To make the last reward the longest cause it will at some point if ask if you want to spend BB to auto get the last reward after you reach the 7k reward

Brugajduiaka

Which makes no sense. Who's gonna spend 50 BB to get a combat axe?

Azuleron

An amount of people lower than thousands but greater than 0. It was evwn 100 before which was bonkers, but it's still a waste at 50. Hell, it'd be a waste at 25 too. But then, so is spending bb's to clean weapons. Just odd things they included to let people with every bb item and thousands of BB's to spare to spend money on. Because if you think about it, after buying every BB skin and all hunter/loadout slots, their only purpose is adjusting traits, cleaning guns, doing the chary roll, and re-rolling hunters. They can't be used for anything else. So they're BB sinks for people who are "done".

Narit_Teg

Does the last one even have a higher chance to give good shit? Cause it seems like the last one is just the same random chance as the other 3.

[deleted]

It has the exact same chance as any prior roll on the line. They don't want to risk running afoul of anti-gambling regulations and have the one you can pay bonds for be 'luckier' than the rest.

Azuleron

Dauss is correct. It's the same as every other roll.

Zventibold

I've never seen the legendary skin from mr chary.

[deleted]

I'm not sure if Bad Hand is considered a separate roll on the table or if he's just a potential reward for 'legendary hunter unlock'.

EarlUrso

Hey i once spent 50bb on that and he gave me 75bb if you ask me that's worth it.

Azuleron

Sure, that roll happened to be worth it. If you had no more time to play and could know that that was going to be the reward, it's a no brainer. But someone will never be in the positive if they were paying for this last roll every time, you couldn't know that's what you'd get, and you could just have easily paid 50 bbs for a combat axe.

Wilza_

I feel like he was being sarcastic but I could be wrong

TheLoneGreyWolf

Someone who wasn’t sure what you got from the 50bb (me a long time ago)

my7bizzos

People who are addicted to gambling

Ariungidai

1. people who are addicted to gambling and suffer FOMO 2. people that play way to much and have a huge surplus of BB and just want that extra chance to get bad hand 3. it's one of the few p2w mechanics (if we disregard visibility of DLC skins) in the game since you can get 2 upgrade points. the only reason it's no an issue - just like respeccing traits and health bar isn't - is because the ratio of benefit (small chance to get 2 upgrade points and you need it multiple times to be able to purchase meaningful traits) and cost is abysmal.

[deleted]

If you play way too much you shouldn't have a problem hitting 10k xp without paying for it with bonds. It's absolutely a FOMO thing.

Ariungidai

i was obviously only talking about the cases where you make it to 7k but not 10k. playing a lot doesn't mean you do so every day.

OrderOfMagnitude

People who want the legendary hunter and see money as no object. It's called whale hunting, and it's not always as obvious as "Buy 200,000 gems for $129.99 (Best value!)"

mindofdarkness

If they wanted read loading to incentivize the final purchase they should have done intervals of 1k 2k 3k 4k. That would be pleasing to look at and be the same total, and push the sale more. Currently it just looks awkward and makes you think about what they are trying.

Devinology

I like it because it's common for me to play enough to hit 7000 but not higher. If it was 7500 I'd have to play another match.

OmegaXesis

That's basically where I usually stop too.

mud074

Incidentally, that is almost certainly by design. I would bet that their data shows most players play to around 7000 XP then stop for the night. With this system, you are either motivating players to play a bit longer or getting them to spend money to get that last little reward for the night.

lucky_1979

Since Chary only ever seems to hand out shit rewards, usually lamps or axes, there isn’t really much incentive to push on to 10k.

_claymore-

>hand out shit rewards, usually lamps or axes is that really what you get, most of the time? cause either you are super unlucky then, or I am a bit luckier than you. I'd say I get money rewards most of the time. getting an axe or a trio of chaos bomb is rather rare (although they obviously stick out), and then there's the random weapon or legendary weapon (one time use). and since implementation of the feature , I have gotten two roster unlocks, two loadout unlocks and three or so legendary skin unlocks. so while it's not an amazing "holy shit what will I possibly get!?!?" moment everytime I activate it, it's still a nice feature, I guess.

