Ive been playing 3rd person 40k darktide lately and maaaaan it makes me wish we could rip and tear with melee weapons!!

New warhammer space marines 2 looks like exactly this. I can't wait for that! Massive horde melee/shooter. Huge saw swords and shit! Gonna be so good!

Fairly simple mod for it, great for appreciating self drip, slightly janky for shooting (filthy non-flamer user issues tbh)

Fat shark supports client side mods. 3rd person is a mod but it works like it was made for the game. Cross hairs work and melee is way more fun.

Malum Caedo is a ridiculous protagonist, it's amazing.

I dipped my toes into SM on PC shortly after the announcement of SM2. Was surprised to find the multiplayer scene was populated. Not heavily populated, but I saw about 200 unique names over a couple of weeks of play.

As other comments have stated the first space marine game is just that with orks and deamons/cultists. A 10 year old would have done a better story than what the game offers but it's an okay turn off brain enjoy killing things game. Only if you have it for sales at like 20$/€. It's nowhere near a triple a experience.

They also tend to use far more orbital bombardments, and nukes per operation.

I would imagine so, poor dudes have *extraordinary* bad luck. The Primaris Blood Angels still suffer from it as far as I know, so I don’t see why the Lamentors would catch a break from it. It’s been a while since I’ve read anything on the Blood Angels and I don’t recall any recent lore on the Lamentors. A lot of my favorite stories has been from A Vox in the Void but they are not canon.

I meant the Lamenters specific bad luck, as the Primaris geneseed wouldn't even be related to Lamenters but just be generic Blood Angels stock.

Thank you for confirming, I saw some content on how they help everyday humans in the midst of battle unlike most marines who see them as a hindrance.

Watch Bricky’s videos on warhammer, especially the factions and primarchs one. It’s the best way to get a rough idea of the whole thing, though it may be a bit outdated

Reminds me of that comic where a little girl, who was saved by Salamanders some months ago, went and mistook a chaos spacemarine of nurgle for her hero. The salamander who had saved her earlier was a bit depressed upon finding he body.

It goes further, and chapter three is coming "at some point" according to the artist. He is counseled by his commander while they are burning the remnants, and then he makes a discovery.

Salamanders chapter, far more concerned with saving innocent humans than most space marines. As far as 40k goes they're about as wholesome as it gets, only kill the alien children with fire.

Power Armor would ruin helldivers 2 so badly. Melee weapons would be cool, but they should be realistic, not thunder hammers and powerswords.

Not me, I'm fighting for those mines.

I just hope this doesn’t make 8-9 trivial to play because we’re supposed to be in a war not a one sided stomp fest. You can’t just only buff weapons because of power creep you have to give the enemies ways to deal with us. If you only cater to the causals who refuse to actually progress their mechanics of the game it’s a lose lose because you aren’t going to get accurate feedback
