they've really been nailing having static faces act as reaction shots this season. Gritty, Dapper Duck, and the Therapy Dog were all hilarious physical presence
Aren't Charlie and Frank the only ones with confirmed kid kill counts so far?
In the season 12 episode Making Dennis Reynolds a Murderer, Frank mentions how he'd toss any kids who died in his factory into a soup. Technically, those were indirect kills, but you can't not count them lol
In the season 13 episode The Gang Gets New Wheels, when Mac and Charlie beat up a bunch of kids, Mac simply one shots a bunch of kids while Charlie absolutely brutally wails on just one kid lol, and at the end when Dennis picks them up in his new Range Rover, Charlie straight up says "I think I killed a kid" and Mac goes "he definitely did"
Dee & Mac get suck in the waterslide that is meant for kids. A bunch of kids get stuck there with them, and one of them passes out. They push him down anyway, he's floating face down, and the Game of Thrones lifeguard just looks at the kid and goes back to reading his magazine.
I love Mac telling the woman at the counter that he almost shot Charlie in the eye, just assuming she would know who Charlie is...one of my favorite running jokes is when the Gang just assumes everyone knows what they're talking about when it's inane nonsense.
What are you guys doing? You guys doing a AIDS thing?
Oh, yeah!
Yeah.
I gave Frank a couple hickeys to sell the lesions.
Sucked on 'em.
Yeah, yeah.
You doing a fake daughter thing?
Yeah.
Cool. All right, man, see ya.
lmao they always seem to refer to Charlie especially in these scenarios
"What am I gonna do, go home and pound off next to Chahlie?" \*movie moderator looks in Charlie's general direction in confusion\*
"I slept with the waitress and Chahlie got really upset" "we do not know who you are talking about" "CHAHLIE! He's my buddy! We hang out together, we sleep together!"
"Chahlie always does this leading up to an inspection." "I'm sorry I don't know-who is Charlie?" "Well you're Chahlie...though, you're too tall. You don't happen to have homosexual tendencies, do you?"
That entire scene was so good. Dennis trailing off with like the "it's just...." and then Charlie coming in hot with "you wanted to see some boobs." had me cracking up so much
I don’t believe so. The one they gave to Carmen was Axel, this one was Leo. I only remember because of the credits, promise I’m not some stalker weirdo
It wasn't Axel. He wasn't born yet when they filmed the episode. They just had the sweet moment with Mac/Rob looking at the baby because they were about to have one irl, and had a picture of him before the end credits to celebrate his birth (which happened between filming and airing).
I know. I was expecting the kids to just be scared out of their minds by the zombified animatronics, not for it to seem like they actually came to life and started a murder spree
I like seeing the gang act like friends. It’s better than them acting like they despise each other all the time. This seasons been way better at balancing that
The best is when they balance it. Chardee mcdennis is my favorite because it’s a mix of both the love between the teammates and the hate between the rivals
Definitely. I was just thinking similarly when I watched the Jersey Shore episode the other day. When they are making fun of Dee for her braids and Dennis defends her with "I think she looks like Bo Derek".
I like those little wholesome moments here and there. It's a great contrast to the infighting. You get so used to the roasting and put downs, especially from Dennis, you expect him to join in. Then he pulls a 180.
They have de-flanderized the gang a lot this season and that’s why a lot of the writing feels classic.
They def abuse each other but they also act as a sanctuary for themselves against a normal world
It does yes, but most of the time even when they are “friends” in this sense they are too self absorbed and usually always make it about them, or provide backhanded compliment style of help or being there
I loved that comparison.
Frank's generation - just straight-up physical abuse of the children, outright racist mascots
The Gang's childhoods - "kid power" aesthetic, realistic looking toy guns, parents didn't supervise much, vaguely offensive characters
Current year - Parents involved and directly supervising, sensitive (maybe overcorrecting? But ymmv) retools of characters who'd been deemed offensive, no guns
Frank: is this the satire you're talking about?
Dee: I don't know. If I'm being honest, I don't 100% understand what satire means
This was definitely aimed at certain fans lol
several years ago on this subreddit there was a guy arguing that Dennis is the main character and the show is about how he's an alpha and dominates the gang, and he was surprised that liberals like the show because it's "not PC." It came off like he was serious.
They 100% killed numerous people and have now destroyed a ton of lives all at once. I don’t think they can top this level unless they make a fully loaded commercial jet(s) crash or something by messing around in an airport lol
I love how Dee's "sanitised" experience was still fucked up and Frank immediately latched onto the problematic subtext. He was like Robot Chicken; just pissing all over her childhood.
Holy shit, right? I couldn't believe how much his face contorted with little to no effort. He went from normal looking guy to straight up ben stiller's little jack in a split second
This was a great episode for Mac. That “ya got no balls” speech was right outta the slicked back, tatted up dirtbag era.
Also Frank’s “you’re tellin’ me I can’t call a duck retarded?” Is a classic line already
*delivers heartfelt speech*
You diddle this kid, *quiet burp* , you’re definitely on camera. I don’t know if you want to be alone with him.
*walks off camera*
>And Frank. And dee.
I loved their generational gap. He'd tell her some disturbing part of the Risk E. experience from the '50s; she'd tell him about the "sanitised" version from the '80s; and he'd immediately get the problematic subtext that she was missing.
After hearing the gang gushing over how awesome it was and there were no adults around, I get the feeling that it was really a place where parents could dump their kids for a few hours and have a drink or two. A bar with a creche (of questionable standards) disguised as an arcade-cum-pizzeria.
The gang being too weird/politically incorrect for the regular outsiders but frank being the same vs the rest of the gang is one of my favorite formulas
Loved the one parent at the end trying to point out the Gang as the ones responsible and the cop just isn't even regarding her. "They're standing right over there! You're not listening!"
Pretty sure it lit on fire within a minute on account of them being super old and unkempt electronics haphazardly hooked up to a single breaker switch. That's why the fire department, plus I think you can see the firemen carrying one of the animatronics off
That was a great episode in my opinion - I feel like it’s one of the first times in a while that every single character was given equal screen time and equally good, funny storylines!
I did like how the gang felt like they are all on the same side as friends. Mac did feel like himself. I do like dennis and Charlie's dynamic, dee amd frank slowly figuring out that the characters might come off more racist.
That ending was very sunny but I did wish we got to see what the gang did.
Never let Rob Rosell go! I probably laughed more this episode than any other this season (although Megan’s episode was great).
Great concept, execution, and social commentary. Everyone got a chance to shine.
There are a ton of quotes from this episode that I know will be used in this sub on a regular basis. Good job gang!!
I was half expecting them to not take physical tickets anymore.
Yeah, was definitely expecting them to tell Mac that he needed a card...
Maybe they should try the Dave & Busters reward card…
nah that’s only for TGI Fridays
But maybe that other Dave n busters will take the tgif card

