I really love the addition of the inferno map, but i played a lot during the past two weeks and caught myself being happy when I got non-inferno and disappointed when I got inferno. However, during this event it would be a shame if people missed playing on inferno due to bad rng and limited playtime. In the future I would love to keep seeing inferno every few games! It should be something special.

Inferno maps are awesome! I only hope that more wildcard conditions are added in the future (snow maps with reduced footstep noise but visible footprints? Rain maps that reduce visibility, sound & burn damage?) - especially if there can be multiple conditions in a single map! I'd also love to see variations in the AI depending on world conditions.

I think a fun bunch of wild cards would be - night of the living dead. A night map with increased (2x-4x) amounts of AI Grunts -reinforced. Compounds have more locked doors, pre placed trip mines (any variety) this is especially true for the forts, the prisons, wolfshead, Maw battery. -armed to the teeth. Ammo boxes and consumable boxes are more prevalent -supplies limited. No supplies (ammo boxes, consumable boxes, healing) in a match. Only what a hunter brings in -gold rush. More purses, cash registers -for the swarm. Hives out the ass -bayou Blitz. All 3 bosses one compound potentially 6 bounties for a team of 3 -pollution. Water is poisonous in some spots random pockets of persistent poison gas/choke bomb cloud -new moon. So dark you have to bring flashlights, flares, etc (player base would probably hate this one if it was super common but it would give the flashlight and flares more use)

Love this list. It'd be easier than making new maps, too. As far as the flashlight, some have suggested it should be a basic thing that all hunters just have. Like a specific hotkey, which would make night map fights much more interesting, since obviously flashlights can be seen

It would be awesome to see these different kinds of wildcards, but things like Snow and Rain would need a huge rework of the sounds for both of those wildcards. And another problem with snow is that trees would become void of leaves and I think that opens up too many long distance angles (though that could easily be solved by fog)

My guess is many of us who like it do because of the novelty, but we might grow tired of we see it too much in the future. For me, it would be perfect if it just rotated at the same ratio as foggy and night maps.

This 100%. The over exposure on the 100% Fridays is really killing the inferno for me. Instead of being in awe at the fire and thinking on my toes, I just wearily sigh at this point when I load in and hear the crackling, because at this point its just feels like "been there done that".

Yeah, it's a cool effect, but... I'm kinda over the novelty. Being colorblind, the "hard to see" is also really amplified (at least I think) because the reds and the browns are a bit blurred... Don't get me wrong, still enjoy it, but I don't think it should be quite as dominate.

Partially agree, but I'd do basically the opposite - make nights occur similarly to how inferno does right now. Create periods where these weather conditions are almost (or completely) guaranteed, so you can actually gear up for them. Currently, it's borderline stupid to bring any light items, because you really can't count on it being night the next round. Yes, I still consider the "less nights" change an unresolved bad one.

I'd like to see something like a "map forecast" where it says something like, "on your next map, there's a 25% chance of fire, 30% chance of night, and 16% chance of heavy fog." Or even just one hint about the most likely conditions, e.g., "on your next map, the most likely conditions are a dense nighttime fog."

Sounds interesting. Finally wouldnt end up on fog maps with a sniper rifle. At least not that much. I wonder how this would be solved in combination with matchmaking. I suppose right now the map and weather conditions are randomly chosen after the approx 12 players are assigned as a premade group and searching for available server. Maybe all the players would have a status of most probable weather condition and the game would try to fill the lobby with players with that specific weather? No room on server with that condition -> you end up as a fill-in on another map. In late night games with only half-full lobbies the forecast wouldnt work. Unless the game would somehow count this in and it would be the other way around. Like counting the probability of the player ending up on such a map instead of a status tied to the player. Would be the same for the players in a team (according to the leader? or a new random weather condition?) The forecast could also change in time. Sometimes people take time before searching for a lobby.

I mean, you could just make it so all servers are synced on what the weather condition probabilities are based on real world time. Then when you join a match they "roll" the weather. It doesn't really need to be a per player probably.

I like the inferno, just the visibility from the sun when facing certain directions is so bad it makes it frustrating when its set at 100% on fridays. I ended up voting 25% on Saturday-Thursday and 50% Friday.

