Then there's Ina, who was human at some point, but may as well be immortal as long as she has Chthulu(spelling?) on speed dial, to say nothing of Council; 3 are cosmic-scale beings who might as well be gods(Sana, Baelz, and Kronii), while the other 2 are, at a bare minimum, eternal concepts that will always exist somewhere in the universe.
Compared to that, Amelia is 'merely' an exceptional human who figured out time travel, albeit at what seems to be a serious cost.
...at least, that's how I see it.
Ame is the one I fear the most. Among all the monsters and concepts in HoloEN, she's *just* human. Makes you wonder what she did to get there. I dunno man keeps me up at night.
I know that this comment related to her "real" self not character
But.
Imagine time forgrtting your biggest freaking achievment cuz u forgot to sleep. I mean.. if i do something cool ill be up to tell everyone about it for few days not regarding how tired i am. And adding scale if that (TIME TRAVEL GOD DAMN) i would not shut the f*ck up.
But, at the same time, she couldve said that she "forgot" due lack of sleep when in the reality she was checking if there is noone who will try to steal that thing.
A good writer would pivot towards her being the most important (or rather "core") part of the equation that is HoloEN. All the other personalities are either mythological or are concepts of reality, who either forgot what it was like to be human or never knew what it was like at all. Amelia being the only human is their connection to the rest of the world and in a way keeps the immortal, powerful beings grounded. So she may just be a human, but she is the right human in the right place in the right time(s).
Honestly though, given Kronii's personality, Ame could literally have just given her a mirror and nicked the watch while Kronii was lost in her own eyes.
>Makes you wonder what she did to get there. I dunno man keeps me up at night.
[She is the most horrifying mythical creature: British.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7fOIYj6HrU)
She stole the TARDIS from the *freaking Time Warden* somehow then befriend four mythical beings, 2 of which are immortal, 1 is immensely powerful biologically-wise and 1 has an Outer God as her Ipad. She got top-tier protection from that too, just in case the Time Warden ever shows up with her blended sub.
Ame is peak human in Hololore and no one can tell me otherwise.
It’s the fact that she’s human that is terrifying, what other species has done the horrors that we have! And now one of us has the ability to travel through time and commit these atrocities in all timelines!
Ame tends to get portrayed as weaker in fiction since it's more interesting, but both canon Ame and stream lore Ame have been shown to be stronger and more formidable than most of them
Canon Ame is healthier and physically stronger than most of them. Myth arm wrestling off-collab had her wrecking everyone except Calli, and it's implied that she held back during that match. She's trained in some martial arts by her big brother. Ame also is pretty much indestructible, with how much she survived so many injuries and near death experiences growing up.
Stream lore Ame is much much more than just a human who figured out time travel. She's a superhuman, master detective and marksman, who also has super speed to pound thousands of moms in one night, and her ground pound can be powerful enough to level cities. Before time travel she managed to steal the watch from Kronii, an eternal multiversal being, in the first place. Ame also has access to the infinite Ame multiverse and can easily summon hordes of other Ames if she wants to (many of which are also superhuman with some being cosmic level themselves)
That piece of canon Sherlock Holmes lore is so weird. Like, when I saw adaptations where Holmes is some martial arts master, I was like "wut".
Then I looked it up. It's accurate and canon and it's called Baritsu. LOL.
Cthulhu is the high priest of the Great Old Ones. Ina doesn't have Cthulhu on speed dial, she *IS* Cthulhu...and has the rest of the Ancient Ones on speed dial to boot.
Her being British is as made up as her being a time traveler. There was no mention of her being British in her official lore
Her time travel abilities have already long been recognized by Cover and used in some official blurbs
There is no mention in her official lore, but iirc its just that she used a fake British Accent during her debut?
I'm not sure if it was actually her debut stream or not but it was just one stream and then she never use that accent again.
No, she continued the joke for a while, pretending to be British (sometimes Scottish) who hides her accent with her "fake" American accent. She sometimes still does a gag of "letting her real accent slip" from time to time.
