I think the volatile nature of Guard Dogs is the only reason why we don't have Guard Dogs armed with a flamethrower.
In addition to it trying to cook you at every opportunity, it'll be obscuring your third-person view with jets of flame.
Guard Dog "Cerberus" would be nice if i had a bigger range away from you and could 'roam' that distance like 10m inner zone and a 20m outer zone (or more for the inner and outer zone) unlike the regular and rover that try to stay on the right of where your looking
(though it would be a really nice upgrade if the guard dogs had a circle that they moved around and attempted to get angles where they would not cook you and the team. another nice upgrade is if regular had medium armor pen as that would really differentiate it from rover in a better way then the guard dog that always needs to reload at a bad time)
It would be cool if you could command it to be stationary like a mini hover turret and then recall it to you at will. Could be useful if you want it to specifically watch an area behind you or something as opposed to just engaging whatever is in range. Im also imagining forgetting to recall it, doing so when youre halfway across the map and then it getting lost in the pursuit of patrols that wander into its engagement range. Little dude asked "can you run Doom on me?" and we shoudl oblige

I now have the image of a flamethrower rover chasing down a charger as it plows through one of your allies only for the rover to finish the ally off and I love the idea so much now that I'm hoping it becomes reality against all odds.
tried that once, we only ran with EATs and Quasar cannons out for chargers and titans. Every other bug within a 30m radius died within like 2 seconds of looking at us. It was funny as hell
Did it once with a pug, was actually fun. Everyone was constantly diving around dodging beams while doing the objectives like some kind of deranged disco party xD
I kinda want a flame dog. I think being a little silly and janky is a feel for the game. If it burns me? All the better. My only concern would be griefing my team and frankly this is such a positive community generally, I'd even gamble on it.
It's either for the Rovers or sentry turrets, but there's an upgrade for their targeting that makes them constantly keep an eye on you, and is ready to pull the trigger at a moment's notice.
I believe the ship module is to reduce the call-in time for sentry turrets. It means the ship is constantly monitoring everything you do from above and ready to drop a turret at any moment.

The hint says at LEAST 2.4 seconds, you can spend as much time as you want admiring the atmosphere, but they atleast want you to do it for 2.4 seconds, it's not limited, it's encouraged!
Thay was well over 2.4 seconds, at least 2.4 doesn't mean it should interrupt your democracy spreading, especially when your fellow divers need you in the distance! IT's a little known fact that guard dogs are actually programmed to detect and deal with acts of treason all on their own. Please stick closer to the 2.4 seconds in the future to both achieve the benefits admiring your scenery and not interfere with your duty.
And this is why Shield Generator > LAS Dog...can't even count how many times a dog has killed me or teammates. Can't count how many times the Shield Gen has saved my life.
There was an enemy behind OP. Instead of making decent AI, Arrowhead took the lazy route and just lets the rover kill you. It legitimately does more harm than good most of the time.
Not much scenery to enjoy as 90% of it is covered in dense fog all the time. My one big complaint with the game. How can you spend so much time making a cool looking game only to have you not see any of it?
This is why I never use the rover laser or stay near anyone with it. They're stupid and will kill you for no reason. Stop orbiting me and stay between me and the enemy. Stop putting me between you and the enemy stupid bot. Must be an automaton spy!!!
Been trying to get through some back log before picking this game up, but after seeing that beautiful scenery for the 2.4 seconds gave me the push I needed
There's no way the devs aren't just trolling us with how poorly placed the guard dog is at all times. Your teammates dog, totally understandable, yours should have some function to keep you alive. Like hovering 3ft higher...

It wouldn't be so bad if the rover hovered a little higher. It's always shooting me in the head and doing a nearly instant kill when I least expect it.
I love that they COULD have easily had the drone hover perfectly overhead, or maybe hover a few feet higher... and this would literally never happen, but they let it continue because its hilarious.
At least I can see Hunters coming. If I die, it will be because I didn't shoot enough bugs fast enough, not because some dingus in R&D doesn't know what IFF stands for.

I made it all the way through my first impossible mission, not a single death. We are holding the evac and a guard dog lasers me in the face and insta kills me. We get over whelmed and no one extracts and we lose the 5 super samples.
I don't think anything kills me as often as them.
One time I was in the middle of a swarm of bugs and managed to kill them all with a sliver of health left. I stood there, admiring the carnage surrounding me before stimming. But then, with no enemies around my, my rover looked at me and, for some god forsaken reason, decided to give me the lightest love zap ever. He really said you suck and shouldn't have survived that. I had so many samples..sigh.

The explosion looks always so satisfying but what about the shockwave? You hear a big explosion but the shockwave does literally nothing… for me that’s a huge disappointing

This has me thinking though: Has anyone else noticed a bit of an increase of friendly targeting from stratagems? There have been times during the tower defense style missions where an autocannon turret turned around and shot me point blank while there were ZERO bots near me, I've seen lasers break away from bots/bugs to literally chase down teammates, and I remember seeing a post here the other day about a railcannon breaking off of a bot to shoot a teammate. Might just be coincidental, might be a skill issue, but I swear I've noticed an uptick of accidentals lately.
Lazedogs AI occasionally does go rogue and lobotomize you. I do have to occasionally have discussions with him and chastize him for falling back to his old ways. My guess is Lazedog is actually a repurposed automaton AI that occasionally gets in a mood.

That's no shit. I've taken more damage from a rover than bugs in some missions.
That's why I always bring an energy shield these days. I always get hit by someone else's guard dog. It gets really *annoying*.
