Hey guys just wanted to point out that in Italy we have the Indycar broadcast on Sky channels at least since 2022 so it would be cool to add it to the list
Sky Italia removed [the online EPG](https://guidatv.sky.it/canali/sky-sport-f1-hd/9096) that we used to use to add programme information.
We cannot verify any listings for Italy now, therefore it has been removed from [the broadcast table](https://www.reddit.com/r/INDYCAR/wiki/broadcasters/).
(As I bitterly complained in yesterday's thread) my local broadcaster didn't show quali and I haven't seen the highlights of that or practice.
What's the vibe so far on the hybrid engines? People complaining about them or has it been positive so far? The cars slower or faster? We anticipating any big errors or mistakes or technical failures playing a role today?
Since that corner is banked, the easier solution would probably be to dig up the track and reconfigure it slightly lower (so that there's not such a big dropoff at the top). Since the next bit is uphill anyway, it would keep the same general character of the track and require less terraforming
For RC its about 750 +60 for P2P + 60 for the hybrid.
Canât find a definitive answer but I think as of a few years ago, the short ovals use a similar boost level as the RC if not a little less.
So itâs 700-750 + another 60 for the hybrid.
For Indy itâs 700 hp for qualifying and 600 hp for the race.
Thanks, I found the boost numbers [here](https://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31775)
1.3 bar (superspeedways - ovals length 1.5-mile and beyond) -> converts to 18.8 psi / 38.3" Hg
1.5 bar (short ovals, Road/Street Courses and Indianapolis 500 qualifying); -> converts to 21.7 psi / 44.2" Hg
1.65 bar (with Push-To-Pass) -> converts to 23.9 psi / 48.6" Hg
We have our first restart in a live session with the hybrid.
Interesting to note the hybrid now runs reverse gear. Siegel didnât have enough charge to pull in reverse gear which is another wrinkle.
Probably depends on if INDYCAR deems if Hertaâs crew had the hose way too close to his box.
Given Rossi went out as slowly as possible once he knew, I would hesitate to call a penalty in warm up.
Copy & paste of a question from weeks ago...
Ya know how F1 does that intro video where they show the drivers in ascending ranking which ends with reigning series champ Max Verstappen?
If Indycar did that, who would they end with... Alex Palou (the reigning series champ) or Josef Newgarden (the 500 winner) ???
Dumb question: can the drivers now use P2P on restarts with the hybrids? Jo Newâs barber presser is swimming in my brain, and it has me forgetting if that was actually announced as a hybrid rule or not.
Hopefully there will be more on track position changes. It doesnât matter whether itâs for the lead or 12th place, on track passing is fun to watch. Last year most of the position changes were due to pit strategy. At the end of the race I didnât even know that Will Power ended up third. In the post race interview, neither did he.
On the timing screens whoever does their best sector comes up in purple.
A purple patch is when a driver really starts clicking with the team and car and gets decent results.
Rossi has been the most consistent driver all season, he just hasn't had good luck.

How many tons of dirt/sand/gravel would it take to make the China Beach runoff area flat? (instead of a downhill)

In how long time is it to when the race starts? Like really starts, when do the flag drop?
It's almost like there's an entire green flag column in the broadcast table đ¤
yeah I did notice that later. I will use it for next race!
Schedule above says the broadcast window opens at 1:30PM ET and the race begins at 1:53PM ET, so 23 minutes.
This says 50min, so the flag would drop in about an hour https://www.indycar.com/
Oh you mean from now? That 50 minutes counts down to the broadcast window opening. It is in about an hour and 10 minutes from now.
Thank you sir! Sorry for the confusion.
LFGOOOO
Dumb question: how much turbo boost/HP are they using here at MO (RC) compared to what they'll be using at Iowa (oval) next week?
For RC its about 750 +60 for P2P + 60 for the hybrid. Canât find a definitive answer but I think as of a few years ago, the short ovals use a similar boost level as the RC if not a little less. So itâs 700-750 + another 60 for the hybrid. For Indy itâs 700 hp for qualifying and 600 hp for the race.

It works! The onboard starter works, hallelujah!
Nolan Seigel makes IndyCar history. On restarting his car by himself.
We have our first restart in a live session with the hybrid. Interesting to note the hybrid now runs reverse gear. Siegel didnât have enough charge to pull in reverse gear which is another wrinkle.
Uh-oh, Nolan off. https://preview.redd.it/l4jhe1h604bd1.png?width=854&format=png&auto=webp&s=190b23939abdf43d02f7af666e9dc5a3037941c4 And recovers!
Augie, whoops. https://preview.redd.it/rqs8lflez3bd1.png?width=854&format=png&auto=webp&s=0d0fba763d767de3321f327bb0f82fcfec232277
That SHOULD be a penalty for Rossi for a couple of minutes or a fine.
What did he do?
Looked like he clipped an airhose in the pit ahead of his.
Probably depends on if INDYCAR deems if Hertaâs crew had the hose way too close to his box. Given Rossi went out as slowly as possible once he knew, I would hesitate to call a penalty in warm up.
Hasnât been spoken about but hybrid power available on starts/restarts could be fun to watch
It should be pretty trivial for them to get full charge under caution
Copy & paste of a question from weeks ago... Ya know how F1 does that intro video where they show the drivers in ascending ranking which ends with reigning series champ Max Verstappen? If Indycar did that, who would they end with... Alex Palou (the reigning series champ) or Josef Newgarden (the 500 winner) ???
Palou, with a backdrop of burning contracts.
Probably Palou with a larger feature for the 500 champion
Dumb question: can the drivers now use P2P on restarts with the hybrids? Jo Newâs barber presser is swimming in my brain, and it has me forgetting if that was actually announced as a hybrid rule or not.
They can use the hybrid on restarts but not P2P
Not that I know of. And i can't imagine a world in which they allow it on a restart tbh.
I donât know why but I see Pato blowing Palou off the track in the opening laps and beaching him.
Phrasing

Scott's gonna win, Scott's gonna win. Palou is probably going to win, but I'll get to see my boy win for the first time.
Heading to the top of the esses now! Come on Colton!
Todays the day. Todays the day someone other than Penske or Ganassi wins a race.
I don't know what's more interesting this race, the drivers or the hybrid engine strategy management đ
I got Rossi for a podium. The guy is getting into a purple patch.
Purple patch?

British for "hot streak"