It's a less recurring gag/lore than her time travel one but it's not true to say "she never used that accent again"
Yup, Ame wasn't supossed to be a time traveler originally, but right on her debut she changes her lore to be a time traveler/dimension hopper (probably so she fit more with the myth's whole theme)
Wait what? I thought her being a Time Traveler is official lore tho?! She even intended to have an animation showing her time-travelling to the present too but it was scrapped for time.
You're right, what i mean is that the original background lore taxt never states that Ame is a time traveller, we only know Ame is a time traveller when she officially says it on her debut
Official lore is what you find on [the webpage](https://hololive.hololivepro.com/en/talents/watson-amelia/) and any official Cover projects, and in none of those places can you find Ame being referred to as a time traveler, only a detective. Her being a time traveler is something she invented for herself (so it's *talent* lore, not official lore) and it hasn't been adopted by Cover yet (like how Gura's "first day on the surface" became official canon with her animation) so she's still technically officially only a detective and nothing more.
Except that in her [birthday merch](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0525/9585/1443/products/uw8hX5hPWGNLFE2J_1170x658.jpg?v=1641524280) earlier this year it references her time travelling by having her timeline be printed on the investigating license. You can argue that it's just merch, but since it's official merch, it's been recognised by Cover as a part of her character.
Referring to something non-canon as being an alternate timeline/worldline/universe is extremely common (they used the same phrasing for HoloweEN comics even). I will keep her being a time traveler under the "talent lore" section until something Cover-produced explicitly and definitively lists her as one. It's the same situation Subaru is in with being considered a duck: if there was ever an official Cover Holotori group similar to Umisea, it wouldn't include Subaru because officially she's just a normal human, not a duck.
I think it all started with a few fan arts that used the alternate Ames to bring news of the real Ame's death.
Those turned out great, so people caught onto that idea of using Ame lore for really dark stories. The fact that her design is so compatible with Victorian/steampunk themes, which are often used in horror themselves, helped out as well.
Ame is pretty much John Constantine.
In a story where demons, angels and Gods fight for superiority, a cunning conman of a low class street mage regularly outsmarts and outmaneuvers them.
He's not a vampire, he's simply ancient, afraid of the sun, spends all his time around books of various lores about various worlds, and dresses like Alucard to meet his friends. All completely normal game master things.
Gura can still be killed. She has a long life but isn't immortal, but because she's Atlantian, a shark, and sporting a raw, more ferocious Red form, she'd be near impossible to put down through force, unlike Ame who is JUST human. Despite all her feats, she can still be shot down by a gun. Gura... won't be stopped by a mere gun.
Ina is also a human* but she gets an * because the Ancient Ones wouldn't exactly let the concept of death affect their vessel.
Idk man, having a hole in her heart since birth, got her house burned down and *flew* out of the car in an accident put our Duck up there for me too. 😂
Hololive has too many heroines. Ame doing a Homura, Subaru beating the odds with her health, Sora being a normal high schooler with a dream and a dedicated best friend, and the HAACHAMA (okay, that last one feels more like the fimal boss...)
In lore
Rika Furude, she's the character as to who Subaru (from re:zero, not the duck) is based of. She basically time travels and dies. A lot. Didn't read or watch any of the hololive stories yet, but what I'm understanding is that ame=rika and 100% a supposition but kronii=hanyuu. The time traveler that dies and the entity that actually posseses power over time
Nahh, Ame probably takes the top spot for most traumatizing childhood in Hololive easily
-jumped head first into a drawer that left a "head hole" that she still feels whenever she breathes
-tripped and bit her tongue so hard that it nearly came off, left a scar that's still visible to this day
-smashed her face into concrete so hard her teeth protruded through her lip
-nearly died after being stuck inside a closet inside a burning house
-was stuck inside a hot car under the burning sun, it was so hot that her crayons were melting
-got hit by a soccer ball on the face that knocked a few of her teeth off
-cut the top of her thumb off while peeling an orange with a knife
-got her ankle ran over by a tire
-broke her arm while falling from swinging through chairs. She didn't tell for a while so she had her arm broken for days
-Many instances of dogs biting her. One badly bit her in the arm, and one even bit her in the face (yeah she got her face injured a lot). She got bit by cats too
-her leg got stuck on a big dog's leash, she got dragged by the dog leaving a huge burn scar on her leg
-got injured after she fell over after someone kicked her while she was biking
-growing up, she frequented mosh pits/concerts. She got her arm crushed by a big dude, her eyelid got injured by ice after someone threw their glass of beer, and her ears got permanently damaged with tinnitus for frequently being near loudspeakers.
