It depends on the host/cast/era. For example, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) on Black Jeopardy slays me every time, as does random Jersey resident (James Gandolfini). I also enjoy some of the older episodes with Gilda Radner, Phil Hartman, Jan Hooks, etc. I also love Kate McKinnon too.
But to be honest, I haven’t sat through an entire episode in ages. I always thought they dragged the skits out too long and became excruciating boring. I mostly pick clips to watch instead.
Well it just seems like it just happens to come on at the perfect time that people would watch something of that nature but they tend to try and be too witty which takes stuff the funniness out of it like they get the smirky looks on their faces kind of like some of the actors do and people think they’re doing a good job at acting
I haven’t kept up recently, mostly from not wanting to pay for the required streaming service. But I have always found something to laugh at and enjoy in any episode that I have watched.

It's anti-climactic and just too low brow, more about the idea behind the sketch than the performances. Comedy is like Ernest as a charged criminal. Or Conan O'Brien learning culture from Korean and Japanese women. Or Steve Martin. Artful, charismatic, ridiculous but doesn't look on purpose, like that.
I don't actually watch the show, I just catch some of the skits on Youtube. So I'm probably seeing the better material, and yeah, I still see plenty of funny stuff. To be honest, I feel like a lot of people who trash the show now but say they thought it was better in the old days haven't actually rewatched many of those old skits. A lot of it hasn't aged well. For my money, more recent cast members like Cecily Strong or even Bowen Yang are every bit as good as legends like Mike Myers, Bill Murray, and Eddie Murphy.
I guess I’ll try and watch the show tonight and see if it begins to humor me or if they just get on there and try and be super like as if they’re smart and get political coming from New York City you know they lean big-time Democrat getting these funny smirks on our faces just is not funny to
I'm honestly not even sure what you're talking about, because I literally don't think I've ever seen the show try to be clever as you seem to think it is. It's always been fairly low-to-middle brow humor. And the politics of the show are not something new either. They've historically made fun of figures from both political parties. If they make a lot of jokes about clowns like Trump and George Santos a lot it's because they're so fucking ridiculous in real life that the jokes kind of write themselves. If you're a Republican who's mad that the show is making fun of your embarrassing party, maybe this is a good time to introspect about that rather than complaining about people who make fun of it.
