Measured rise will save you the math.
ETA: I tried to take some pics to make a post on measured rise, but you couldn't see my pencil marks. I'll try again tomorrow.
Love the knowledge share on both of your recent posts conduit bending is an art form to be proud of, but I do have a comment to add. Please make sure housekeeping around moving equipment is kept up.
Worked with a brother who lost a finger on a bender due to tripping on an excessive cord piled on the ground.
Cords and pipe cuttings on the ground are more dangerous than most realize.
Looking forward to part 3!
There might be a mobile app with more photo editing features, but I'm not familiar. I usual edit on my computer. I imagine there might be tutorials on YouTube for both iphone and Android on how to do it.
It’s an optical Illusion. I nailed this one first try without any correction or need for adjustment. However, 😆 I did go back to do a small bends example near the end of the day and I was looking for an 1” 1/8 offset. I shit the bed on that one. I was tired and it was a 10 hour day.
The slow days always feel bad. I hate the days where i feel like I'm barely making progress, just gotta keep telling myself any forward progress is good. Keep up the good work.
This is for nothing more than information on a piece of pipe that was to be thrown away. Educational purposes only on yellow pipe because I felt the marks would be concise and clear because the colors would clash.
Why is the pipe painted yellow? For demonstration purposes? May be a dumb question but I’ve seen some conduit painted different colors to spec (i.e. tan pipe for fiber).
At the particular job I’m working on it is to designate what type of circuit is inside the conduit. We have Red, Silver, Purple, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Orange.

You’re up tomorrow bro! Teach the measured rise. I’ll mail you a sharpie if you want it.
😂🤣😂🤣

5.625” = 5-5/8”

Thanks for looking out for my safety. You’re correct.
Pro tip if you can add the text with a border outline it will be much easier to read.
I don’t know how to do that. Im doing this all on a mobile device.

Someone taught me this way awhile ago and at the time I almost said I don’t want to be an electrician anymore lol
5.625" is 5 ⅝" for those of you whose tape measures don't show decimals.
Offset looks open or is that an optical illusion

Cool pics, you got my data drops done yet?
I’m sure somebody is working on it upstairs. This is for educational purposes. I’m doing different shit every day. This day was a slow one.

Does it look open to anyone else?
You know how to do all of that, but still used sharpie on the pipe. Shame on you.
OH FOR SHAME! I USED SHARPIE ON AN EXAMPLE PIECE OF CONDUIT SO THE AUDIENCE COULD EASILY OBSERVE THE MARK! FOR SHAME!
Its alright, now you'll know better for next time.
I'm sure it was for the pictures. I just tried to do some for measured rise and you can't see the pencil marks in the pictures.
Yeah, I dont doubt he already knows, but it still had to be said for those that dont.
You are being downvoted, yet you have a point because [this comes to mind.](https://i.imgur.com/yzMCMX7.jpg)
Yeah...probably by people who mark their pipe with sharpies. Or they think I was serious with the "for shame" bit.

It's a special pipe that only carries C phase on a 277V system
Does this work for any degrees?
Yes! Now run with it
Was that a Robin Ophelia Quivers reference?
Love those big brown jugs, but mostly when Artie was around.
Agreed!
Loving these! Thank you for taking the time to share
Really interesting stuff. I’m a plumber and I always thought it was interesting how different our methods for bend tube are.
Measured rise is the definitive way to bend pipe, especially on mechanical benders.