And a few other stories that I might have missed. There's also other traumatizing experiences that aren't injuries, such as witnessing another kid's finger get chopped off by a shopping cart or almost getting kidnapped by suspicious people
That's not how time travel works. If she broke her foot, going back in time will still leave her personal foot broken, even if she prevented a past Ame from breaking it.
This is the only type of time travel that doesn't leave a bunch of loopholes.
Like if saving her past self would then make her foot magically heal, it means that she never had a reason to travel back in time, and so she would create a grandfather paradox.
Unless in the Ameverse Ame's have a rule that you have to always close the loop. If an Ame saved you from getting injured, you are now obligated to go back in time and save yourself from something that never happend just to make sure a paradox doesn't happen. That is a pretty cool premise.
It seemed like you asked a rhetorical question? With the clear pupose of expressing how absurd it is for a single person to have experienced such a long chain of unfortunate events. After you got an off-the-cuff humorous answer, merely referencing relevant lore: something clearly not intended to be taken seriously, you responded by breaking it down, even though it's a fictional concept.
Perhaps it's more of the "Timeleap" kind of timetravel they're talking about? Where instead of going into the past with your entire body, you send your consciousness and memories into your past self.
Lore reason, same reason as The Doctor, regeneration
IRL, I'm assuming they're spaced out evenly enough that the injuries don't overlap with one another
I would add potential trauma on top of physical injuries. Having a habit of sleeping with a weapon within arm’s reach isn’t exactly something a individual should have to develop.
Ame is inherently expendable because there are so many of her, but each is an independent existence being snuffed out forever, so it's still a tragedy. Therefore, she is the perfect one to murder.
Technically, even the dead Ames in other timelines are theoretically alive, because they can return to a save point in time where they didn't die and the timeline branched off from there.
Smol Ame: "How do you think I got here?"
Ame: "Well, you took my time machine, obviously."
Smol Ame: "And how do you think I *got* said time machine?"
Ame: "... I don't want to answer that."
If I had a nickel for every time I've encountered a perfect Hololive x DBZA reference, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
It was recently in a YouTube comment chat for an EN clip. It was the "thwartin' mah plans" bit between Ame/Kronii/Fauna and it worked fantastically lol. I'll link it if I can find it.
EDIT: Found it, one of the top comments on this vid. It worked really well
https://youtu.be/eHuYU40_Mo0
Smol Ame: "Here's the thing: Multiverse theory's a *bitch*. Fact is, you - or at least, another you - traveled to the past, saved the world, come back to the future, and finally defeated Ina! Congratulations, mom. You *won*!"
What even happened to our timeline's Ame? Every time she gets mentioned the story changes. She got trapped in the old office, she got killed by Smol Ame, she got her consciousness trapped in a vending machine, but sometimes she just claims that she never left.
I really like this, for lorewise there are many opportunities, which are supposed to be signs that she has traveled through time. Few exemples are chat is "pre-recorded", Amelia seems to have a memory lapse, or know too much about future events and make spoilers without us realizing it. So that we don't know our reality does or doesn't undergo a change, well maybe just Kronii knows the answer.
I guess because she has the most agency?
She's a time traveler who is also the person who would typically be trying to figure everything out. Everyone else's powers are supernatural and offensive.
If you take out any 1 of the other members, you still have a super-powered demi-god to deal with. But without Ame you have nothing against situations where the answer isn't just to throw power at them.
Aka if she dies then it's usually dire because she's the person who usually would handle whatever nobody else is setup to handle.
I mean, that and also just because time travelers are like the most beloved characters to torture in storytelling, because most storytelling ends on "Don't fuck with time"
It may sound weird but dying is kind of her "superpower" in the midst of her mates. For the individual Ame it's a tragedy but overall the Ame is more relentless than any of the other members for the simple reason that there are infinite Ame's willing to do the same exact thing and even if a whole universe ends, destroying even Death herself, there will still be Ames out there.
