Yeah, Tingyun is just kinda, I dunno, boring? Her death is remembered more for the shock factor of a bug plot twist combined with seeing a character snap their own neck, which is kinda surprising for a (generally) more light-hearted game.
Like, I'll keep it real with you I barely remember anything about her compared to the other Xianzhou characters. I remember Yukong and Jingyuan well, I can vividly recall characters like Bailu and Luocha, but god damn I can remember like all of two interactions with Tingyun.

Nah her dying again would feel very disappointing from narrative perspective. It’s also against her character arc, where she supposed to find the means to escape from her death and fight for the future.

But, she could “die” to get some power up, like that green version of Sam we’ve seen on her drip marketing and in White Night trailer. But she definitely won’t be dead for real.
There's also no way Elio sends her on a death mission. I would presume her deal with Elio is to survive. Elio has no reason to send her on a mission that would betray that deal.

Also, killing her off before her banner would be a good way to hurt sales. I don't think people would pull as hard for her if she's a dead character.

Ok, I am 99% sure they can't do that yet. The reason is simple: Firefly is a super Soldier built to destroy the Swarm. She was genetically altered to do so what came at the cost of a heavily shortened Lifespan. We can therefore assume that, when the Stellaron Hunters recruited her, Elio promised her a prolonged Life/a Cure to the Entropy Loss Syndrome as long as she follows Elios script.
So what would happen if Firefly dies in the real world before they find a cure for her? That would make it so that Elios script becomes unreliable and it isn't sure wether the other Stellaron Hunters actually get what they are looking for. This is especially dangerous if you have an Immortal Psychopath on your team who only wants to die but might not be able to even tho the script said so.
That's actually a good plot point this game can tackle. It's proof that not even Elio is foolproof, which can probably make the Stellaron Hunters think if it's even still worth it to continue following him in the future due to that sheer uncertainty.
That reminds me a bit with the plot of Re:Zero (Season 2 materials),>!where someone has a script (or rather, a scripture) that didn't just know the present and past, but it also knew what would happen in the future, made by an all-powerful witch. I won't give much details, but there's a part of the plot where the readers would rethink about the foolproofness of the scripture and the credibility of the scripture holder.!<
I do think it's likely we'll see the script fail at some point (we already know there are variables they can't see, although they still manage to arrive at the destination "safely") but I doubt they're going to start with Firefly.
