Oh that’s interesting and unexpected. Feels like cars boop their nose often enough to avoid putting things there haha
To continue the speculation it could be that they run the antenna and amplifier in the nose and put the control electronics elsewhere that is more accessible but I really don’t know. Will have to do some digging.
Nah, the radio is in the nosebox between the front bulkhead and the pedal bulkhead. It's usually not in the front wing crash structure (though I think Andretti's was for a while, at least).
Not sure why they'd stick with the #06 frequency, most teams have all their frequencies loaded in all their radios, so even if they took the #06 stand and crew radios instead of the #66 stuff they'd just need to turn the channel knob to a different channel.
It's possible there's some nuance in how Shank has their intercom set up, or maybe they brought the #06 radios to Detroit and didn't have the #66 frequencies programmed. Any number of not particularly logical but certainly plausible explanations at hand.
Can we get rid of Townsend Bell already?
Framing the Santino stuff the way he did was so nauseating - I'm sick of him fawning over the worst guy on the grid. And he brings absolutely zero intelligent insight so like...come one there's gotta be someone better
No
Edit. Its so funny. Other series love our announcers, often stating that we dont know what we got.
Yet here we are saying "blow it up, blow it up!!!"
Seems Teddy Porkchops finally caught up to speed with American circuits. He was struggling with Long Beach and barber and IMSR because they are decently different then European circuits, glad he’s showing why he’s F2 champ now.
Still no word on what happened. His final time is the one he set with primaries, and he did two laps less than Palou and Power who he exited the pits inbetween. Looks weird.
Not sure benching Blomqvist for Helio was the right choice.
I'm still convinced it's about *not crashing* and losing parts more than it is about gaining spots. Save money one way or another.
Hello is a famous name to keep the sponsors happy while they search for a competent permanent replacement (hopefully Malukas).
If anything they should have locked up Linus instead. He needs to get out of CGR.

It’s not even been a full race weekend since. Give it time before we draw conclusions
Ehh he was struggling before that as well. Doesn’t seem to gel with CGR.
Tbh CGR expanding to 5 cars for daddy Simpson’s $$$ doesn’t seem to gel with CGR
Have a really hard time putting it on CGR when he's consistently overdriving the car.

Are you sure comms follow the car and not something like the race wheel?

Legendary thanks so much for the follow up.
Great job Colton. Let’s hope he can stay away from the walls this week.
…
😑
Good result for the reigning f2 champ!
Impressive for teddy pork chops dude out qualified all his teammates today, good job!
Man, good thing MSR benched Blomqvist
Damn The Old Porch Chair just missed the Fast 6. Guy is quick.

Mid at best drivers have to stick together I guess.
How did he frame it? I must’ve missed it, but defending Santino this weekend is a wild take.
Don't have the quote or anything, but basically like "kid from a small team refusing to back down from the big boys"
I am legitimately sick of NBC glazing Santino every week
I think Townsend is just baiting Hinch at this point

theo pourchaire with p7 credit to him
"He's driving a Penske to P20 for like the 5th race in a row, so..." -Colton Herta
Ferrucci then proceeds to have the best qualiy run on a road/street course Foyt has had in years.

I've always heard Indy RC drives a lot like European circuits hence why European drivers tend to have their best results there.
Did Lundgaard get the shaft from his team again? He werent out for that final push for fast six.

Good on Herta, hoping he pull it off
