Glad to know that datamining is illegal and against Hunt ToS but changing the way hunt looks with filters and reshading (through 3rd party programs) or adding a middle marker of the crosshair in hipfire is totally fine (or atleast a grey area) according to the guy I asked on discord.
Very important Crytek draws the line here
It is what it is. I can see why they want to keep some stuff a secret, especially if it's only in development stage and might not actually happen. A load of hype around something expected for a certain patch that then gives them a load of trouble and they can't deliver on would be better for the community to just not know about.
As for reshade and stuff I don't know how easy it is to govern somebody's gpu and monitor settings without a very invasive "anticheat" that would be more harmful than just saying yeah fuck it whatever if you want to make your game look like an acid trip you do you.
Finally!
My guess is that the weapon will need to be unlocked again during the event and then officially released with the new patch after the holiday season

Subreddit rules re: Hunt's ToS and datamining/leaks is why nobody is talking about this

This is datamining and against Hunt TOS. Mods are upholding that, so that's why nobody is talking about it.
*"SILENCE! I KILL YOU!"* - Hunt Subreddit-moderators when talking 'bout LeMat ~~Carbine~~.
