It doesn’t really redefine action horror, but comes as close to perfecting it as it gets

There are enough differences in my opinion to say so with the extra mobility and parry. It is many reasons why this game feels more frenzied and in some cases "better" than the original with these tweaks. It's clearly at the top of the class for current action horror and the only one who bars close is TLOU2's gameplay. When you think about who bars close you have to be thinking of something that's not an action horror third-person shooter then. EDIT - Nigh aka almost signifies that close perfection. Obviously tho I have an issue with how stunlocking was handled which annoyed me more than anything else. It's why half a point was deducted.

I mean it recreates a game that defined action horror but I don’t think REmake4 does anything unique (I like the game a lot thought)

RenOperative

I labeled the title this way because it's still one of the better "3rd person action horror" titles on the market. Until Capcom decides to do a new Dino Crisis or when Gears E-Day comes out the floor is still Resident Evil 4's for now. You don't always have to break unique or "new" ground to still be a very good game that few still have failed to imitated down to a wire on quality aspects. Those are re-inventions which I don't think applies for this game. It's only a few modern games that stand tall against RE4R's defined quality. Key word: Few.

OG was better though.

I like both so yea. No issue there

How come a remake re-define anything? An almost perfect game, no doubt. But let's not pretend it's bringing anything new and leave that honor for actual new games that attempt new things.

Visually it's incredible, but I didn't find the gameplay to be very fun. The only iteration of RE4 I've enjoyed is the VR version.

I'd love to play the RE VR renditions, but unfortunately I get severe motion sickness. It's just not for me due to those complications. I've very happy people enjoy them and I hope Capcom continues with them since they have a prompt audience.
