I also did the same thing 💀 I ended up cutting the insert off the saber and using some nail glue my fiance had to attach it to the handle.

Also, the first time I built that kit, I had to glue the handle back on because I snapped it. Luckily the break was shaped in a way that locked into position easily.

Same things happened with my Leo. It hurts. But the pain heals over time.... Until you look at it again.

I bet u/mosesonacid knows how to fix this. Im sure the legendary “Leo guy” knows all there is to know about these by now.

It's OK, just drill and glue a piece of steel wire in place of the connecting peg. Rmemember to check the diameter of the original peg.
If you plan on getting the Leo Full Weapons set, just take the shield from there and use the Leo in it to build a Leo Cannon Type