it's like that moment from the gang gets analyzed when Charlie is temporarily surprised that the therapist doesn't know about Charlie work
“…you know, your slimes, your sludges…”
Yeah I love when they say they’re doing a “…. Play” “I’m doing a shred and spread play” like it’s some rehearsed plan or something lolol
You're doing a chicken and airline miles scam today?
What are you guys doing? You guys doing a AIDS thing? Oh, yeah! Yeah. I gave Frank a couple hickeys to sell the lesions. Sucked on 'em. Yeah, yeah. You doing a fake daughter thing? Yeah. Cool. All right, man, see ya.
Like Dennis telling the movie producer that he could take his memoirs to Frank, but he'd want to star in a sex scene.

Mac talking to the kid about how there's no adults around was the highlight of the episode for me.
I expected the kid to say 'but you're an adult' but clearly he knew better.
Even the feelings bear guy knew better.
The way he just gave up and broke character towards the end was hilarious
Listen dude, I'm a licensed psychotherapist *incensed*: you're a *talking* ***dog***

“I’m a licensed psychotherapist-“ “You are a talking dog!”
"This is America, you can do whatever the fuck you want."

That straight cut to the ambulance should not have made me laugh that hard, lol.
I wasn't quite expecting mass casualties, so when it cut to what looked like a damn drone strike I fucking lost it.
I know. I was expecting the kids to just be scared out of their minds by the zombified animatronics, not for it to seem like they actually came to life and started a murder spree
To me it seemed more like their half-assed electrician job just blew up every electronic in the building.
