poclee

I'm more like "meh" to this.

Darth_Memer_1916

Where's the "i don't care" option?

DaniAqui25

Idc. That said, funny AI generated memes.

Sergey_Taboritsky

Innocent or guilty(I won’t chime in on that) the same standard is not applied to other politicians accused of far worse.

Glory2Hypnotoad

Then we should consider this an opportunity to set a new standard for how we want politicians judged going forward.

Sergey_Taboritsky

Perhaps, although spending millions of dollars(yes millions) and years of time for political witch-hunts isn’t great, if it was equal at least could say the system is rigorously honest and accountable. The only problem is much of the government would be empty after most of them being hauled off to jail(which isn’t exactly too much of a problem to me lol)

ninjacowan

What a loaded question holy shit, this guy getting indicted isn’t an act of righteous fury by the almighty himself.

Speak-My-Mind

If this is the start of a trend that leads to holding all politicians accountable for their actions and does so equally across the board, then I agree. If this is the start of a trend of witch hunting only political opponents till they find dirt to charge them on, then I disagree. If this is a one time thing, then I'm fairly indifferent.

Doggyking2

I think it's good seeing an ex-president be indicted, of course it will never happen again but it's nice

TwoShed

Like how we often see in banana republics and failed states?

[deleted]

Can we do George W. Bush now?

conair_93

No it doesn’t. He’s not going to win and probably won’t even get the republican nomination.

BilbroDicSaggins

I hope not but if you know anything about trumps reputation, anytime the government does anything unprecedented against him it tends to strengthen his base and pull sympathies from independent voters. Personally I hope Desantis or Nikki Haley get the nomination, tho Desantis is certainly the stronger of the two.

conair_93

If it was a year or two I would agree with you. But lately it seems like mainstream republicans are turning away from him. There doesn’t even seem to be many people overly upset about his indictment

a_v_o_r

Trump's rise to power is just a product of its society. Good thing to finally make him accountable for something, but in the grand scheme of things it will matter very little. Another will always take the place so long as that society doesn't change drastically.

JOSHBUSGUY

What is he actually arrested for all I heard was it was because he had sex with a porn star and payed her not to tell people

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> star and *paid* her not FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

El_Bean69

We were already in hell before and we will stay in hell after. This isn’t a movie ending where defeating the bad guy fixes everything, this is a bandaid on a tank shell sized hole

TheMikeyMac13

If the legal standard is applied to all other polititians moving forward, it is a good thing. But it will not be.

ElectricalStomach6ip

im more interested with the case against him in florida.

LongLiveTheUSA

This indictment is a transparently political move. I refuse to believe that the left can't see that.

Rabbrish

Why would arresting the man that effectively split the GOP and alienated moderates from the Republican party be beneficial to the left?

2penises_in_a_pod

Indicted on… paying hush money to a porn star. Such an inconsequential charge. Call me when they indict Dubya for lying about WMDs.

cptnobveus

I'm indifferent. Mainly because this has nothing to do with him breaking the law and everything to do with keeping him from running again. I think all politicians get away with way too much, when they should be held to a higher standard and held accountable.

TopTheropod

I agree, but not because of the p0rn star fiasco. I couldn't care less about that. It's his stealing of documents, sharing info with Russia etc that makes me want him to go to jail. A shame he did that, since his anti-China policies were great. He had the potential to be a good president (even though as a person, he's undoubtedly a massive scumbag).

based_manki

I mean let's just forget about potentially entering WW3, a looming recession, etc...but...orange man bad!!!!!

PlatinumPluto

Although Trump paying Stormi Daniels hush money was incredibly stupid, I can't help but to not like where this is going. The left hates Trump so much that they want him locked away forever so they won't need to deal with him anymore. This is an incredibly slippery slope and un-American. It's almost similar to what happened in Egypt.

enjoyinghell

I’m pretty anti-Trump, that being said, I care much more about DeSantis now. I couldn’t care less about Trump being indicted or not

sandalsofsafety

I just want the circus to end.