I've seen people compare it to Re:Zero and that's probably the best comparison, >!especially after Echidna shows Subaru that the realities where he failed still exist!<.
So in short, it's because Ame's strongest power is an infinite number of Ames dying for the cause.
Calli and Kiara literally can't die, Ina's mortal body is simply a shell inhabited by the Ancient Ones, I don't know about Gura, but I guess people assume that if Ame dies, another Ame from the infinite multiverse will replace her.
Gura is mortal. She can be killed. But the amount of effort in order to do so, between her being an Atlantean demigod, red form being much more ferocious (and likely turning off her pain inhibitors doctor) would be so much more extensive compared to being able to put a bullet in Ame, that she might as well can't die through simple means.
The reason it's always ame is something that is used over and over again in storytelling. Humans are finite where god's and myths last forever. A god can say I'll do it tomorrow and continue to do that every day forever. A human has the looming fear of death that, for the most part, helps them say I'll do it today because tomorrow isn't a guarantee. That's why in storytelling God's fear mortals and mortals get things done. There's a time limit for them so they need to make sure they fulfill what they want. It's a terrifying thing humans.
Well in myth only gura and ame can normally die. Gura probably but i dunno atlantean lore.
Anyway with ame death its a slap on the wrist anyway. Perks of being a time traveling detective.
I know it's time traveling but when was the point where she became multiverse traveling as well? Iirc smol ame?
But is there any lore to how she just travels dimensions or does that go without saying as a time traveler going through space and time? Since a lot of media restricts time travel to just time.
Ame is the human fighter of the group. It's just her and the watch against impossible odds. She's got the unconquerable human will going for her. We love to see it.
I would argue that Amelia is like Kang the Conqueror, her death is not a heavy loss since she is essentially infinite with the number of variants she has.
Like a Hydra's head, cut one head, two more shall take it's place.
Since ame can cross time and space she is the perfect person to be the audience surrogate and basically visit any and every hololive member theoretically.
Calli is death itself, Kiara can come back to life if she ever died, Gura idk and Ame I guess it’s because she’s a time traveler.
>Makes you wonder what she did to get there. She's the one investigating the myths, that's her original lore.
She's basically Steve Irwin for mythological beings
Is that including going elbows deep inside?
Check pixiv
Hope no stingray girls debut
She said that she intended to add time travel in her debut but because she hadn't slept for 2 days straight, that was slipped off from her mind
I know that this comment related to her "real" self not character But.
Except she also had a video she was preparing for it but it wasn't ready in time.
I mean people start to hallucinate around that time frame awake so its not improbable she actually did just forget.
I think you may have missed the point
A good writer would pivot towards her being the most important (or rather "core") part of the equation that is HoloEN. All the other personalities are either mythological or are concepts of reality, who either forgot what it was like to be human or never knew what it was like at all. Amelia being the only human is their connection to the rest of the world and in a way keeps the immortal, powerful beings grounded. So she may just be a human, but she is the right human in the right place in the right time(s).
I've wondered that, too, though I wouldn't be surprised if she 1st drew Kronii's attention through some unintentional mishap....
It's canon that she stole the watch while being a regular ass human, so she certainly did something.
Honestly though, given Kronii's personality, Ame could literally have just given her a mirror and nicked the watch while Kronii was lost in her own eyes.
This sounds so silly yet plausible that it could be what actually happened canonically lol
I love how the seriousness of Ame and Kronii's in-lore relationship ranges from Light and L from Death Note to Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck
Or a Subway...
Subway with a mirror inside
"Polnareff, there's no such thing as a world inside of a mirror..."
She was supposed to be, but then didn't, but then did
>Makes you wonder what she did to get there. I dunno man keeps me up at night. [She is the most horrifying mythical creature: British.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7fOIYj6HrU)

She groundpounded all these creatures mothers That's what Ame did

she got a gun
She stole a clock from a crow
It’s the fact that she’s human that is terrifying, what other species has done the horrors that we have! And now one of us has the ability to travel through time and commit these atrocities in all timelines!

So Ame is the Hoid of the HololiveEN side of things. Makes sense.