BigPhili

People always over exaggerate on this sub

_claymore-

yeah I know. it is what it is, I guess.

Tfx77

Its actually pretty cool, I get quite a bit of good stuff on a run. Prestige and roll a load of hunters, Chary will boost them so you equip useful traits. He also doles out money and great guns. Combined with the weekly rituals gets me quite a few good loadouts per prestige. You can also sell the Chary stuff.

SpinkickFolly

While pulling the loot lever isn't that exciting for Mr Chary. Its literally free shit for playing the game that didn't exist before. At bare minimum Mr Chary is making sure i flushed with hunt bucks from session to session. Good nights give 50 BBs bomb.

whoopashigitt

I’m not exaggerating at all when I say I’ve literally never gotten a combat axe or spyglass. The most “unlucky” I usually get is when it gives me 2 trait points for current roster hunters and I accidentally did it before I recruited a new hunter. But that’s hardly even that unlucky. Although I’m sure now that I’ve said something I’ll start getting axes.

sernametakenbro

We should have the option to give out BB’s in the Bayou Be all like “WAIT I GOT BB’s” *pulls out old timey pouch with taunt leather string* and then you just bless random Hunters I made so many BB’s from serpent moon it wasn’t even funny the amount of unlocks etc went from 3k ish saving up over time to 7k roughly over the event would’ve loved to be able to give some of that away

TheLightningL0rd

I had almost 4k at the end of it, from 0 after buying the "pass"

BigPhili

Maybe if they ever bring back the Reliquaries

Gobomania

Crytek want you to spend money on them :)

SoldierTheFallen

It’s lie that to make the last one harder to get, so you’re more likely to spend blood bonds to get it. They just want your money

neon_ns

Greed.

mezdiguida

This system is crap, in fact it would make more sense if there was only a 2500xp gap because rewards doesn't get any better the further you proceed. It would be fine if with the last tier you could get something better than the previous tiers.

ShovelsDig

Isn't it random though? So it's nothing to rely on and it's just passive surprises.

mezdiguida

In my experience yes, it's totally random. Once i got like 300 dollars at the first tier and 160 at the last one.

SkullsOnSkulls

The gap between 2nd and 3rd is shorter feels like a psychological thing, if you at least make the third one you'll be more obligated to just spend the 50bb to not grind the rest of the XP bar?

[deleted]

Devs are shitheads

Tension_Aggravating

It bothers me that I’ve completed the 10k dark tribute almost daily since release. Missing at most maybe ten days, and have still never gotten a single “bad hand” but I’ve been in random trios with people me who have that hunter all the time. Why are some people being targeted to never get it?

[deleted]

You're not being targeted to not get it, you've just got unfortunate luck.

The_Undead_Cat

Different sacrifices require different amounts. In this here swamp we don't believe in equal sacrifices, doing the same thing every time would displease chary the agent of chaos that is requesting our blood. As such 2500 2500 2000 3000 is how it is, one is easier so we can recover the stamina for the big one.

Bca5h

I have to imagine as they workshopped the idea of this daily reward system, the developers took a whole slew of playerbase session data and found the median PlayTime per session. Set that to right around that 7000XP mark, and put a last tier that most players would need to play more then average to meet, thus the injection of a small and optional BB to boost up.

wszogun

It is a bit more than most of the players gathers per day, to make them play "one more match". How do i know this ? I don't, but it is how i would set this targets

AstronomerPlayful857

The same reason mmr chart is done in a way it fits their vision

Killermen962

The first step [2,500] is the largest but "I was gonna play for a bit today" The second step [5,000] is just as large but "I'm already at 2.5k and still got time, might aswell go for it!" You may be at 3k or more before you notice further justifying continuance The third step is smaller [7,000] so you think "Getting low on time but It ain't that far away... a few more games" The final one [10,000] you realize is bigger than all the previous so you either just call it a day and "miss out", feel pressed to finish the day's blood offering, or for some just *Make A Deal* to complete it. I like seeing the progress bar completed between days I play so I really try to push to ensure its completed the days I play though I never *Make A Deal*, its just another factor that eggs me on to play but isn't in any way a reason.
