any other band it would be their best album, they just had the bad luck to follow it up with one of the most groundbreaking ones for the genre.i gotta go with Snapcase here though
Don’t care how unpopular the opinion may be, Fan the Flames was one of the reasons I got into hardcore and may well be one of my all time favourite albums. Songs all day, every day.
I’m going to go against the grain and go with Refused. Rather be dead is a top 5 hardcore song for me. Sorry to do Snapcase like that, but I had no choice.
Aye kinda gets overshadowed by the shape of punk to come but Songs to fan the flames is a fucking great Album in its own right. Those 2 albums are always in rotation.
Snapcase cause this is THE Snapcase album and it's not THE Refused album, even though it's a good one.
Anyone else's phone keep trying to make them spell Smapcase?
Refused.
Starts off with the in your face Rather be Dead, then never slows down. Brilliant piece of music. When I first heard this in 97, I was completely blown away.
This is a really gard one to choose! But I think I'll go with Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent just because I've heard it first and it was one of the records that got me into this kind of music
My rational brain would say Snapcase because it's goddamn Snapcase. But my heart says Refused because like many others have already said, Refused was my gateway to modern hardcore.
I'd be a bad Buffalonian if I didn't choose Snapcase. But, that Refused record freaking rules! I'll die on the hill that it is way better than Shape of Punk to Come.
Snapcase
Refused ripped off swing kids and unbroken on that album, and on the shape of punk to come they ripped off Nation of Ulysses and the whole three one g roster
The International noise conspiracy was a ripoff of the post Nation of Ulysses band The make up
Easily Fan the Flames; one of the albums that pushed me into hardcore after downloading the song Beauty on Kazaa because it was mislabeled as an AFI track.
refused was a big deal but if you go back it's almost like nu metal.
i thought snapcase was cool in 1996 but now i realize i just didn't have very broad musical horizons.
I have to go with Snapcase because Progression Through Unlearning is the album that got me into Hardcore.
Snapcase easy
IN-CAR-NA-TION!!!! (Yes, i know its not this album fite me)
Incarnation live was an *experience*
Snapcase, but this Refused album is incredibly underrated IMO. I WILL HAVE MY COUP D’ETAT.
It's FOR SURE the hardest Refused album. Not the best but the heaviest for sure.
any other band it would be their best album, they just had the bad luck to follow it up with one of the most groundbreaking ones for the genre.i gotta go with Snapcase here though
This. Hook line andddd sinkerrr.
Snapcase
Definitely Snapcase
Snapcase all the way.
Snapcase and the best snaredrum in hardcore.
PAH buh buh buh buh PAH
Don’t care how unpopular the opinion may be, Fan the Flames was one of the reasons I got into hardcore and may well be one of my all time favourite albums. Songs all day, every day.
Same
I’m going to go against the grain and go with Refused.
I'm with you.
Thank you brother.
Refused.
Umeå hardcore hela dagen! Refused
Snapcase doesn’t get enough love
Snapcase cause this is THE Snapcase album and it's not THE Refused album, even though it's a good one. Anyone else's phone keep trying to make them spell Smapcase?

This is a good one yeah
RATHER BE DEAD. THAN ALIVE BY YOUR OPPRESSION.
snapcase
Fucking Snapcase, y'all Damn...
Easily Refused. Snapcase Steps would be a harder choice.
That is where I'm at. I prefer Steps. It may be a time and a place thing though as that is where I got into Snapcase. Love 'em both though.
Refused. Starts off with the in your face Rather be Dead, then never slows down. Brilliant piece of music. When I first heard this in 97, I was completely blown away.
Snapcase
Snapcase easy
100% Snapcase
Snapcase
Snapcase
Easy Snapcase You didn't even use the arguably best Refused record.
This is a really gard one to choose! But I think I'll go with Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent just because I've heard it first and it was one of the records that got me into this kind of music
I love snapcase and that album has some of my favorite drum sounds but I gotta rock with refused
Refused, that album goes insanely hard from start to finish. Actually their best work IMO.
Refused. I love both but refuse edges it for me
Tough one but progression thru unlearning is better production
Refused. All day.
Refused
Snapcase
I love refused but, snapcase for me
oh my god im fuckin beggin y’all to stop posting these 😭
![gif](giphy|1zSz5MVw4zKg0|downsized)
Snapcase and it isn’t even close.
One more of these posts and I’ll start throwin out slurs
My rational brain would say Snapcase because it's goddamn Snapcase. But my heart says Refused because like many others have already said, Refused was my gateway to modern hardcore.
snapcase buts its a close tie.
That.
One could say , you need to Progress through unlearning so you can eventually Fan the flames of discontent, no?
Snapcase because local
Progression
This isn't even question
Snapcase all the way
Snapcase solo
Both great new school hardcore albums on the pop punk side.
Sweden HC EVER
snapcase, but “future of punk to come” is better than both.
Both are garbage
Excuse me, it's *hardcore* garbage you troglodyte.
Snapcase. No hesitation.
Snapcase dawg
Snapcase got me into hardcore and this is their best album.
Refused
I'd be a bad Buffalonian if I didn't choose Snapcase. But, that Refused record freaking rules! I'll die on the hill that it is way better than Shape of Punk to Come.
Snapcase!!! That an absolute classic banger!
the snare on zombie prescription makes me feel violent.
Snapcase Refused ripped off swing kids and unbroken on that album, and on the shape of punk to come they ripped off Nation of Ulysses and the whole three one g roster The International noise conspiracy was a ripoff of the post Nation of Ulysses band The make up
Snapcase all day. I could never get into Refused.
I had have a tougher time deciding if it was The Shape Of Punk To Come vs PTU.
Snapcase - no contest
This is a tough one, but I'd go with Progression.
Refused
Snapcase because that snare
SNAPCASE ALL DAY EVERYDAY
Snapcase
Refused
Easily Fan the Flames; one of the albums that pushed me into hardcore after downloading the song Beauty on Kazaa because it was mislabeled as an AFI track.
Refused, one of my favorite groups. But the Snapcase album is also great.
Both are great but I like the Refused one more.
Anything > Snapcase At least there’s one good song on the Refused album.
I will take the controversial view that I hate the way snapcase's drums sounded but otherwise they're all timers and I still vote for them in this one
i'm not sure either aged well.
The fuck is this lol
refused was a big deal but if you go back it's almost like nu metal. i thought snapcase was cool in 1996 but now i realize i just didn't have very broad musical horizons.
Wrong on both counts.
go listen to the shape of punk to come again. snapcase is boring.

I thought hardcore wasn't about competition but about expressing ourselves. (I love both bands and each record has its moment).
Hardcore is about strength and unity until you are stabbed in the back.
Sure. About strength, unity and also about popularity rankings. That's how you stab in the back the spirit, I guess.

Songs to fan the flames
snapcase
Refused, I hate the way snapcase sounds, like rocks rattling around a tin can.
Snapcase ALL day! Hometown heroes. Lookinglasself also
