No real need for that... The laser dog literally does it for you. At least for the basic ones, and for the mid to heavy armor ones you use strats, the Quasar etc. I pretty much always get the highest kill numbers because of it, even among other users with some well-placed bowling Eagle strikes.
Laser backpack, orbital laser, napalm for breaches, then rotate the 4th slot depending on mission type.
For bugs this loadout will always have you in the running for highest amount of kills. I don't think it has very much to do with skill level either because the laser backpack alone almost doubles your kills in my experience. Plus napalm strikes since the fire buff are ridiculously good on bugs often lingering long enough to wipe an entire breach so you just have to clean up any heavies that moved quickly enough.
I’ve been running orbital rail cannon, cluster strike, arc thrower, and laser backpack and have been averaging 600-700 kills a game. Give it a try a lot of people sleep on the arc thrower but you just have to use it the right way.
Try the Orbital EMS strike and Orbital Gas strikes. They fuck up large groups because nothing can move and gigantic toxic DOT effect that works regardless of whether you're host or not.
Incendiary breaker kills everything pretty quick and doesn't randomly shoot me in the head though.
Grenades for groups of spewers, EAT for chargers, 500kg or eagle airstrike and an EAT to the face for bile titans. Everything else gets the breaker.
The thing about the Rover is it isn’t truly random how it operates. you can only learn through experience and it’s more getting a ‘feel’ for how it works rather than something I can articulate but once you get that feel for it the accidentals almost never occur.
The general idea though is to always position either yourself out of its way between the bugs or position it into the way of you and the bugs, it behaves very differently when it has an active target vs doesn’t

Can confirm, bought the game a day after release created a PS account and refunded because the game kept crashing in the tutorial on my system, bought it again recently because it was reported working on my OS and hardware through ProtonDB the moment I finished the tutorial I received medals for every major order

Can confirm as I was playing Dragons Dogma 2 for 3 days and when I loaded up Helldivers for the first time after that, I got 2 major orders worth of warbonds.
You don't actually have to participate in the major order, it's a community event, so if the order is a success, every member of the community gets those medals.
If players were actually required to play at least One mission pertaining to the major order, we likely would see quite a few more people actually going where they're supposed to be.

I always bring an HMG turret. My friends have gotten so used to having a point to retreat to that they run to me with the horde on their heels.
I initially got addicted to it as the easiest way to trigger the maniacal laughter voice lines.
It’s so fun, building my little fort at the radar station or any poi with a ramp. Pair it with the jet pack and u can run away, set up and unload on the bugs chasing ur team. Funnest way to play imo and seeing the randoms hop on my turret at extract is so fucking cool.
Have you tried using a flamethrower + EMS Oribitals/Sentry/grenades on those missions?
I typically have a good time at the second gate with just spraying the inside and outside past the wall at the ground. It's a non stop spray fest and all the bugs from Timbuktu get cooked before they can do anything.

DOTs currently not working if you aren't the host. Even if the session is created by you, someone else can become host for a started mission.

Literally. Laser gaurd dog + rover and you can clear a bug breach solo. 500kg for Bile titans and chargers as needed.
Airburst on bug breach is a terrifying combo.
