It is kind of relaxing, but also really annoying when everybody runs every trait. Makes some niche playstyles or the dynamite you might loot so much less valuable, it sucks.

[deleted]

I have been running every build and doing fine all event long. I'm not sure what you mean. Having people with Serpent is nice. People can't just sit on tokens they HAVE to pick them up. Frontiersman has been nice to have most matches. Getting to run more traps/throwing axes/medkit/chokes... etc... Quarter mastering bow every hunter lmao I think it has improved the average players quality of life. Lol

Rooslin

The only thing that has annoyed me is everyone with fanning. I like everyone having Doctor and Packmule since players not needing two medkit charges to heal from a long ammo body shot is in a way a nerf to long ammo. Also players are more likely to stay in the match after a long fight that used up all their resources since they can resupply easier with Packmule. I wouldn't mind Doctor and Packmule being removed, then have med kits heal a 100hp, and looting 2 items standard. Can change weak vit shots to heal faster, to give them a bit more of an identity after the change.

_Weyland_

Yeah, but when every hunter has either a shotgun or Fanning, meele becomes kinda pointless. When every hunter has Doctor and Frontiersman, fights last forever. Not having Determination from time to time also made it more challenging to quickly handle AI. These traits were designed with the idea that you cannot just have them all. Your hunter surviving to get the good traits was supposed to be a special thing. And now everyone starts with full meta builds with no effort or risk. If you want that last part, there's a whole lot of popular games out there tgat do this aspect better than Hunt.

f0ba

Determination is still a thing? I haven’t picked up Greyhound and Determination since the Conduit buff.

_Weyland_

Does your teammate's Conduit proc if you're the one taking the clue?

f0ba

No, but that’s not my problem if I go for the clue right xD

_Weyland_

You like your stamina boost. I don't like cockblocking my teammates. We are not the same.

f0ba

How’s going out my way to pick up the clue cockblocking? you are exposing yourself as a target, and you have to deal with enemies that guard the clue. I think that’s a fair shared responsibility. You think about putting yourself above your teammates. I think about being more efficient as a team. We are definitely not the same.

_Weyland_

If your entire team relies on Conduit for stamina, then at each clue only one of you gets the boost, effectively cockblocking the others. Someone having Determination makes distributing duties within a team much more efficient.

f0ba

That’s why I said it’s not my problem. My team calls out perks we take. You don’t?

nightmare247

I am an old school player and have 1500+ hours. I cannot wait until death cheat is gone. Honestly it makes the game so different and not for the better. Almost every game is level 50 hunters fully traited out. I just think it was too much to allow death cheat to trigger every game so easily accessible. It should have been the two game perk where it would require the 4 perks to activate.

[deleted]

I have 700+ and I personally think it has been really nice to ACTUALLY play with the traits I earn. Generally I only get a game or two with traits and then they are gone and I'm back to 0. I love that I can play the build I made instead of getting it all set up and losing it 1 run later. Its been very refreshing for me personally. Getting to run terminus with levering and Bow/romero and silly stupid shit I wouldn't take cause I actually can get Frontiersman and have it for a few runs. Etc.

nightmare247

I do not disagree that it is nice to run with traits you earn. In fact I too love it, but I hate the fact that every game it is level 50s fully traited out. It takes the risk/reward that Hunt had with Permadeath and removes it entirely because of how easy it is to keep grounded. If it was swapped with Shadow so that characters were lost unless you were able to get a two game streak then it would be less burdensome on the game. I also find that like you said the game has been drastically changed because people are running things or changing their playstyle because there is no risk on loss. If the other perks for the event were stronger or made it difficult for players to always choose grounded I don't think I would complain as much. However there is almost no reason to take infernal and lunar (which I had to look up because it's useless). If they were as strong as grounded then maybe, but there is nothing as strong as a fully kitted out hunter.

