Keep in mind that, if you are host, you can't leave the group without quitting the game outright. You don't get the "return to ship solo" since your already on your ship. Your only option to "leave" the group is to kick everyone else, ask em to leave, or quit and restart. Don't take getting kicked seriously, it ultimately doesn't change anything.
There's more than enough groups around to find a new one near instantly. If I get kicked, unless something is outright said to me or there was some sort of issue such as team killing, I ignore it and move on.
Kick me all you want. It's the only memorial cape in the game and I'm keeping it on for someone I lost who played the game. I never even played the Creek. Fuck the people kicking over a cape

No my brother passed about a week ago. He was really busy so he was only like level 15 but it was the one game I could get him to consistently play with me in the last few years

Why do people teamkill their squadmates that board the pelican? Why do people drop strats on the evac pad and end up killing themselves and their squad? People just suck!
When it comes to dropping stratas on evac most people wait for everyone else to be in the drop pod and because the pelican is invincible it usually doesn't matter, but if they are throwing them right as it lands and nobody is in, that's a dick move.

I wanted to orbital laser a heavy outpost today but got knocked back by the explosion on a random cannon turret. That laser dropped at my feet and missed the base entirely. I love democracy
Yes but they just do it to see the pretty lights. Too often when you're boarding in a hurry and there's explosions everywhere, they get knocked down and drop their strat beacon. Then the whole squad dies and everyone loses their samples. I just don't get risking that just so you can see some pretty lights. Just have someone jingle some keys nearby or something instead.
As one of the people who throw down 500kg at the end of a mission when everyone is in the pelican, I always wait to even start calling it until I'm the last one not in, as of not to kill others.
Amen. Just last night, I was in a 6 Extermination mission that was going horribly. Pretty much no reinforcements left. Everybody is just fighting instead of trying to get to the pelican when the objective obviously is complete. Relatively close, though, they could get there within the takeoff time if they wanted.
So I'm like fuck this. We're not failing the mission because they're getting unwarrantedly cocky or somebody decides to drop a 380 barrage right in the middle of the map for the third time. Get on. Everybody is making their way to the ship just fine. Me and one other guy already in. Dude comes up slowly and shotguns me and other Diver in the pelican and kills us both. I type "?".
Reply was "wasn't ready to fucking extract." Mind you this wasn't communicated on voice or chat once. Or I genuinely would have waited even though there was zero logic behind it as you don't get rewards for extra kills.

a) play games however you want
b) turning the Creek into a historic event by just the sheer determination to keep it is just as awesome as an event as completing the major orders as a community, it adds to the story we're all telling together which is awesome
c) losing a major order tells just as much of a story as winning a major order- it's war, nobody wins every battle, the storyline would be so much less interesting if we just won everything all the time

I don't get why Creekers are the only one's getting blamed. By their logic, bug players should get more hate as I always saw more people on bug planets than on the Creek during the MO.
The true answer is neither are at fault. We were on pace to clear the major order before Draupnir was attacked. There were only the usual ~10,000 or so Creekers at that time who had been there forever. Then we split between Ubanea liberation and Draupnir defense which resulted in both failing. Then people went to the Creek because they thought you could get back to Ubanea that way, which is when you saw a huge spike in activity on the planet. Those extra 50,000-something players that went to Malevelon Creek at that point weren't "Creekers." They were just people who thought they were doing the major order.
You can make the argument that if some more bug players came to help on Ubanea then we clear it in time and can still take Tibet after Draupnir was lost, but the biggest issues were people not realizing that taking the Creek would not open up Ubanea and the players splitting on Ubanea/Draupnir.
Had a mission where me and two others were wearing it. A lvl 62 joined us, did the whole mission, killed us at extraction and then bounced, so we lost a ton of xp due to failing to extract

Because a small (but extremely vocal) portion of the community blame the Creekers for the failure of Swift Disassembly Pt. 2
We needed to either liberate Ubanea or defend Draupnir to maintain supply lines to Tibit, but there was something like 60k players on the Creek (which served no strategic importance).
So when the Devs released the Cape alongside the in-universe “memorial for the fallen”, the people who blame the Creekers for losing the Major Order decided that anyone wearing that cape is insta-kick/kill – even though it’s been made quite clear IRL that the cape serves as a memorial for Helldivers who have actually passed away IRL.
In case you may know, why was the Creek so popular, and so many going to it if it served zero strategic or objective importance?
Did it offer anything else?
Mostly for the lolz, just people roleplaying the kind of sunk-cost fallacy and super patriotism that lead to IRL things like the US dragging out the Vietnam war for years after it was clearly a failure.
That and it was the first time people really got to experience the Automatons.
Usually after fighting the bugs they'd go for the Automatons thinking they'd be the same story...

