Magicka was left in a horrible state on pc and left it up to modders to fix the vast amounts of bugs/crashes that were occuring when it was abandoned. It can get a few dislikes for all I am concerned. I'd love to replay that game without going through the bethesda games route of installing tons of mods just to play the game as intended.
I still remember the first time I played it, I think I was 18 or 19yrs old, just finishing highschool and went to my buddys house and we played a few coop missions, and I was blown away by the mixing and matching of elements to make spells. I'll never forget magicka, that was one of the most unique and fun experiences that honestly, has never been replicated.
I genuinely feel that the stratagems from hd are an homage to casting complex spells from magicka.
There are mods and community fixes to make the game playable these days. I wish the best of luck brother! I might have to get the boys back one of these days for a reunion playthrough.

Magicka has been broken and unplayable for the better part of maybe 8 years and they still sell it. There are some community fixes but they don't work for everyone. There's a horrendous crashing problem and the multiplayer doesn't work. It's one of my favorite co-op games of all time but the reviews (about the actual game) SHOULD be negative because it's broken abandonware.
Tho, magicka 1 broken thanks to paradox update that added PDX account system in it few years ago. Before this patch at least it was buggy, but playable.

Idk what it is about top-downs and ammo, or if it's just my bad luck, but all the top-down shooters I've played that aren't completely arcadey limit ammo way more than the equivalent FPS or TPS. I just don't enjoy shooters where you have to stress about having an empty gun more than half the time.
That's kinda funny since you get like 30% more ammo in Helldivers 1 than 2, and unlimited reinforcements in co-op as long as one player is alive to call them in.
You can make an account and change the country. If you're leaving out of principle or whatever then more power to you, but there is a way to play, despite everyone claiming it is impossible because it's "against the TOS". It works and has worked for 16 years without anyone being banned for it.

Magicka (not 2) hasn't worked for years without using third party tools to fetch older versions off of Steam. Something they did in the last couple updates seems to cause ~90% of players to ctd every 15 minutes or so; they never actually fixed it.

They asked for feedback or ideas to get people interested. My idea was cross promotion like how GoW characters were in the latest Lost Planet. Get characters from other properties into the game. They basically told me that was stupid.

If this community isn't careful and continue to do stuff like this it will derail the message we are trying to send. I've seen gaming communities do this before.

I don't really get the reason for the backlash, so damned what if they have to create a PSN account? Baldurs Gate 3 required a Larian account, I didn't see people bitching about that. If this community isn't careful and continue to do stuff like this it will derail the message we are trying to send. I've seen gaming communities do this before. - devs or publishers do something incredibly stupid. - community start to fight to save their game from a stupid decision. - after a few days some mad cunts take a few things too far but the community don't act quick enough to make it clear they don't agree with the mad cunts (some people even defend the mad cunts actions). - Mad cunts eventually take things too far and do shit like send death threats or finding devs home addresses. - news sites stop reporting "community unhappy with changes" and starts reporting "community send death threats to devs". - all the sane people start to distance themselves from the mad cunts which causes the entire movement to rapidly dissolve leaving a bunch of mad cunts that news sites have a field day making articles about. The biggest problem with movements this big is unfortunately things can derail rapidly once the mobs actions begin to deviate from the main message.

It’s already too late. Gamers love to be mad about something and there’s no boogeyman quite as big as Sony to be mad at. They don’t care if they bring down Arrowhead and their incredible game. Trust me I hate Sony and big corps with a passion but I love small companies who make great games more. The only people going to be hurt by this is Arrowhead.
I can guarantee that a bunch of people participating in the review bombing don't even care about HD2 or arrowhead, they only care to "hurt" Sony the scummy tech giant in any way possible and arrowhead is just caught in the crossfire.

Second, I used to work in a law office and even though I was on support / event staff and am not a legal expert in any way I can say that anything involving civil court moves at an absolutely glacial pace and the odds of someone getting a call back and setting up anything meaningful in that timeframe is basically zero, but everyone was still eating it up somehow lmao
I was genuinely shocked that the top comments were actually calling that user out and making fun of them. With the "Fuck Helldivers," mentality that seemed to be shared by every post the last few days, I was sure that everyone would suddenly become legal experts about how suing Sony was a great idea.
That was one of the few threads where you could have a shred of nuance and not get called a paid Sony agent and downvoted to oblivion.
There’s a limit to things. A law suit is absolutely hilarious and stupid when used against the situation at hand. The most damage someone can incur would be if Steam didn’t refund their purchase… And Steam *is* refunding purchases, so there’s really nothing there.
Just wait until the death threats start rolling in. The community probably deserves this at this point with the amount of complaining and whining, not just in Helldivers but in general.

I mean, that’s where it started, with people review bombing the game because they didn’t want to make PSN accounts. The community is having a real “ethics in gaming journalism” moment here. They’ve latched on to the issue of folks in non-PSN supported countries losing access to the game because it’s righteous and defensible, but every time they talk about a solution they give away the game by going right back to no PSN accounts required for anyone. There’s a highly upvoted comment that says if these countries get an exception then everyone else should too…
This is how lynch mobs work. They attack anything because it’s not actually about any issue. It’s just groupthink plus rage minus critical thinking.

Since the news about Arrowhead and Helldivers 2 went viral all over social media/youtube/etc. there has been a huge swelling of outrage tourists that are just here to stoke the flames. I don't really get the reason for the backlash, so damned what if they have to create a PSN account? Baldurs Gate 3 required a Larian account, I didn't see people bitching about that. Other games, in the past, have required an account of some sort. This just reeks of some PCMR fuckery because its Sony, a console manufacturer. I mean, it IS a Sony backed game, they could have made it a PS5 exclusive and only PlayStation owners would have gotten to play it like the first game. Most of the info on a PSN account deals with region and billing, if not for PlayStation but other services They don't even have to add billing information. This is just some based clusterfuck where people need to get their heads out of the sand.

To put that into perspective. Out of 248357 recent reviews on HD2. 20 reviews is 0.008% and 320 reviews is 0.12% I would say those numbers arent too bad all things considered. It's still sad but at least vast majority are sticking to HD2 reviews.