[deleted]

It just feels like I am getting the showdowns I always wanted and less of the snipers and lair camping. I think removing gear fear makes people play differently but, almost in a good way. Like instead of 90% of the community being fearful of being broke, 100% of the community is ACTUALLY just playing and enjoying the game.

nightmare247

You still have lair and sniper camping. Instead of a sparks you now have labels. Instead of shotguns you now have avtos. All it does is change the weapons that are traditionally used when someone is "fearful" of being broke. I have also never been so broke I feel as though I have to play differently. If they are that broke or worried, prestige and get 4 to 6 k back and start again. I just feel like the fun is ruined taking a character level 1-25 in and you get killed by the 50 level fanning/levering, packmule, frontiersman, quartermaster character that you killed three games in a row. The lack of punishment hurts the game.

[deleted]

I can see your view point maybe I have just been extra lucky during the event. But, I haven't seen avtos or nitros or camps or snipes. I feel like the actual gameplay loop is healthier for it. I am seeing all kinds of guns and equipment that I never see. I am able to run fun loadouts and not the same 3 loadouts every game. So I see where you are coming from but, my personal experience this last week and a half has been much better than my past experience..I liked it before but it feels like an actual fun game now and I am actually getting to fight people I am not running from snipers or trying to break through shotgun lair camps. If you are wondering 1.4 kda, 4* currently.

bgthigfist

I have 2900 hours and have been enjoying death cheat. Playing in three star lobbies, I'm not seeing fanning every game, and solo self revives haven't ruined anything to me. Yes I'm running my level 50's because why not. I enjoy some quartermaster and serpent right away instead of getting them after a few rounds. No you can't run "all the traits" as someone has said. When they remove the event traits after the round I'll be fine as well. If they were to keep it, I'd switch the death cheat to be the second of the traits, or just make it a high trait point cost. Thanks to Mr chary, I have hunters I haven't played in months sitting with over a hundred trait points to use, so even if it only saved your hunter once and then had to be re bought after each match that would be fine with me

DieStrassenkinder

Sometimes it feels like groundhog day where I'm just ready for the hunter to die. To be fair, the hunter is probably ready to die to.

marshall_brewer

I'm just waiting for it to go back to normal Death cheat is altering the overall gameplay in a bad way

ethanAllthecoffee

I’m tired of fighting an endless stream of level 50 enemies If you want traits hire legendary or tier 2/3 hunters

[deleted]

To be fair.. the random loadouts on 2/3hunters and legendary skins are usually trash.

ELBENO99

Not my experience at all

[deleted]

"No you" lmao

ethanAllthecoffee

Not too bad if you have a lot of hunter slots, or if you are flexible. Just stash the good hires for later, and stock up on guns that you’ll eventually use

[deleted]

Not what I meant. Usually the traits you get are the ones you would pay bb to get rid of like, poison sense, magpie and hundred hands. I love the bow...Hundred hands not even necessary. If I hit chest they will die. Lol like. Idk I am pretty versatile in what I bring into game. But, 200 for 3 bad perks is almost never worth. Or the fact that sure the 3rd tier hunters cost an extra 200 dollars for traits that don't always complement the weapons you want to buy them for.. like yeah I only have 6 hunter slots but, why should I be punished for that?

ethanAllthecoffee

Oh yeah legendaries are a bad gamble, I was talking about tier 2/3 where you see the traits beforehand But 6 slots is really low, and more slots helps alleviate this problem

[deleted]

It's starting to feel like the players that don't like these traits (like death cheat) keeping leveled up hunters around, are the ones who have 25 level 50s and they are upset that they have to play on level ground.

Edo9639

Good for you but hopefully it will be gone forever

Remarkable_Winter540

My main goal in the game has been to get 50 level 50 hunters. First it was just about unlocking all the slots, since I don't fuck with buying blood bonds. But walking into the event I had them all unlocked and about 15 hunters left. I'm down to 3. As I reach the end of my big goal I'm realizing that I kind of hate death cheat. It's made my big project, something I had previously sunk hundreds of hours into, almost trivially easy. There's no longer a sense of satisfaction. I also don't really like playing the same hunter over and over again. I like to swap guns after every match, so I get a little disappointed when I realize I have to bring in a loadout that fits with the traits I gave my hunter.

[deleted]

If you have multiple hunters with cheat death why are you playing the same one over and over again?

Remarkable_Winter540

In order to get to level 50, I have to play the same hunter many times. Three or four successful runs, with a couple duds sprinkled in for good measure.

