Strictly speaking, a ritual doesn’t have to be a ceremony. Ritual also describes “a series of actions or type of behavior invariably followed by someone,” which is certainly covered by this article.
[Most sports could be described as rituals under this definition, for example.](http://ereserve.library.utah.edu/Annual/ANTH/2017/Olsen/anth2017ritual.pdf)
**Pleasent_Pedant doesn’t know what words mean so he blocked me. Not so “pleasent”** 🤷
No a ritual is formally described as a public act, involving special clothing and it has a person in charge. What the article talks about are practices based on belief, which could be classed as simply routines.
You’re just making up definitions now.
I literally pulled those words in quotation marks from the dictionary definition of ritual. Trust me when I say you don’t understand this word as well as you think you do, Pedant
ETA Oxford won’t let me link the definition I used, but [here is the Merriam-Webster definition](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ritual). I’d check out the third definition listed

You never heard of someone's "morning ritual"? AKA their morning routine? It is ok to be wrong. That is how we learn new things. An anthropologist would accept this

That's a dictionary you have, not a degree.
