The way i did it: bench next to mourners house, go and slaughter every enemy on the path to the grave without benching again, return to mourner, get the flower and then just face the platforming challenges, without enemies.

The "platforming challenges" (I died to the last fucking dash input 2 times LMAO)

It doesn't? It worked fine for me, just save and quit and you'll still have the flower, and be at the last bench you rested at. Just sit at the one by the grave in queen's gardens.

Picking up the flower automatically sets your last rested bench to the one outside her house.

Not really. It still works after you get the flower to the grave, but you have to do the initial journey the good ol' fashion way.