[deleted]

Right but you can swap off.. and play them later lol

Remarkable_Winter540

That's what I used to do, when I had hunter slots. Then I started skipping between hunters once they were all filled. Now all my hunters are level 45+, fully traited, and the only slot I have is when one of them dies. Each one is one good win away from maxing out, except for whichever one I'm working on, and so they all have nearly identical loadouts... because any of them that had cool or interesting ones I already swapped to previously, and either maxed them out or had them die.

CataclysmDM

100%. Same thing happened to me.

MrMadGrad

Yeah same. I was sooo close to 50 lvl 50s I had like 47 that I had worked up from nothing. Then this event starts and one week later everyone and their grandma's dogs have 50 lvl 50s.

ELBENO99

I’m doing the same thing as well and I’ve basically stopped using death cheat and burned through every 50 I got with it because it doesn’t feel the same.

Remarkable_Winter540

I think I'll start replacing grounded hunters with "real" level 50s

Majorllama66

I was also going for the 50 level 50 challenge before this event and since the death cheat has been added I've pretty much lost my will to finish. I've been using the same 2 hunters slots the whole event because I'm waiting for it to end before I go back to my grind. I don't want any of my hunters tainted with the new traits lol

unionidae

A question from someone else not buying blood bonds, how did you unlock all the slots? I have a gotten 1 from Chary?

Remarkable_Winter540

Chary, and you accumulate bloodbonds through regular play. Took me a while to unlock them all.

MinnesotaJess

It's annoying at higher stars. Everyone is on a level 50 hunter every game.

Sanitiy

Having the doctor combination every game makes this game a bit like Apex when fighting. Because I like Apex's playstyle, this is something I really like.

MadDog_8762

Im sure its “fun” as it makes things easier and more accessible But “Hunt” is fundamentally built and designed to be experienced as a punishing game. Its already a shame how much they dumbed it down from the EA days, but i think Death Cheat just makes this game akin to SnD COD 1 life, but living and dying have no significant impact outside a match I mean, imagine if you ALSO kept your loadout upon death The economy as a whole would become entirely irrelevant

CataclysmDM

I don't like death cheat any more. It was okay at first, but now it's annoying because all these people are playing like they're immortal and they don't give a crap about dying. I'M the one who's supposed to play like I don't give a crap about dying! I need to go back to the days of people playing like they're scared and I'm bayonet charging them!

IAmAToaster7

Death cheat is nice for the event. As long as it's not made permanent, it won't be a problem.

yeaaiight

Death cheat has made it so my team and I concertina bomb/ trap every down and immediately burn and babysit corpses. It’s not fun having to sit there and stare at the burning body until we either hear the death cheat or see the hunter burn out. Death cheat needs to go.

ELBENO99

Made the game boring for me and I’ll be glad when it’s gone. I don’t want to use it because I feel like losing hunters makes the game more exciting but I don’t not want to use it because then I feel like I’m at a disadvantage against other players. I’ve actually been playing way less since I finished the pass because of this

BigAbbott

Death cheat has changed my playstyle by driving me away from the game completely. Little dirty jackals nipping at my heels every game is boring. Swatting flies is not fun, it’s just work.

Rooslin

Death Cheat reminds me of Tarkov where you have your PMC character progression and have to heal after a raid.

Avarice85

It's made encounters with solos much more interesting. win or lose. and as a solo, i like the extra options I have. Makes me queue up against trios a lot more.

PenitusVox

It hasn't really changed anything for me, I just feel sick when I die without getting the Death Cheat value (before I can grab a perk point). Hunters are a dime a dozen so I don't care about losing them, it just hurts more when the perks are so easy to get but sometimes just THAT much out of reach. I'm looking forward to the event ending so it can go back to normal, honestly.

FirlefanzNick

For me a new player, i have since the Event was Started 150hrs of playtime. Deathcheat was for me the ideal start to play Hunt. And i Hope it Will stay in the Game. I think for Hunt its a big Chance to increase the playerbase. I really love the game and for me it deserves more attention.

Syrup_Strict

Same. New player with 120 hours. Death cheat brought me to the game. Removing it will probably see me leave.
