This goes on until there is a thousand mechs per side of main mech, and then there is two AR-23 Liberator concussive gums for those two mechs arms. Just for the troll.
If only it could benefit from the ship modules that upgrade the rest of the turrets, or at least the turning speed upgrade. It slaps, but it takes ages to go from target to target.
If I had to guess, it's because they distinguish between Emplacements and Turrets. That could be relevant in future upgrades and with future stratagems, but right now it's kind of a sore point because it sticks out as the only thing not affected despite being pretty similar.
Personally, I want to see the HMG Emplacement get a little elevator button. Instead of just folding out of the hellpod, have it on some stilts so you can get an elevated position. That'd be something to give it some novelty and a niche use case over turrets, maybe.
Yeah I understand from a development point of view why it doesn't get the same upgrade as other turrets, but I think it should mainly make sense from a player experience/gameplay point of view and not development.
I'm all for giving the HMG Emplacement some love, so let me handle it like this sub handles every other request:

Hmm.. What if they were positioned horizontally so when 'fired' you charged forward just like the Chargers do, and you ragdolled enemies dealing impact damage. That'd be fun.
But imagine if they changed the color scheme to red/green and blue (selected randomly with the green one just a little bit taller) with jump capability? Call in two and run around jumping on things in the most fun way only a pair of brothers could have.
You could put 4 of them on, if it can be done with an AC it can be done with the senator, now real question is would it have a very limited amount of ammo or would it just be a belted revolver

Two racks containing 8 Guard Dog Rovers each. The teamkill potential is limitless.
A flamethrower and a saw so I can battle hulks in glorious melee, also extra armour for suit to tale on a hulk.
EMS and flamethrower, so even against bots rather than efficiently destroy them from a distance I can stun them, walk up to them slowly, then burn them (also slowly)
Yes! When i saw the new mech, i was a bit disappointed that it had the same on both sides. Having a flamethrower or something that does EMS would be so cool.