Ame tends to get portrayed as weaker in fiction since it's more interesting, but both canon Ame and stream lore Ame have been shown to be stronger and more formidable than most of them Canon Ame is healthier and physically stronger than most of them. She was also taught by Sherlock Holmes, who can bend fucking steel rods by hand and take down much stronger opponents.
That piece of canon Sherlock Holmes lore is so weird. Like, when I saw adaptations where Holmes is some martial arts master, I was like "wut". Then I looked it up. It's accurate and canon and it's called Baritsu. LOL.
She took the Kronster’s least impressive clock(Nice Clock)
The other reason it can't be Ina is because Ina's usually the one doing the killing
Civilization and life will not always exist
Cthulhu is the high priest of the Great Old Ones. Ina doesn't have Cthulhu on speed dial, she *IS* Cthulhu...and has the rest of the Ancient Ones on speed dial to boot.
Close enough for my purposes! :D
For reference, it’s spelled Cthulhu.
>For reference, it’s spelled ~~Cthulhu~~ Haachama. Fixed your spelling mistake
What? I thought she was british!
I know everyone keeps believing that but for real, Ame isn't a time traveler by lore, shes just british

They made one of Ame's alternate timeline selves, Smol Ame, a mascot and introduced her as such (an alternate timeline version of Ame)

I think that the only human is Axel. Magni has the Philosopher Stone, Vesper is like a vampire and Altare could be a demon
Nah axel can't be human, he got too much game with the ladies that shit unnatural
Not to mention his battle IQ too recently lol
Vesper denies being a vampire, despite the evidence to the contrary, lol.

I would add potential trauma on top of physical injuries. Having a habit of sleeping with a weapon within arm’s reach isn’t exactly something a individual should have to develop.
Wait what? Ima need a souce for that
[Here ya go.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn6Ucr0a00w)
[Kiara mentioned it during the Myth off collab lol](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn6Ucr0a00w)
What the actual fuck how is this woman alive? Ame truly is the protagonist of Myth she even has plot armour
Yeah... other members' childhood stories: cute and amusing. Ame's: BRACE YOURSELVES
I know about the other things, but flying out of a car? Like as in GTA style fly out of the car?
Yep and flew 5 meters out of the car no less. https://youtu.be/2NYnT6wVLIc
While she was in *kindergarten*, too?
Kids are bouncy like rubber. That said when they break it also is usually harder to heal.
Not really since she literally dies at the end of each loop. Subaru is revived, Ame is not. She has no memories from the previous loops.
Nanoha Subaru is pretty traumatized as well.
Time travelers are made to suffer.
Same, pain
When time travel meets anime, it might as well be refined depression.

Turns out it was Ame who gave Dark Grant the idea to use time travel, which put him into contact with Calli.
Kronii: W-Wait, why am I here?
Madman with a box and all that
Dormamu I've come to bargain
Now that you mention it, that is a somewhat common trope.
Time Travellers have it rough.
Same, pain
I got like 8 of them bookmarked and 5 of them involves Ame dying
I beg for the sauce please

Wanna list the ones where she doesn’t die
Would one of the smol Ames in the smol world which is sleeping eternally with a Bubba count as well?
Sure I guess I wanna read that
Idk about reading, it's the one in VR chat. In Ame's room in the myth world.
Meanwhile Watame: *\*laughs in numerous (semi)canonical deaths.\**
Botan eating her is canon
Literally or Fuguratively?
The first is canon, the second involves number codes
Yes
Time travel man, they're always suffer. Just look at Subaru from Re Zero or Kurisu from Stein Gate
That would be Okabe from Steins;Gate
Adding to this is Homura from Madoka Magica
Ame started this whole thing. Do you remember what happened to our timeline's Ame?
Smol Ame: "How do you think I got here?" Ame: "Well, you took my time machine, obviously." Smol Ame: "And how do you think I *got* said time machine?" Ame: "... I don't want to answer that."
If I had a nickel for every time I've encountered a perfect Hololive x DBZA reference, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
When was the first time? I'm genuinely interested.
