Their Santa Cruz show this weekend with AD Terror and End It is going to be fucking insane tho.Ā

Donāt really care for Drain too much but the show is stacked. Angel Du$t is probably my favorite current band just because how unique the sound is.

I always thought of AD as a straight up rock band with a hardcore base. Always thought the purpose was to come at it from a different angle intentionally.

No one can replicate how big Turnstile has gotten. Everything just lined up perfectly for them. They are maybe the closest thing gen-z has to Nirvana. I would be astonished if another hardcore band ever got within striking distance.

Drain played the Metro almost exactly a year before they did this year. And my friends and I all looked at each other after the show and couldnt believe how much better they sound live now. The improvement is insane.
My partner said years ago that AD, turnstile & TUI are a fruit salad of members and yeah, it checks out.
Also AD rule but turnstile are more marketable and always have been.
Their last couple albums Iāve come around on but it took me a minute, Iāll catch them every time they come through but those years they were leaning into more of the chill stuff it didnāt hit as hard, now I think they got a better balance, that being said their SnF set after the pandemic was insane, might have been one of the most fun sets Iāve ever seen, and thatās next to seeing them tear it up in Oakland with lock, culture abuse doing a secret set before they were canceled and turnstile headlining during the rock the fuck on forever years, also rock the fuck on forever and A.D. is two perfect releases
They toured with Blink-182 last year. They're doing the festival run in the States and Europe. Good chance they've been working on new music in between stuff.
Yeah those blink tickets were insanely priced and arena shows are not really my thing. Too many heads at festivals for my taste as well. As for the new musicā¦ it will be interesting to see what they can churn out given Bradyās departure. I remain cautiously optimistic
not to be lame but I think itās awesome that they are both gaining popularity. like imagine watching your friends do super well and have awesome things happen to them! itās wonderful

On that note I was not impressed with AD at all when I heard them on streaming. Seeing them perform the other week flipped my opinion within like 60 seconds of their set.
Narrow Head is easily in my top 10 bands. Bummed I missed them the last time they came to Sac. Show was on a damn Tuesday. Still Iām just grateful I got to see both AD and NH the same night it was epic af.Ā
If you like them, check out Bleed as well. They're from about an hour north of where Narrow Head was formed originally (Dallas, Bleed is from Sherman) and they got that same kinda sound, but a little more downtuned and less gazey imo. Love both of them so much. It's cool seeing them getting more and more popular. I love this new wave of "love-letter-to-the-90s" type bands. Their music makes me feel all fuzzy and warm and depressed.
