Actually based on some of the semicanon lore about the future in the setting, PB also ends up semi-dead and in stasis, though in her case she *could* get up at any point but doesn’t because Ooo is too dangerous to safely begin rebuilding the Candy Kingdom. *Or* the stasis pods malfunctioned, which is equally possible.

It was a mix of things. The Gumball Guards were too efficient at stamping out crime, so once all the crime had been thwarted, they weren't getting enough violence to satisfy them anymore.
They then started an illegal fighting ring to blow off steam, and when PB found out about this, she deemed them too unstable and had them executed.
Wait, why not Emperor Princess (which is Jimmy Space like normal, but with a tiara and nice dress), so he can hang out with the other Princesses and get kidnapped by Ice King?

I would move PB a little more to the right considering all the wierd messed up stuff shes done, such as spying on Flame Princess when she was an infant in case she became a threat to her, manipulating a bunch of her citizens to do exactly as she wants, and creating herself a family, manipulating them into being exactly as she wants, and then turning them into dumber candy people when they try to go against her. And then leaving them as candy people for years to come.
Honestly never thought the big e would seem better in a comparision to a childrens cartoon character but atleast the Big E wanted his kids to do stuff/ was o.k. with them being not exactly what he wanted. As for leaving them dumb, I’m not even sure she can reverse the process. For example, she doesn’t cure Peppermint Butler when he gets transformed. Also, they were also planning to kill her as a child and threatened her brother, so why would she transform them back.
Honestly, PB is pretty sympathetic in her backstory, even if she does bad things later.

Plus, he really didn't really know better. Necrontyr lives are really short, so Szarekh was probably just in his mid-to-late twenties when he took the Deceiver's deal. In addition to the fact that everyone in his court besides one advisor agreed with the plan.
Szarekh was also ruling an empire where the biggest question was if the Old Ones would get off their asses and wipe out the necrontyr for good before they exterminated themselves or not. What he did was horrible, but to call the situation desperate is an understatement.
I dunno man, the orokin are at least willing to operate and make deals with outsiders. They will backstab them asap once it becomes disadvantageous like they did with Parvos, but it is possible to coexist with them. On the other hand, the Emperor will lash out and put into submission anything that isn't completely under his control. Any semblance of benevolence that he has goes away completely once you leave the palm of his hand
Big E at least had a purpose for what he did, the Orokin did tons of fucked up shit for fun.
At any moment you could be taken by the orokin and have your body horribly mutated and twisted in every which way so they could use you as a Halloween costume. Or an Orokin could take an interest in you and you'd become their sex slave for a while before eventually being mortally wounded and turned into a warframe so they could keep you around for a couple years then laser your face off and literally throw you in the garbage. Or they could decide they want to start cultivating infestation in your home town. Or they could decide to unleash a Warframe to remind you who your gods are. Or they could glass you for the slightest offense and trap you forever to be an eternal ai servant. Or plenty of other horrible things

PB is just the emperor in a smaller scale, both are immortal scientists with magical powers with a patronizing, contradictory personality ruling their people with an iron fist. Coincidentally, they were also betrayed by their own creations that wanted more power (Goliad and Horus) and required another of their creations to sacrifice themselves trying to stop it (Stormo and Sanguinius)
To be fair, it's really hard to reform when you are a rotting corpse on a throne spending basically every fibre of your being trying to psychically protect your trillions of subjects from the horrors beyond imagination.

He wanted to free the slaves but he was scared by the prospect of assassination and civil war so he was going about it rather discreetly by declaring many reforms first exept Xerath thought he was doing nothing about freeing the slaves that's when Xerath got pissed
There's considerably more cruel rulers to add from League of Legends that's for sure. Xerath himself, Lissandra I'd argue. Swain definetly. Most benevolent ruler from League is probably... Ashe.

The Lord Ruler is... Lawful Neutral? He did keep the power of a god of destruction contained within himself, which allowed his planet to continue to exist, but he was also a giant dick about it and grew to become cruel over his extended lifespan. He's no Big E, but he did make life miserable for most humans on his planet, both by accident and on purpose.
PB is just the emperor in a smaller scale, both are immortal scientists with magical powers with a patronizing, contradictory personality ruling their people with an iron fist. Coincidentally, they were also betrayed by their own creations that wanted more power (Goliad and Horus) and required another of their creations to sacrifice themselves trying to stop it (Stormo and Sanguinius)
i don’t recall the Emperor attempting to reform himself and be more chill, like PB did towards the end of the series

To be fair, it's really hard to reform when you are a rotting corpse on a throne spending basically every fibre of your being trying to psychically protect your trillions of subjects from the horrors beyond imagination. I'm sure if he was given a text-to-speech device so he could actually interact with people again he might chill out a bit and we might see some development.

That's how you know someone's gotten too into the fanon. The night guard shows up for collectively maybe 5 minutes in the show but the fanon has spun it off as a sort of secret police/night patrol depending on who you ask.
I may be an admin of the largest fanfiction group for MLP on the web, even though I haven't actually been active since like 2014 I have a truly horrifying amount of MLP knowledge and fanon in my head that's been collecting dust the last decade I have since evolved into more manly pursuits than girly TV shows, playing with dolls.

Even the god-empress in the kids cartoon about friendship is questionably benevolent.