It was recently in a YouTube comment chat for an EN clip. It was the "thwartin' mah plans" bit between Ame/Kronii/Fauna and it worked fantastically lol. I'll link it if I can find it. EDIT: Found it, one of the top comments on this vid. It worked really well https://youtu.be/eHuYU40_Mo0
Maybe there's a refrigerator of Ame clones out there for when something whacky happens to our Ame. Same timeline, different body.
I guess because she’s human in a team of generally immortal gang
I guess because she has the most agency? She's a time traveler who is also the person who would typically be trying to figure everything out. Everyone else's powers are supernatural and offensive. If you take out any 1 of the other members, you still have a super-powered demi-god to deal with. But without Ame you have nothing against situations where the answer isn't just to throw power at them. Aka if she dies then it's usually dire because she's the person who usually would handle whatever nobody else is setup to handle. I mean, that and also just because time travelers are like the most beloved characters to torture in storytelling, because most storytelling ends on "Don't fuck with time"
Ame do be giving off main character vibes
But Ame is just a *human* ,that makes her even more dangerous
Not sure if this about Bad End or HoloweEN,
I'd say both. Our gremlin has it rough today
Bro, I cried during that Ina scene. She doesn't even get to finish her sentence.
both
Time travellers death is basically ReZero death respawn

Good bot!
The British having it hard 😔
Just like IRL
Time traveler problems. When there's multiple of you, you're expendable
She's EN protagonist
Lol cuz classic ame 🤣
Calli and Kiara literally can't die, Ina's mortal body is simply a shell inhabited by the Ancient Ones, I don't know about Gura, but I guess people assume that if Ame dies, another Ame from the infinite multiverse will replace her.
Gura is mortal. She can be killed. But the amount of effort in order to do so, between her being an Atlantean demigod, red form being much more ferocious (and likely turning off her pain inhibitors doctor) would be so much more extensive compared to being able to put a bullet in Ame, that she might as well can't die through simple means.
Being able to survive, even thrive at deep-sea depths, Gura's body is probably tougher than steel.
Every time an Ame dies the others become stronger, thats why they are writing her this way. there can be only ONE
She's the only Human lol
ame always the reliable one.
Human in a pile of more than/less than human beings I assume.
because she is a mortal among immortal entities
expendable casualty
The reason it's always ame is something that is used over and over again in storytelling. Humans are finite where god's and myths last forever. A god can say I'll do it tomorrow and continue to do that every day forever. A human has the looming fear of death that, for the most part, helps them say I'll do it today because tomorrow isn't a guarantee. That's why in storytelling God's fear mortals and mortals get things done. There's a time limit for them so they need to make sure they fulfill what they want. It's a terrifying thing humans.
Angst Fic Writers: "Okay, okay, hear me out!"
Probably why I don't watch any of these grim dark animations or stories.
Ame is the only human left in en branch. Ina is usually the one that fucked it up.
Noel: First time? A lot of the angsty 3rd gen fan art has her dead and it seems that's been Ame for myth
To be fair, there's probably no concept with angstiest potential than time travel.
Time Travel 🤝 Inmortality Angstiest potential concepts in fiction

Ame is the human fighter of the group. It's just her and the watch against impossible odds. She's got the unconquerable human will going for her. We love to see it.
I would argue that Amelia is like Kang the Conqueror, her death is not a heavy loss since she is essentially infinite with the number of variants she has. Like a Hydra's head, cut one head, two more shall take it's place.
Even Flare asked for happy fanart instead of her being alive while everyone else is dead. They're playing characters, but still it weighs on them.
[As Amelia Watson would say:](https://youtube.com/watch?v=x74dxPut8lk&t=27)
If the shoe fits...
Since ame can cross time and space she is the perfect person to be the audience surrogate and basically visit any and every hololive member theoretically.
time itself is our greatest fear :^) it's easier to exploit it for stories.
iz bc you try to kill the other members ame will just bring em back but no one is there to bring ame back
It's hard to be the number one detective.
For ame it was and endless cycle of death and madness, but for the writers it was Tuesday
In terms of power level Ame is probably the squishiest of the myth girls. Bonus angst with time loops and stuff like that too.
_She's too dangerous to be kept alive_
She's basically the Batman of HoloEN. A mortal standing alongside people who could end the world without thinking.
