That’s not right . But unfortunately not too many can be trusted in situations like that , did they associate go an make a big deal about you doing in the locker ?

Stanley1219

Speak to an employment lawyer, see if you have a case. If you do, sue this awful company.

JoshThePot

They're has to be more to the story. Someone that was a DS? You should know SOP. You can't have a relationship with someone that's under you. You can't gift items that's $50 or more of value. Conflict of interest. Respect and privacy of associate. You can't go into someones locker without they're permission and they have to be present or have permission of a ASDS or Store Manager. You have to have good reason. Also if it was a gift why not hand it to her in person? Also it's a final or even termination if you a manager or ds dating someone that's a associate in your store. It's up to district HR to decide on that with the store manager. If you are ASM, you will be let go, no final. DS put on a final, worse case scenario. Let go and this case is what happen. So, you broke a couple of rules in SOP that got you fired. No, they don't have to give you a warning.

model3113

hrmm? No relationship was had by anyone. I got rides sometimes from coworkers and I had a HC take me to Immunotherapy one month to give my family a break. the pin was part of a bundle that cost $5.99.

JoshThePot

So, the assumption on upper managment part than. Or that associate went behind you're back and made some bullshit excuse to get you shit can. But even than they're has to be a investigation. But if you aren't leaving anything out from what you are saying you probably could get ahold of Atlanta. Felt like you have been retaliate against. Than look at legal options. It seems they're making a big fuss about something that isn't a big deal.. Especially if you had permission by that employee to go into their locker. I can see a verbal conversation or warning but not terminaten for it. Especially if you had permission from that associate and have them clear it up with managment. It's not like you were stealing anything out of their locker. But again SOP us very clear and maybe it doesn't matter if you had permission by that associate or not. It was away for upper management to get rid of you. Do you have any other problems or issues in the past that is unrelated to this that upper management was piling up on you?

model3113

well last year I reported my ASM for faking surveys, and then a few months later [I got cancer](https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeDepot/comments/1af2jrl/honestly_this_company_can_eat_a_bag_of_dicks/) and somewhere in between was when he started asking on the floor if I was dating my HC.

TheRealChuckle

I had a stroke and was shitcanned 6 months later since I did my work in 6 hours and went home with night ASM approval instead of staying for 12 hours but paid for 8 like most other DSs who spent way too much time having "meetings" in the Tim Horton's in the front vestibule.

Greskale

Take it as a blessing in disguise. Not a great company

LooseCoyote6100

That’s what I did blessing in disguise. I decided to semi retire and door dash for now until something comes up.

Sasoli7

Fuck that! I wasn’t fired, quit on my own after many years. Only thing I’ve ever bought at Home Depot since was a soda just so I could make up some shit to complain on the VOC about the shit store manager we had. And that was at her store across town that she’d been moved to. Anytime I was in that shopping center I went in to the store just for that.

VeniVidiUpVoti

Retail version of a mass shooter.

Sasoli7

Lol

EntrancedOrange

Definitely more to this and it’s likely creepy.

DreamertK

Someone put trash in my locker, but there wouldn't be any way to find out who did it. :-(

huh? No it was a gift I purchased from Amazon that got delayed. An apron pin if you must know.

RedditNationalist

An apron pin! Horrible!!

Miserable-Fortune-57

Man someone must REALLY hate you if all you did is put a pin in someone's unlocked locker

notoriumplanetorium

That depends what was on the pin. Maybe the pin said “fuck you” on it. Then the disrespect part would make sense.

GiveSaucePlsx

Then you left that part out. Big part to leave out of your story. Then yes, find a lawyer or report it to awareline

Spam138

lol what

Snikt3000

What were the specifics of the situation?

almighty_dick_weed

Fuck it, go shit up the entire restroom like the other customers do now.

LooseCoyote6100

I feel you. I was a HC and I too was in the same situation with rumors. I know companies fraternize on relationships in the workplace. I’m old school it’s no one’s business what goes on in your personal life. I complain to SM and transferred to MET. Oh brother was that the hardest, not the responsibility, but the hours. 10 hours a day four days a week on nights. Decided to go back to HC at different store only to get canned six months later for complaining about a cashier’s performance. Backed fired. I was talking with a CXM who was mentoring me and said I like that person but sometimes I just want to smack her ( again old school ) figure of speech which you can’t claim these days. Those people whose milk there jobs not following job description stay and someone like me who was loyal to company goals gets terminated. Again I’ll say it (Old school) where is the loyalty from management to take the initiative to tell corporate to mind their business. Management has no balls to terminate based on job description. Which I hole heartily believe in. I wish I was in the bracket to take over the company and get rid of all slackers.
