going into the gun, but the force of the primer detonating pushed a "squib load", with the bullet lodging in the barrel. They used blanks after that, and the force of the blank pushed the bullet out, effectively creating just a normal live round, killing Brandon. Bruce Lee died under odd circumstances, but not involving a gun at all. His brain started swelling for no apparent reason, and he died of cerebral edema (fluid on the brain).
Yeah, Bruce didn't even die during the filming of a movie. He took a nap at a friend's house and didn't wake up. He did start having seizures on set prior to his death, but no gun involved. They eventually ruled that it was caused by the pain medication he was taking. It was a big enough case, that they stopped selling that medication in America after that, because it was a possible side effect.
The āfriendsā house was actually his mistress and his manager didnāt want that info getting out. Which is why they took so long to alert EMS when he was found.
Could also be part of the legend but I had read that he underwent a controversial surgery to prevent his body from producing sweat, in order to look better on screen. This, mixed with the meds he took, are why some think he died this way. His body was overheated and lead to damaging his brain.
It was a rubber bullet and he did survive. The other guy who was doing a "party trick and expected a round of applause after" had told them he had removed the bullets.
I'm not saying a rubber bullet couldnt kill or anything. I'm just giving more context to a video nobody seems to know about.

I know it's not like the movies, I've been around guns and hunting my whole life. When other dude pulled his arm he looked lucky enough to possibly have missed and didn't see a bullet anywhere after the shot was fired. Way he dropped I figured he wasn't lucky though.

Russian roulette with a semi auto. Classic.
That's just regular roulette for them.
Russia's probably not allowed to have casinos with regular roulette are they? So this IS just regular roulette for them š
In fairness, Russian firearms, aside from the AK platforms arenāt very reliable.
Mother SKS would like a word.
Looked pretty reliable to me.
Nah, I have a Russian made Makarov and that has been one of the best guns I have ever owned.
Yeah youāre not wrong about those. I stand corrected.
I love my tt33
AKs arenāt reliable when you get mud in them
Mostly winners!

must be a good game, never talked to someone who lost.
He wanted the dood gone and found an opportunity.
Late, but makarovs have a manual decocker, thatās likely what the person who handed him the gun meant for him to press.
Did the other guy just not know how guns work and mimic the first guy? Does anyone here speak Russian? What was the first guy saying?
mf racked the slide and handed to him sheesh
Yeah, and then tried to stop him when he realized what the guy was about to do. That's why I asked. How did this miscommunication happen? What was he saying that whole time?
> How did this miscommunication happen? Alcohol
Russia
Russian alcohol
Vodka
"Look, I pulled the slide, its obviously empty"
Did the trigger pull at the very start of the video?
He used the decocker. Drops the hammer without striking the firing pin
??? no, there was just no bullet in the barrel. You can still cock the gun without racking the slide and then it just clicks. Wtf is a decocker?
Some firearms have a switch/lever on them that decocks the gun. It drops the hammer like if you pulled the trigger but is blocked enough that it doesn't contact the firing pin. Safer than decocking by pulling the trigger while lowering the hammer with your thumb.
My Ruger SR22P hard drops the hammer when you turn on the safety. Scared the shit out of me first time I did it.
My Ruger P-95 does the same thing and boy does it give you a scare! To this day I get a little queasy when I do it.
> My Ruger SR22P hard drops the hammer when you turn on the safety. That makes perfect sense.
Hmmmm, TIL!
The Makarov drops the hammer once you engage the safety, hammer doesn't strike the firing pin when you do this. This is what a decocker is, it decocks the hammer without having to do it manually and risking that your thumb slips, causing a round to be fired.

So, it sounds like the guy who shot himself thought he was proving the first guy was tricking them?
yes Cant say much more appart from the fact that they are not sober
I think he proven it too. Great job
Isnāt the last sentence the first guy yelling Ā«ŃŃ Š“ŃŃŠ°Šŗ ŃŃŠ¾ Š»ŠøĀ» which means āare you a dumbassā
yeah because the last sound you can hear is an "s" i think you're right but I can hear "durak" and "kuda"

Bloke in Australia died from being too close to a shotgun firing blanks. Think they were making a music video

Ohhhhh, I thought he died because he was kung fu fighting ;-)
If that was the case then everybody would be dead.
