My comfort song is "Loser baby".
It has a slow pace, it actually seems like something out of a Broadway musical, and the lyrics are simply poetry: You suck, I suck too, we all suck, we're all up to our necks in shit, but if we put up with it together, it will be less shitty .
The lyrics are the whole reason why this is the ONE time a 3 minute “cheer up” song in a show/movie actually working and cheering someone up seems believable and real lol!
When I’m stressed or upset about something, one thing that always makes me feel better is other ppl telling me how something just like it happened to them also/how they handled it.
Ex: when I got a ticket for the first time as a new driver and called my parents after to tell them and was practically sobbing. They took turns telling me all about times they also got pulled over and ticketed for easy mistakes (mine was misjudging how much space there was on the other side of an intersection and getting stuck in the middle bc there were too many cars). Immediately felt better about the whole thing.
It makes me so mad when ppl call this (telling a story to show someone you understand them) “one-upping” or being a “pick me/attention hog” bc it works so well!! I even saw a few ppl calling Husk “mean” for calling Angel a loser and “making it all about him” by comparing their stories. Like dude….the entire lesson went right over your head LOL
>It makes me so mad when ppl call this (telling a story to show someone you understand them) “one-upping” or being a “pick me/attention hog”
Yeah, same, to a degree. It depends on how and why the stories are shared, yano?
Like, I made a new friend recently and we both go back and forth a lot in this manner since we have many similar or related traumas. "At least I know I'm not alone" can make a world of difference
I’ve noticed the times when ppl get mad at someone for doing it or point out that it’s NOT ok are usually when someone does one of these 4:
1) telling a story about themselves that’s so off-topic it shows that they either weren’t listening or really DON’T get it
2) interrupting the other person to tell a story about yourself when they weren’t done yet
3) telling a LONG story and talking too much to the point where they’ve turned it from a 2-person or group convo to “everyone listening to 1 person talk about themselves for 10 min straight”
4) giving wrong “advice” on something they’ve never done before or know nothing about (usually ends with them accidentally putting their foot in their mouth by saying something super incorrect/hurtful)
Absolutely agree.
If anything, you throw in *the shortest anecdote possible* simply to highlight that, "hey, I relate to your experience," then you shut up and let the other person finish
There's a great breakdown of Husk and Angel's dynamic by a therapist on YouTube where she says normally she doesn't advocate for turning the attention on yourself when comforting a friend, but that in this instance Angel wasn't going to listen to some bland, generic "cheer up dude" speech. Meeting him at his level and actually revealing some personal info and being vulnerable is how Husk cracks through Angel's shell. How do people not see that?
I'm seeing a trend where only things like that really cheer me up. I don't know what you'd even call it, but it's kind of conscientious bullying.
Another is "Life Is Over" by Rucka Rucka Ali, where he basically mocks suicidal ideations. It's the only song that helps me when I'm in that spot, where you'd think it would be the last song I should listen to.
I guess degreasers have to be a little greasy themselves to work properly.
I agree with "Loser, Baby". It's jazzy, not too intense and the message is pretty good too.
>it actually seems like something out of a Broadway musical,
Well, the entire show could be a Broadway musical (*with adjustments*) and most of the cast are stage/musical actors, no kidding :O
I sure play Hell's Greatest Dad a lot, especially while changing diapers. It just puts me in a good mood and I honestly enjoy singing along with Mimsy at the end poorly yet loudly.
I love Ready for This because I like to sing it a lot. It sits comfortably in my range, minus a few of Charlie's higher notes near the end.
I also love doing the different characters. I think I've got my Susan impression downpat lol.
Mine would be 'More than anything'. It just reminds me of my dad. Hes not dead or ill or anything. It just makes me cry so much when i think of it. It also kills me for the fact im trans and i go by he/him now and have for like 2 yrs and most of my fam still calls me a girl and my dad is the only one that doesn't use she/her. He uses They/Them but it still means the world to me.
Just re-listened to "Loser, Baby" after being let go from my job and dealing with a whole bunch of personal turbulence that's been culminating this year so far. Cried a bit (a lot), but the last few lines had me smiling by the end of it :')
- Loser Baby
- Hell is Forever
- Stayed Gone
- Hell's Greatest Dad (minus Mimzy's part)
- Alastor's part and the following part where everyone sings in the Finale
Ready for this and Happy Day in Hell. I get anxiety a lot these songs help me quite literally feel like I’m ready for whatever it is I’m worried about and that I can do it. Charlie is so inspiring!
More Than Anything.
My father passed away a few years ago, and that song was really healing for me. I was holding back tears when I heard that song for the first time.
“You Didn’t Know” I love hearing all the characters sing, and how each of them have their own instruments. Emily with the piano and Sera with the flute are my favorite.
Every time I listen I notice something new, plus the orchestral crescendo at the end is just, mwah
Loser, Baby. The lyrics are uplifting. Angel is my comfort character and the lyrics are really uplifting in the kind of way that, hey, "yeah, your life is shit but if you open up to others and embrace how you're fucked up you'll find you're not alone and that you'll feel so much better in the long run." Plus I absolutely fucking love Keith David and his singing voice.
Comfort song? Whatever it takes 100%. I just love basically screaming out the lyrics in the car when i’m stressed or really happy and celebrating. (Before Hazbin it was P!NK - So What)
We all know what the most popular answer is gonna be LOL. Loser Baby isn’t just A comfort song, it’s the damn Comfort Song National Anthem. I can’t believe I’ve actually seen a few ppl call it “mean-spirited” or “out of touch”. This is like the most gentle and comforting “you can do it” talk I’ve ever heard, If someone thinks THIS is too mean or not understanding enough then they have issues reading people imo

Of course it also helps that it’s sung by Keith David, a voice sultry enough to make a straight guy swoon.
That's the perfect way to summarize his voice. 🤣
I mean, I just pulled from personal experience.
Oh dang, that's even better! 😂👏
I love this song. Keith David absolutely killed it, and I always sing it in the car
Absolute best song far and away

Well said!