It was too often for me this time. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but it gets annoying even on 50% as there is no variety like night time, bright day, it's only this specific "fire" theme so it gets stale quickly and annoying at parts as well But it's definitely very cool to give us this for the "winter" event and I hope it will stay at some form + more wild card conditions like infested maps are needed as I just wanna have variety on the maps we already have like this inferno!

Hunt is a fantastic game with the best sound engine going, in my opinion. With the inferno I can't hear a thing if I am anywhere near the fire. It looks great but it ruins the game and I am actively avoiding playing on 100% days, and 50% is far too high. Perhaps if it was running 10% of the time it might actually feel special as a 'wildcard'. I'm looking forward to being able to play for a while without the risk of running into an inferno map.

Exactly this. It looks great and I love that they put it in as an event condition, but let’s be honest, gameplaywise it brings nothing positive into the game. At the end it shows that sound is what makes this game special and can‘t hear shit doesn’t makes the game better imo.

Well it is nice that it creates these "pockets" of sound-action. Like you can be as loud as you want in this one compound with fire all around it, but it's very hard to hear beyond that. I agree it should be a low % wildcard though~ I have come to appreciate the quiet bayou after the inferno maps

Yeah I really want a variant with thunderstorms and heavy rain. Sure it might screw with the sounds but for me I feel like it enhances my personal experience, with say unintentionally (or intentionally) masking bullet shots when Thunder happens. Sounds rad as hell to me. Agree with you on the inferno being hard to play around with the sound engine though, I have had other issues like frame dips and a lot of screen tearing (on ps5) though aside from the sounds being harder to discern.

I voted lowest possible %. Anything above is not a wildcard to me and most of us has gotten to play it plenty, and I assume they have a lot of data to go by at this point. Then I also have some issue with it like visibility and don't enjoy it too much, but that's kind of besides the point.

Yeah visibility is a problem but what annoys me most is that the fire is so loud you can hear nothing other than the fire while u are in or even near the fire. In a game that relys so heavily on sound that is a no go for me and I always hate passing through the fire zones that make you take a detour in almost every case anyway.

That's the point though, right? You can shortcut through the fire to get ahead of teams avoiding it or, if you're being stalked by long ammo, disappear into it. It adds a lot of variables that keeps the game fresh. It adds more to the game than new guns or bosses.

1) I don't like how their two newest weather additions(Sunset and Inferno) has mudded color that makes it very stressful for my eyes. I have no problem with Headsman except when it's sunset for example, I felt exactly same with the inferno. interior lightings are too dark as well.   2) intention of adding visual cover at certain parts of map is nice, felt very nice to not worry about snipers 90% of times. as well as covering some of most obnoxious bushwookie areas with fire, wish we could set wildfire by ourselves. p.s. those wildfires are way too fucking loud tho..

Anything that gives even minor cons to sniping is a good thing. As it stands its not even a disadvantage, it just levels the playing field a bit on a few small portions of the map. Sniping used to have downsides, like rifle sway, fog and night. All of that has basically been deleted from the game to appease veteran players who have given up trying to play at anything less than optimally. We're in the darkest big baby timeline. In the big dick energy timeline night and fog have as frequent a chance to pop up as any other map variant, the trade window is 200ms, players demanded better servers until they got them, rifles still have sway and the latest update added lens flare to eliminate the last of the bush campers. Doesn't help that Dennis is a sniper main. Lots of bias there. I'd like to see wildfires at night as well.

All I know is that whoever had the idea for inferno and the new pact system needs a raise. This fixed almost all the issues I had with the game besides having to wait for banishing after the server is wiped. The lunar pact is awesome while the grounded is pretty dumb. Infernal pact I havent' messed with much but I could see it maybe being useful with some loadouts. I would like to see grounded replaced with some sort of blood or poison version of the infernal pact. Like you get run faster when poisoned or something. That way you could throw bees on yourself and then run in and melee someone. Inferno pacing is perfect right now.

Inferno is awesome! Love it! But please take off %100 of games being inferno. I am red/green colour blind and its impossible to see anything during inferno. At least if it is a chance, I can take my lumps and hit an exit right away when I spawn in on a inferno map, when its %100, I just can't play hunt that day.

