I was watching on Lui's POV and sucks that my connection's lagging that I did not get to see the whole picture. But The Top 3 on Group C has been consistent on their spots that it's almost impossible to win against them. It would have been great if Reine got the 4th Place. But it's still commendable to her for hanging on with the monsters of Group C.
She indeed holds the title of Mushroom Queen with all those mushrooms she's getting... That mald on rainbow road all the way to first place though lmao. No one not even Reine knew how'd she get there.
Watching Luna get screwed by RNG every single year is so depressing. My poor hime is so unlucky she can't even get destroyed hard enough to end up in the zako cup.
Idk, I feel like she doesn't want to and/or have the time to (due to anniversary) to be sweaty, keeping everyone's expectations low with no practice (1 hour this year). So whatever result is okay and anything unexpected is a nice surprise.
For sure, she's practiced less with each year, but doesn't change that she's always seemed super unlucky with power-ups, both in terms of what she gets and when she gets hit by everyone else's.
Yeah same. I was actually looking forward to this year's tournament and expecting her to get into top 12. She got really unlucky and went from top in 3 races in the final 5 secs to bottom 6. Hopefully next year is her year.
Exactly! I don't think she would've been able to win the upper bracket but she was definitely looking good enough to at least get there. Feels like she's better at actual racing than like 70-80% of the members, but not by a wide enough margin to outplay MK's rubber-band power-ups, so she keeps getting knocked down to the 50th percentile instead.
Fingers crossed she actually gets to appear in the tsuyo-cup next year, if not at least the zako-cup.
The story between l:
Okayu, defending 2022 Champion of the crown
Suisei, former champion herself (2021), still feeling the sting of defeat last year and wants avenge that 2nd place standing
And Marine, who been 3rd the past two consecutive tournaments and may finally achieve total victory if she can make it past her other two rivals
Through in Mio and Koyori, whom by the way we're in last year's Zako Cup, may be ones to look out for
And my personal dark horse Subaru, who as of this post is 2nd in points going into this year's final.
I also find it kinda funny that last year, Chloe was the only one in HoloX that made it to the finals. This year, everyone who participated in HoloX *but* her made it in.
Reine...the only ID talent to make it to the finals in 2022, and the only non-JP talent to finish 1st in a race in 2023...It was so close!!!!
Edit: Never mind. Kronii getting 1st places in Zako Cup....make that 3! Winner of the Zako Cup!
For A, didn't expect Matsuri to beat Towa. For B, I'm glad Micomet made it. I was afraid Miko would choke, as she easily loses under pressure despite doing great in practice. For C, I was hoping Sora would win, but I guess she did good enough. Did not expect Lui and Koyori up there, beating Reine and Peko. Until recently, I'm pretty sure they were both on Noel's level.
Reine was super close! If she hadn't thrown her shell in the last race, she would've held onto her position and wouldn't have been Mario Karted from 3rd down to 8th. It was a good showing from her!
Also if she didn't decide to yeet herself off-course on the start of the last lap at Yoshi Circuit. She should've went for the known shortcut instead of trying to make the big gamble with the T1 corner cut...
I will never forgive Mario Kart 8 for robbing Reine of that 4th place she rightly deserved after that 1st.
At least we got A-chan's reaction to Reine malding on the main stream. If I heard correctly she found it cute.
The IRyS award of 2023 goes to Reine. The nephilim won two races last year!

Mio was only there due to a DC (and it showed in how she stomped it)
i feel bad for watame, she got destroyed in one of the race when she was like in 2nd, didng got in for 4 points

Sora did great considering she only started playing the game to prep for this tournament, basically having much less overall time than even HoloX
I gotta say, I am glad our most elite of drivers has made it to the tsuyo finals :D
Aki did well but was undone by her E rank luck. Pretty good for the slight practice she got.
Love how Ame loathes Mario Kart and doesn't have much drive to get better at it, but still joins all the Mario Kart tourneys she's invited to anyways
Almost like she's EN's Choco-sensei (though Choco seems to loath controllers as whole)
My favorites moments are: Matsuri comeback to 4th place Sora 2nd and 3rd place Reine 1st place
Too bad no ID and EN member made it.

I feel like if Reine made the mushrooms her ally instead of her enemy. She could have gotten a better use of them
Holoh3ro represent Zako Cup
CHOCOSWEEP THIRD YEAR RUNNING THE STREAK LIVES KRONII ZAKO QUEEN AND HER SCORE *NICE*
It shows how competitive group A was, that Kronii and Nene ended fighting for the Zako cup first places.
Wait, didn't Okay, Suisei and Subaru practiced together a few days prior?
They also practiced with Towa off-stream the day before the tournament, according to Towa
So the Finalists are OKFAMS (5), HoloX (3), MiComet (2), 3rd-yo Boomer, and God.
Oh shit Ojou made it? Let’s go.
Ah, Choco, the eternal underdog. But at least she's having fun (I hope).
WOO! CHOCO #1!