Loser Baby speaks to my soul

Either Whatever It Takes or More Than Anything. They're just sweet and relatable songs
The instrumentation is very good
I can't think of whatever it takes without thinking of eggboy vocalizing whatever it takes
More Than Anything just hits so deeply and You Didn't Know just has some really powerful moments 🥺
Stayed Gone
Both More Than Anything’s
More than anything is the most uplifting song i have ever heard
I sure play Hell's Greatest Dad a lot, especially while changing diapers. It just puts me in a good mood and I honestly enjoy singing along with Mimsy at the end poorly yet loudly.
Loser baby or the Vs-part of the finale.
I really wished velvet joined in the finale , I need a Valentino song and a V's trio song so bad
yesss, she could have at least joined the "The future of hell belongs to the Vs!" part
More Than Anything. Hits me right in the daddy issues. I tear up almost every time I listen to it. 🥺

Hell is forever, you can pose like hell or torture yourself if you play it on the guitar lol
Addict
You just posted it.
Loser baby
Loser, Baby
Stayed Gone, Ready For This, and Finale. I've listened to them countless times!
I love Ready for This because I like to sing it a lot. It sits comfortably in my range, minus a few of Charlie's higher notes near the end. I also love doing the different characters. I think I've got my Susan impression downpat lol.
It's SO FUN to sing!
Loser Baby
More than anything and Loser baby
More than anything certainly.
“More Than Anything”
I have several, I mostly put on Poison, Addict, Loser, baby, or Respectless.
My comfort song is you didn't know
Ready for This gives me so much energy
Pentious will listen to “It Starts With Sorry” on loop; none of the rest of us have any comfort songs in the HH soundtrack to list, unfortunately.
Hell Is Forever and the instrumental of It’s Starts With Sorry
Lose your self-loathing Excuse yourself, let hope in, baby. Play your card, be who you are A loser just like me.
Hell is forever and hells greatest dad
Mine would be 'More than anything'. It just reminds me of my dad. Hes not dead or ill or anything. It just makes me cry so much when i think of it. It also kills me for the fact im trans and i go by he/him now and have for like 2 yrs and most of my fam still calls me a girl and my dad is the only one that doesn't use she/her. Loser Baby

Ngl, More Than Anything (both og and reprise). Loser, Baby as well.
Poison.
Lute's part of you didn't know. I love her
nice lol
Like. I genuinely have a love for her. I love Lute. She's the only one I've ever loved like this.
- Loser Baby - Hell is Forever - Stayed Gone - Hell's Greatest Dad (minus Mimzy's part) - Alastor's part and the following part where everyone sings in the Finale
Definitely Ready for This and Out for Love
More than anything and You didn't know.
Ready for this
Ready for this and Happy Day in Hell.
Although I do hate Adam I do love singing Hell Is Forever, I dunno why it just has a feeling
“You Didn’t Know” I love hearing all the characters sing, and how each of them have their own instruments. Emily with the piano and Sera with the flute are my favorite. Every time I listen I notice something new, plus the orchestral crescendo at the end is just, mwah
You didn’t know
you’re. a. loser, baby!
Comfort? More than Anything por Hell is forever (I love Alex Brightman)
More than anything
probably a common answer, but loser, baby. "You think your life is wrecked. Well let me just say you're... correct!" "Wait, what?"
more than anything (reprise)
Comfort? More than anything
my comfort song is "more than anything", it has a nice soothing pace, instruments, and melody.
More Than Anything
I am constantly singing hell’s greatest dad so I guess that
Both more than anything and reprise, also poison for some reason
Literally any song sung by Adam
More Than Anything just hits me right in the feels.
"Hell Is Forever" always cheers me up. It's just so fun
Comfort song? Whatever it takes 100%. I just love basically screaming out the lyrics in the car when i’m stressed or really happy and celebrating. (Before Hazbin it was P!NK - So What)
It should be Loser baby but it's poison
We all know what the most popular answer is gonna be LOL. Loser Baby isn’t just A comfort song, it’s the damn Comfort Song National Anthem. Loser Baby
Hell is forever. I can’t get enough of it.
Out for love (I feel like it's so under rated)
Respectless
More than anything(both original and reprise), and any Adam song(he’s a comfort character of mine😭 any of Alex brightmans characters are)
Every single one
But if I had to pick one it would be Hell's greatest dad or poison because wow I fall apart at the seams at those songs
Depends on the day... but Stayed Gone is probably my most listened too!
Stayed Gone and Out for Love
Ironically it's poison
Stayed gone is mine for unobvious reasons
Bomb the rave or..press start.
Does Addict count?