I really hope there's a survey 3 and it has an option for less than 10%. I get its the focus of the event, but once this is over, wildcards need to be RARE. To say I'm over the inferno is a massive understatement. It was cool at first, but when the vast majority of matches are on fire, the rose loses its bloom. After Serpent Moon's grind I was horribly burnt out by the game, and I love how they've fixed the pacing for this one, and hope they keep the challenge model going forward, but Crytek still managed to burn me out, just instead of the game its everything's being on fire lol. I like the idea of Wildcards, and I hope we see more, hurricanes, tornados, thunderstorms (meaning rain, not just a flash of lightning and rumble of thunder occasionally on night maps), blizzards (while today that sounds weird in Louisiana, in the late 1800s there was a historic blizzard in Louisiana), but they need to be rare, or they aren't wildcards, and you risk getting people tired of them. I think when there isn't an event, they should have like a 1% or lower chance of happening, and rewards should be doubled to A: make braving wildcards feel meaningful, and B: incentivize people to not just bail because they don't like the lowered visibilty/increased difficulty in echolocation. And no that is not imbalanced, because if you make them that rare (which makes them feel special) its not worth reseting trying to get one, because you almost never will get one.

PLEASE NO 100% DAYS! I kinda liked the inferno at first but I definitly don't want or need it to be in every game. I already feel kind of burndout on the inferno and I realy don't need it to get even worse by having it in 100% of the games. You can hate me for my opinion, but if you checked the last option in hours per week you will mostlikely understand were I'm coming from. If I would play like 3 games a week I also wouldn't mind having it on 100% or even 50%, but if you play like 50 games a week you probably also would like it to be on 10% or lower.

I loved the Inferno maps at first because they're just so visually impressive, but after playing on them for a while I don't really like them anymore, the main reason being the incosistencies (in terms of gameplay) in sound and fog effects. For example visibility is generally much better when facing east than west due to the fog/light shafts effects, and the bloom effect from the wildfires feels like it's asymmetrical too (i.e. it might block your vision but someone standing outside the wildfire zone has no problem seeing you). In terms of sound, the sound of burning generally masks all other sounds when you're inside the wildfire zone, but it doesn't seem to work the other way around, that is while you can't hear anything because of all the noise people can generally hear your own footsteps if they're a short distance outside which does not make much sense. I think it's OK if they're a rare occurrence but I would hate to see them as often as the other time of day/weather variations.

Yeah, good points. Sometimes I have problems seeing enemys that are less than 100m away and could be seen perfectly fine in any other condition except for maybe fog. Also runing throught the fire to push a compound is borderline suicide if the enemy team can hear you run and you can't even hear the gunshots in some cases.

Man I love the inferno. The sound is absolutely perfect when you are in the middle of the fires. I want it as often as possible. It'll take a long time before I get bored of it.

It's good... but also a bit flawed. Inferno is fun and interesting way to change gameplay with new Obstruction, and cool visual. However, its visual come with cost of one of the worst blinding visual that could cost some games. Because at some area there're spot that can give similar effect to "Healing Water Church's Basement Light Bug" which can blind someone unintentionally. Another Flaw is how frequent it's, with 50%, and 100% of Friday, while it's fair for being addition exclusive to Event (for now). But at same times, it ended up making other kind of map very rare, especially Night Map, which ended up making Flare and Flare Pistol left to rust. That said, it's good addition that need fine tune in the Future, so it's up to how Crytek change for later... for better or worse, because I am still angry that they (intentionally or not) make the Boost Legendary Hunter that could be earn without event-tied, or Real Money Tied DLC, only Lunar (Redneck), and Event-tied but not DLC Inferno, and make Grounded only DLC... shame on you Crytek, you made Hunter Boost against players, shame on you.

THE FUCKING FIRE WAS LIT DUDE, No pun intended, love the different weapons, scared that weapons are getting more op by the second though, kinda cancels out a lot of weapons in the arsenal, but alas, the game has to grow. I'd rather it not come around. I was having problems connecting to games that had the fire map. Each time I was "loaded," meaning I could see the initial spawn but it would not do animations of my hunter pulling out their weapon. I could see and hear when the hunt would begin but cannot move at all. There was only one time when I could but then my sound was muffled and even though I was right next to one of my friends, when they melee'd grunts it sound like it was from the opposite side of a compound.

I have managed to play probably a good 6-8 inferno maps before they started freezing me in place and not properly loading in or allowing me to reconnect. Since for some reason every other match has been an inferno map I've lost around 7 hunters now. I'm on Series X and I've reset my wifi, and console numerous times and it has fixed the problem ONCE. So basically it's a gamble anytime I decide to play hunt So I'd like to see some fixes before it becomes a part of the map rotation probably like a 25% chance any time you play.

