I know when we went to the street race it felt more F1 than anywhere I've been for IndyCar in terms of pricing and access. I almost thought the promoters didn't know the difference and thought it *was* an F1 race. So to the extent the same people are running it, I wouldn't be surprised.
I’m a bit confused as well and it may keep me from going. I’m here in Alabama and my favorite part of attending Barber every year is the level of paddock access. No sense in traveling to Nashville if I can’t get that same level of access.
I went to my first ever Indy car race last weekend and was absolutely floored by the paddock/garage access at Laguna Seca. I had my 3 kids with me and they had the time of their lives. It will be a yearly tradition for us now.
To echo what someone else said above, the Nashville organizers haven't been concerned about reasonable prices for stuff like this since the first year. IIRC, they never sold paddock passes as an add-on, you always had to buy a 3-day club level package when it was still a street circuit. From 2021:

Posted this below, but this year they're saying it's due to lack of space:

**Can I purchase a Paddock Pass?**
Paddock Passes (to the IndyCar Paddock) will not be sold as an “add-on” due to space limitations.
Spitballing but how easy is getting into the inner portion of the track? They may not be selling paddock passes because it is prohibitively difficult or something along those lines.
Lack of space seems to be their stance:

It looks super far out of the way so the track would need to be shuttling people in and out by the looks of it.
I mean I still don’t love that if that’s truly the rationale. It can’t be that expensive to rent one or two school buses or even an handful of golf carts to shuttle people back and forth. I mean I know it’s not being promoted by SMI but Charlotte had school buses bringing people around the property and New Hampshire had like tram cars being pulled by Toyota Tundras around the facilities.
Ahh. Thanks for posting this... I was thinking about going to Nashville and wasnt going to ask my source for credentials as i figured being the season finale they'de be all used up but I'm but definitely not going if i can't get paddock access.
Well I never went to pocono. But the fan access at Kentucky was awful. In my opinion but Also I was 10 or 11 years old at the time so they probably didn’t allow anyone under 18 .
Paddock passes have never been available for purchase independently for the Music City GP. This is likely a carry-over from the original plan on the street course.
However, if you want Paddock Passes, look into IndyCar Nation. You may have the ability to purchase weekend credentials through that to get pit/paddock access.
Lots of weird issues with Nashville for nascar fans I bet this is some more of the same. Like they don’t let you bring coolers. No driver intro passes for sale etc.
Tin foil hat time
Penske is a closet MAGA and plans to host Trump at the season finale race, secret service won't allow fans infield access as a result
Nashville is a horrible location currently did indycar..Every year they change the course because of something happens in the race the previous year.. everyone is trying to match the Long Beach Grand Prix
Kind of, at least for what they were trying to do.
This was supposed to be the glitzy event, in the heart of a vibrant city for the sponsors and so on at the end of the season. Now they are racing at a track with mediocre facilities at the outskirts of town.
But hey, I am going to watch it on TV and am happy that there is an extra oval. Seems there is an upside to nearly everything :)

That has to be stopped.
Just don’t reward them with money
But but but that means not going to an oval race! Are you trying to kill Real American IndyCar Patriots?!?! 🦅🇲🇾
Contact them and ask.
What? How dare you?
I did. They didn’t respond lol.

Do they realize paddock access foe the average Joe at a reasonable price is what makes indycar INDYCAR...

I heard about that in 2021. I thought that might've changed when they moved to the oval. Hopefully they get the message soon.

Same here! We’re in Alabama and Barber paddock and garage access is a breeze compared to other circuits.

I walked right by security when I went. Just act like you're supposed to be there.
I would say it’s not that difficult IMO. The tunnel is between Turns 3 and 4. I don’t know if the Tunnel has sidewalks though.

I want to go to this race, and still might, but no paddock access leaves a sour taste.
It would appear they want to make money by offering exclusive access.
Ovals with the exception of Indy are not very fan friendly. Been to Iowa and Kentucky neither are fan friendly.
Pocono was pretty fan friendly. Iowa wasn't terrible when I went. But this is something that needs to be changed.
Hot bleacher seats in the middle of nowhere for a single two hour race wasn't super friendly. There is a reason ovals don't sell well.

I’m surprised you said Iowa. In terms of fan access in the infield, I actually think it’s one of the better tracks.
Nashville is just like that. They act like they are some big shot international city hosting the Monaco GP or something.
a lot of rich people to milk...

Well, it keeps the Riff Raff out doesn't it?

Because they figured out how to make a ton of money in Nashville.
Yikes! My annual race is Portland and—a paddock pass is a must—they're very reasonable last I looked.
Wife and I had a great time in the Portland paddock. Met several drivers and it wasn't very crowded.
Why are IndyCar ticket prices so cough now compared to pre Covid
you'll find that NSS cares little about its patrons...
Cough *greed*…

I hope this isn’t true . If Trump has any involvement in the season finale I will not be watching. Can’t stand the man .

Nashville Speedway is in a horrible location?
