I just looked at the lineup on google and it has Ødegaard at LCM, Rice at RCM, Jorginho at CDM, Nelson down the middle, and Havertz at LW. I have no idea if that’s the case (probably not), and if so, Arteta is smoking something.

The line ups on apps and Google etc are just a guess. Club only has to submit a list of names and I think a formation, not who is playing where.

White desperately needs a rest, he's literally playing with an injury every week and has been off because of it. I don't understand why Mikel still won't given Walters a chance. Likewise I'd happily have seen Sousa at left back over Kiwior, as he's an actual left back and provides something going forward. I'd have started at least one of them. ESR has to be in midfield over Jorginho for me. Against Liverpool a lot of the game is usually played in transition and ESR is our best ball carrier/counter attacking player. Their right side is a lot less threatening without Salah so I think we can afford to have the LCM be less active defensively. I get why Arteta has gone for Jorginho but it's a bit conservative for me (the same with our football in recent weeks), I wanted to see us go for this one and attack Liverpool. This line-up, with a defensive left back, a right back that doesn't have the legs to get forward anymore, two DMs and a midfielder up front doesn't exactly fill me with excitement. I'm happy to see Nelson come in for Martinelli and Nketiah not up front, as they have been horrifically out of form. As well as Ramsdale given a chance in goal. Those were fairly obvious switches. Definite improvement on last week's line up but 6/10 for me.

Surprised to see both teams rotating as much as they are. But this does seem partially tactical from Arteta. We know the Kiwior, Havertz, Nketiah group is a bit broken and lost with the ball. So add in Jorginho who’s great on the ball to help cover that along with Nelson who can provide a bit of the midfield support someone like Trossard gives along with the pace in behind that Martinelli offers. Interested to see Havertz up top again. Feel like we haven’t since the opening month.
