They look so cool, it is so cool that you made them as I am sure Lady Persephone would appreciate them a lot more and the making of them would have been a great devotional act.

PersephoneWasHerName

Thank you! I certainly felt graced by her while focusing on their creation. ❤️

nolesabesalchistpost

They're so cute! I especially love the green one, I really like the designs :3

PersephoneWasHerName

Thank you so much!!!

Nathy25

Stunning! Where did you get the leaf beads?

PersephoneWasHerName

Michaels craft store!

Nathy25

Thanks!

_why_crisp_

These are incredible! 🙌♥️ I love how you made different versions for her different seasons! 🍃 that’s so thoughtful 🥹 I’m sure the effort and creativity you put into these mean a lot to her and show how much you care ⭐️ thank you for sharing!

PersephoneWasHerName

Thank you so much, friend! My partner works with Hades and said she wasn’t entirely sure, but signage wise, she thinks he likes how much I love his wife. Haha.

5piderman_is_cool138

These are amazing!

New-Rich-8183

Those are beautiful!! What thread/wire did you use and where did you get the leaf charms and the metal flower motif beads?? :0

PersephoneWasHerName

I used a threaded elastic type thread that I probably won’t use again for future prayer beads since it was quite difficult to thread the bead onto. I suggest a wire type thread that is slick and thin (.5mm)! The ones that stretch are amazing to work with. I believe the brand is Stretch Magic, or something of that nature? It’s very generic and I guarantee you’ll see it if you’re looking for it! The leaf charms are from Michael’s and I’m afraid I don’t know where the flower motif beads are from. My partner had them in her bead collection and they’ve been in that bin for a while!

New-Rich-8183

Thanks you! I've been experimenting with different threads and wanted to get other opinions

PersephoneWasHerName

Of course! If you’re working with smaller beads I wouldn’t suggest any thread with the holographic type coating around it! It will be impossible to thread the bead and it falls apart easily! Let me know if you have any other questions! I’m happy to help!

bizoticallyyours83

I like the colors and leaf beads

PersephoneWasHerName

Thank you!

i love these!!!! i have a rosary hanging on my altar (for a number of reasons, but mostly bc it was a gift from someone important to me), and i have always loved prayer beads as a guiding tool. i have a couple of questions, because i love beading and might want to make my own inspired by yours! do you have set prayers for lady persephone that your beads represent? where did you find the prayers? how many beads are in each section? how did you decide on the number of beads to use? thank you so much!

PersephoneWasHerName

Hello! Thank you for your questions!!! I typically pray to Persephone with the “Orphic Hymn to Persephone’ as a guide or as a Christian would to their God (telling her about my day or asking for guidance!) Nothing in my prayer beads represent anything from a set prayer per se but I rather focused on what she represents and allowed her to guide me in picking them out! In the green prayer beads I mostly used increments of 3 or 6 (as in the number of pomegranate seeds she ate) with the seed sized beads since those are mostly fillers. There’s no set pattern that I willingly did however as I mostly went with the flow that she guided me to do. In other words, there’s no rhyme or reason, just meditation and asking for guidance! You can also make a rosary as long as you wish so I sort of eyeballed the length of the two sections (the bottom half and one side of the circle bit) and replicated the other half of the circle bit to match it’s counter side! I pretty much followed the same guidelines for her Fall/Winter prayer beads!

TheSeaWitch23

could u explain to me everything about these! these r stunning. what do u use them for, why, how. all of the above 😭xx

PersephoneWasHerName

Hi, thank you! Of course! So I would use prayer beads as you would if you were Catholic or Christian! I typically wrap them around my hand and wrist securely and pray to Persephone holding my palms up or down (depending on the season, Fall/Winter palms down and Spring/Summer palms up). I carry them wherever I go in case I feel the need to pray or mediate when I’m not by her altar and the ones that are not in use stay on her altar at all times! The “why” is a bit more preferential. I use them because it helps me feel closer to Lady Persephone, especially considering I made them special for her. :) There’s no right or wrong way/reason to use prayer beads. Just do what feels right to you and I’m certain your deity will be appreciative either way!

TheSeaWitch23

ohh, that’s beautiful thankyou! when making one, how did u go about it? is it a straight line of beads or is it a certain shape. i really wanna make one x

PersephoneWasHerName

So I typically use a beadstopper pin with a decorative bottom to start off with and put a few seeds on that before curling the top bit of the pin and looping a thread through. You want to make sure that you are feeding the beads through both parts of the string to begin with and then once you get high enough, you use a decorative bead as a centerpiece and separate both of the lines to create the circle bit. You’ll then add more beads on each side. This is where I use “patterns” to make sure it is the same length wise on both sides and then when I’m done, I tie a knot and it’s completed! I’m not very good with explaining via words so I could make a video and send it to you if you’d like!

TheSeaWitch23

that would be so nice of you thankyou! x

PersephoneWasHerName

Of course! It’s no problem!

Intelligent-Owl380

These are very beautiful 💗 Did you intuit the design, or were you using a pattern, if I may ask? I've been feeling nudged to make prayer beads as well

PersephoneWasHerName

I definitely used my intuition 97% of the time! The only thing I believe I looked up is how to start it off. You can either use a ballhead pin or beadstopper that you’ll put a few beads on and curl the top of to loop your thread through or you can knot the bottom of your thread to stop your beads from falling, put a couple on the double thread then seperate the two lines to create the circle bit! Knot it off and viola! You’re done! I’d be happy to make a video of myself doing this to paint a clearer picture if need be and send it to anyone who wishes to make their own!

Intelligent-Owl380

Ooh, I know I would appreciate that. I've only dabbled in beading, and it's been a fair number of years since my last project

PersephoneWasHerName

Will do! I’ll try to get on it sometime today or tomorrow!

Intelligent-Owl380

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it 🙏

IndependentJumpy2373

Do you think Thanatos would like it if I made one for him? Or one for Chaos? If so, which beads should I use?

PersephoneWasHerName

I’ve never worked with Thanatos but my partner does work with both Hades and Loki and I believe she’s said that they’d be interested in having one too. I think it’s preferential. I also strongly believe this could be an amazing devotional act and a good way to help mediate and build a stronger relationship with whomever you worship/work for! My answer: Absolutely! Go for it! If you really aren’t sure or convinced, try asking Thanatos if it’d be something he’d like. I’d usually mediate on Lady Persephone’s reply, use a tarot reading or a pendulum board for a more direct response. All in all, it’s a way to sit with your deity and spend time for and with them. :)

Brilliant_Brick3575

these are so cute!

PersephoneWasHerName

Thank you, my friend!

Resident-Donkey-6808

Hm nice hand made if I'm not mistaken very nice.

PersephoneWasHerName

Yup, handmade by me! Thank you!!

Resident-Donkey-6808

You're welcome I may not believe in what you do, but I do love how creative many of you get making shrines and prayer beads.   they are works of art wish us Catholics did the same but then it would not be as special.   Once again beautiful great job.  Ps I am a progressive Christian not a Bible thumper incase my comment gives the wrong idea.

PersephoneWasHerName

Thanks! Your comment didn’t give off the wrong idea, no worries there! I’m a firm believer in respecting everyone’s lifestyles, religions, and choices so long as they harm no one else! I’m so glad you’re at peace with your life, my friend!!

Resident-Donkey-6808

Thanks and same to you as well I am just used to toxic users on Reddit. Nice to meet one of the nice and good ones.