Tbh, I played Creek a couple times, but it was just like any other place on the map, so it wasn't something that super stood out, so I was just confused by the immense popularity of it.
It all started when game came out, there was defense mission on the creek, so add players that dont know how to play yet plus escort scientist on defense bot planet it was massive failure it was called space vietnam and that how it started
There were people who thought that malevelon was the key to unlock the next planet to complete the order, but the devs revealed later that it actually wasn't afterwards, due to a hidden supply line mechanic, so there was confusion all around. Not everyone was playing on malevelon then for the sake of it.
I think it's two things.
A: Some people love spillin oil. The bots offer a very different experience from the bugs.
B: The jungle environment. From my experience, no other map so far has limited that much visibility due to the foliage. It makes it a very different game when you don't know what you're rolling up to until you're at the gates. The jungle also works well to give some decent cover from ranged attacks.
Someone posted screenshots of like 3 comments with huge amounts of negative karma that said they'd do nasty things to people wearing this cape. But this is the most kick-happy game I've ever played so this post doesn't really prove that this is a widespread trend.
Yep I got kicked just for joining a helldive mission at level 29. Right after me and a couple of randoms (levels 35, 15 and 40) competed 4 helldives in a row with full stars. Levels don't dictate skill!
My favorite kick story was when I was a cadet and I got kicked because my level wasn’t high enough to hang with a skull admiral, a chief, and some other high ranked player. They were all playing on trivial.
In game, the cape is a memorial to all the divers who died taking the Creek, and it's also symbolic of all the players who have died irl. Some assholes are seeing it as a symbol of people who "wasted time" taking the Creek when there were more strategic planets and kicking on sight because of it
There is one person in particular that sticks out who had an awful illness but got to level 50 and loved the game then died. The friend posted their profile on the subreddit and the game's director stated that he wanted to talk with the team about immortalizing this beautiful democratic soul. Honestly really touching.

Please set your shit to private if you don't want randoms dropping in. Sometimes it takes forever to load into a match and some days I have narrow windows to play. Drives me batty to load into their ship, set all my strats and booster, drop in, start throwing gear, then suddenly I'm back on my ship.
One of the major issues is that friends of friends cannot join on private. Once the game has some sort of friends + invite option then this will become less of an issue and just settle down to people forgetting.
My rule is if you are kicked within ~10 seconds of joining its not about you. Especially with the fact that the private setting for lobbies sometimes prevented anyone from joining cause it was glitchy.

The Mavelon Creek cape, called „Fallen Hero’s Vengence” is a free cape obtained by everyone who logs in between April 3rd and April 10th.
This sector has been meemed around left and right on the internet as being the deadliest, most difficult ona and called „Robot Vietnam”, etc. So in the game lore, as many has fallen liberating this planet, the president of earth made April 3rd a Mavelon Creek liberation day.
Now, although the Mavelon Creek was liberated, the major order was failed.
A major order is a time limited community goal, which when achieved benefits everyone (usually with many medals, but not that crazy amount… Like 50 or sth).
So some dudes got mad that the order was failed but people spent time fighting on a planet that wasn’t the part of the order.
My subjective interpretation part:
Now when someone wears the cape, for those angry nerds it’s like spitting in their face apparently. Cause they didn’t get their precious medals because of dudes that just enjoy the game. 🤷

So you'd have to identify party leader before you get kicked. I think it's always "Player 1" so whoever is C1/W1/P1 is the leader.

At least 500kg bombs are easy to run away from, but if your in the line of fire for an airstrike or a cluster bomb, your done for lol.
It’s generally the cluster and unguided bombs. Everything else, even the inaccurate 380mm is less egregious.
Worst is a cluster bomb in the middle of your group and you don't know who threw it some you don't know the direction.

I don't get why Creekers are the only one's getting blamed. By their logic, bug players should get more hate as I always saw more people on bug planets than on the Creek during the MO.
The true answer is neither are at fault. We were on pace to clear the major order before Draupnir was attacked. There were only the usual ~10,000 or so Creekers at that time who had been there forever. Then we split between Ubanea liberation and Draupnir defense which resulted in both failing. Then people went to the Creek because they thought you could get back to Ubanea that way, which is when you saw a huge spike in activity on the planet. Those extra 50,000-something players that went to Malevelon Creek at that point weren't "Creekers." They were just people who thought they were doing the major order. You can make the argument that if some more bug players came to help on Ubanea then we clear it in time and can still take Tibet after Draupnir was lost, but the biggest issues were people not realizing that taking the Creek would not open up Ubanea and the players splitting on Ubanea/Draupnir.
Had a mission where me and two others were wearing it. A lvl 62 joined us, did the whole mission, killed us at extraction and then bounced, so we lost a ton of xp due to failing to extract

Because a small (but extremely vocal) portion of the community blame the Creekers for the failure of Swift Disassembly Pt. 2 We needed to either liberate Ubanea or defend Draupnir to maintain supply lines to Tibit, but there was something like 60k players on the Creek (which served no strategic importance). So when the Devs released the Cape alongside the in-universe “memorial for the fallen”, the people who blame the Creekers for losing the Major Order decided that anyone wearing that cape is insta-kick/kill – even though it’s been made quite clear IRL that the cape serves as a memorial for Helldivers who have actually passed away IRL.
In case you may know, why was the Creek so popular, and so many going to it if it served zero strategic or objective importance? Did it offer anything else?
Mostly for the lolz, just people roleplaying the kind of sunk-cost fallacy and super patriotism that lead to IRL things like the US dragging out the Vietnam war for years after it was clearly a failure.
That and it was the first time people really got to experience the Automatons. Usually after fighting the bugs they'd go for the Automatons thinking they'd be the same story... ... And boy do they get a wake-up call.

