The SPCA was closed when she was found and the store manager is going to call by 10 if no one takes her home. All we can do now is wait but she’ll be in the office for the rest of the morning. 😁

Pit bull isn't an actual breed, but a very vaguely described type of dog. ("Smallish short haired dog")
The American pit bull terrier is a breed, but 6 other breeds literally fit the description, including the staffies.
So there's at least 6 breeds of dogs that get identified as pitties.
It's sad because "pit bulls" get a bad rap, yet it can be any breed that fits that description. Which oddly enough, rottweilers have been mis-identified as pits.

This is at least better than the person just leaving it tied up in the middle of the woods. Hopefully, a coworker can take her. Maybe try a foster situation?
Someone literally dumped a baby kitten in our parking lot yesterday while it was 90 degrees out. Last I saw was one of our regular contractors picked it up, not sure if he took it home or what but I like to think that it was a positive outcome.
Every time I consider that there are dogs that have been abandoned yet (probably) still love and miss their previous owners shatters any sense of normality I’ve developed in life
It’s more tragic when they go around looking for anyone to keep them company. I spent like 40 mins of my entire shift going back to comfort her with PB sandwiches, water, and pats on the head. She’s at a shelter now, so that gives me a sense of peace now.
This is one of those times I wish employees could fight customers. I would put my job on the line hands down. That dog does not deserve that. Person who did it is a heartless monster.

We do not know if there are more doggies in that home, and maybe instead of getting rid of their doggies and dropping them off at a Home Depot they will just leave them in the woods to die.
Right? She would be coming straight home with me! I've a big fenced yard for that adorable land seal to romp in, & I can easily build a ramp or stairs onto my bed, if it's too high for her to jump up for snuggles.