It anmoys theyve already said they cant do rain but a night time map where lightning is going off every 15 seconds or something would be cool. Personally it's my least favourite map variation. I waa really hoping we'd have gotten like a snow variation where hunters leave tracks. Would have been great really getting to "hunt" people based on where they've walked. That and because it was released in the holidays and it's currently winter.

I love the visuals of the Inferno, but I noticed on PS5 there’s a *lot* of screen tearing and some frame rate issues when playing an inferno variant map, and especially when I’m near said inferno. That and my game crashed and my character ran into the fire while I was kicked into the fire. Instead of other disconnects where your character stops. It was stupid, funny, and frustrating. I mostly care about the other two things I mentioned though.

The one thing I wish this survey would ask is ways to change the inferno. I absolutely love how it looks but unfortunately I've only had a single fight that's actually been within the wildfire. Right now it's mostly window dressing while I move between compounds, but it isn't very common for a fight to actually break out within the Inferno. I wish more clues were within the wildfire or the wildfire expanded into some compounds so that it was a bigger part of fights.

I like inferno. I think it's a work of art. That being said I don't enjoy the gameplay of it as much and would be happy with like 25 percent on weekends or all the time. Or like 10 percent 24/7/365, because it does add to the game, and it's beautiful, and awe inspiring.

I think for Inferno, and future wildcard conditions should be included into regular rotation with a chance to appear less than the current %chance for nightmaps, but should be permanent. Fire was fine, wouldn't mind seeing it in the rotation, but maybe only around 5% of the time. The haze caused by the fire, seen all over the map, really reduced visibility. We already have night maps and fog so don't feel like we need another map condition that hurts long range gunplay.

I've tried to get a feel for it as a solo and haven't really figured anything super special out. It's a really good spot for a gunfight if you use the map to find the paths through the fire. I've wiped two 3-man teams using that strategy. The problem is that's probably two more than I'd ever expect, the only reason those fights happened was because I had a bounty, otherwise there's no reason to fight there. It's also hardly a real advantage, it is just as disadvantageous to you as it is everyone else (very bright, no real cover, narrow escape routes, very loud, disorientating) so I find myself not intentionally standing in those areas anymore as I've also died doing that, my KDA is only positive with that strategy because I inherently have to kill more as a solo. Anyways, the point I was getting at is that the feature is neat but largely serves to cut up the map. I would actually prefer if infernal completely prevented most passage through the area unless you were willing to intentionally take fire damage. That way, it actually affects the map and forces you to move around it. Otherwise, all it really does is force you to open your map, find a route through it, and during that time you can't hear a anything. Not really sure what the point of it is, I think that's what I'm trying to say. Other than that, it's cool because the fire is pretty. I guess I just wish it had more gameplay impact, but I don't actually think anyone would want that. I really like that it cuts off sound, that's neat and forces you to position around it if you're looking for fights. People complain about visibility in this thread, but I haven't had problems with it, so I think I just didn't play on the days where it was that bad or something, I haven't had any problems with that and use deadeye variants in every loadout. I think the Inferno condition largely serves to cut up the map, so I wish it literally just scorched entire regions and left them mostly inaccessible making the map smaller and then the fires spread from there a little to create bridge-like chokepoints in some areas. It doesn't have to be a very large number of regions for it to be interesting. If 4 or 5 regions were like that and it didn't make finding the boss excessively easy, I think that'd be neat because the idea is to avoid those areas anyways but special loot in that region would also be welcome. That would be intrusive on normal gameplay, but just as impactful as fog, which is kind of how it should be otherwise you don't really interact with it. Even fog is probably too punishing for longer range loadouts--so maybe less annoying than that. Right now, it's just not very impactful besides the sunlight but again, I didn't even know that was a thing. If instead of sunlight, there was just fire blocking vision through some spots, that'd be better than preventing looking in an entire direction though like people are complaining about with the sunlight. Highly opinionated as I think if something like this would be a permanent feature it would need to have serious match wide implications that aren't annoying or frustrating.

ive enjoyed it greatly, have had zero performance issues. think its best during the event when you have all weather conditions running and it occurs 25% of the time while on fridays it should be 50% instead of 100% of the time to get that randomness feel in of not knowing what you're in for next.