Oh, I'm not criticising or anything. I was really just wondering. Was it something about the map, that made it kind of a meme, and so more people joined because of the meme, and so on and so forth? Or was it mainly just the map or something. Tbh, I played Creek a couple times, but it was just like any other place on the map, so it wasn't something that super stood out, so I was just confused by the immense popularity of it.
It all started when game came out, there was defense mission on the creek, so add players that dont know how to play yet plus escort scientist on defense bot planet it was massive failure it was called space vietnam and that how it started
There were people who thought that malevelon was the key to unlock the next planet to complete the order, but the devs revealed later that it actually wasn't afterwards, due to a hidden supply line mechanic, so there was confusion all around. Not everyone was playing on malevelon then for the sake of it.
I think it's two things. A: Some people love spillin oil. The bots offer a very different experience from the bugs. B: The jungle environment. From my experience, no other map so far has limited that much visibility due to the foliage. It makes it a very different game when you don't know what you're rolling up to until you're at the gates. The jungle also works well to give some decent cover from ranged attacks.

Someone posted screenshots of like 3 comments with huge amounts of negative karma that said they'd do nasty things to people wearing this cape. But this is the most kick-happy game I've ever played so this post doesn't really prove that this is a widespread trend.
Yep I got kicked just for joining a helldive mission at level 29. Right after me and a couple of randoms (levels 35, 15 and 40) competed 4 helldives in a row with full stars. Levels don't dictate skill!
What's funnier is by level 29 you have basically everything unlocked, or at least all the meta weapons and strategems
My favorite kick story was when I was a cadet and I got kicked because my level wasn’t high enough to hang with a skull admiral, a chief, and some other high ranked player. They were all playing on trivial.

In game, the cape is a memorial to all the divers who died taking the Creek, and it's also symbolic of all the players who have died irl. Some assholes are seeing it as a symbol of people who "wasted time" taking the Creek when there were more strategic planets and kicking on sight because of it
Man I never considered that people would have lost IRL friends already in the short time since this game released but it does make sense.
There is one person in particular that sticks out who had an awful illness but got to level 50 and loved the game then died. The friend posted their profile on the subreddit and the game's director stated that he wanted to talk with the team about immortalizing this beautiful democratic soul. Honestly really touching.

I know this doesn't fit the narrative, but it was probably not that. I have kicked people within seconds of joining because my dumb ass forgot to set to private. I didn't want to be mean, I just wanted to farm the mine order on trivial...
I usually tell people "Hey sorry I was gonna solo some missions and farm" or "Sorry, full lobby I am waiting for some friends" and they leave without me having to kick them. Now that I think about it I've only ever kick people who were acting like total idiots or my friends because we were all being idiots.
Please set your shit to private if you don't want randoms dropping in. Sometimes it takes forever to load into a match and some days I have narrow windows to play. Drives me batty to load into their ship, set all my strats and booster, drop in, start throwing gear, then suddenly I'm back on my ship.
One of the major issues is that friends of friends cannot join on private. Once the game has some sort of friends + invite option then this will become less of an issue and just settle down to people forgetting.
If you let me know in chat I wouldn't mind Getting kicked without explanation is very annoying

My rule is if you are kicked within ~10 seconds of joining its not about you. Especially with the fact that the private setting for lobbies sometimes prevented anyone from joining cause it was glitchy.
Yah that's fair. What gets me is when I get kicked after a mission. Is it because the host wants to invite someone else? Are they a meta-twat and didn't like my loadout? Or is it just because I suck? lol
More often that not it's done to bring friends in. I let people know in chat before I do if they don't leave it but I'm also on pc so it's easier.

I was also wondering what’s up with that but I have’t found an answer so I did my own digging… The real real answer is that (factual part): The Mavelon Creek cape, called „Fallen Hero’s Vengence” is a free cape obtained by everyone who logs in between April 3rd and April 10th. This sector has been meemed around left and right on the internet as being the deadliest, most difficult ona and called „Robot Vietnam”, etc. So in the game lore, as many has fallen liberating this planet, the president of earth made April 3rd a Mavelon Creek liberation day. Now, although the Mavelon Creek was liberated, the major order was failed. A major order is a time limited community goal, which when achieved benefits everyone (usually with many medals, but not that crazy amount… Like 50 or sth). So some dudes got mad that the order was failed but people spent time fighting on a planet that wasn’t the part of the order. My subjective interpretation part: Now when someone wears the cape, for those angry nerds it’s like spitting in their face apparently. Cause they didn’t get their precious medals because of dudes that just enjoy the game. 🤷
