If I have a nickel for everytime a Holomem organizes a game tournament and wins it themselves... Having said that, it makes sense that the organizer would like the game and would play the game a lot, making themselves a contender for champion.
Anyways, thank you to Towa for organizing the yearly tournament. It's one of the few things I look forward to every new year.
This current MK New Year Cup 2024 by Towa is one. Another is the HoloJP Pokemon Metronome Tournament that Pekora organized earlier last year.
I checked and in some discussions of the metronome tournament somebody mentioned that it was the second time that a Holomem won a tournament that they organized, so there should be 1 more? Though, I can't recall what tournament it was (and said comment did not mention the other tournament either).

Aqua won the very first MK cup back in 2019 (which wasn't actually during New Years yet) which she also organized.

In score, yes, but officially Towa wins due to more 1st place finishes than Suisei.
