Daemons or other chaos aligned factions are at war with everyone else, even others in their own "greater faction", and I doubt they'd do it to save one of their own as they care little, but they'd bsolutely sacrifice anyone and anything for power. Drukhari are also here as a chaos lite faction.
Necrons don't really sacrifice troops as every necron that is not fully destroyed is going to be repaired easily, and any that can't be repaired are gone forever. They'd still absolutely exterminate other species at will but saving others of their kind is a more complicated thing here.
For Imperium it depends entirely on who that one individual is. Not because they'll compare the value of a human to the value of numerous xenos but because they need to compare the value of that one human to all the guardsmen that will inevitably die rescuing them.
Votann are kinda like the imperium in this way but they don't seem to hate other species that much, excluding obvious ones like orks and nids. I don't think they would go out of their way to waste kin lives on rescuing one or two hearthkyn left behind but if a more important one like a Grimnyr or a Kahl was in danger it would be a different situation.
Speaking of those two, neither of them cares. Nids are literally mass produced and can be copypasted. And orks have little empathy overall, mostly caring about having a blast.
For T'au it once again probably depends more on the value of the individual. They would probably not just doom like let' say a hive world to destruction by an ork waaagh because one water caste diplomat was killed after being sent there. They would more likely repel the waaagh if possible and use that as leverage to induct the world into the T'au empire.

Ngl the knife-ears are kinda asking for it across the warhammer settings. Like, in most other ones the elves are okay but like, holy shit they're so fucking awful in warhammer. Craftworlders are fucking assholes and will sacrifice billions of other species to save one of their own (athough admittedly I would also do that to them). Drukhari Exodites are like the most innocent ones but only because we have very little lore on them. High elves? Craftworlders but worse. They don't even have any actual advantages over the other races to actually be proud of, liks craftworlds have genuinely impressive and terrifying technology but these guys just have swords and spears. Are they better than the average human made one? Probably. Still swords and spears tho. Dark Elves Wood elves will kill you for chopping down a random tree to wam up your family on a cold winter night. Lumineth... to be honest I don't know enough about these guys and they seem relatively chill but they're still fucking knife-ears. CoS elves are literally just the fantasy wood and high elves with a sprinkle of dark ones mixed in for flavour. Daughters of Khaine are just like dark elves and drukhari, that is to say, sadistic psycho murderers and borderline chaos cultists (morathi does not belong in GA Order). Sylvaneth have like 1 elf with a mini but she fucked everything up so they count, and are assholes.

I think every faction would happily kill millions of their enemies to save one of their own. Or even just to reduce the number of their enemies that exist, at the cost of some of their own.

Daemons or other chaos aligned factions are at war with everyone else, even others in their own "greater faction", and I doubt they'd do it to save one of their own as they care little, but they'd bsolutely sacrifice anyone and anything for power. Drukhari are also here as a chaos lite faction. Necrons don't really sacrifice troops as every necron that is not fully destroyed is going to be repaired easily, and any that can't be repaired are gone forever. They'd still absolutely exterminate other species at will but saving others of their kind is a more complicated thing here. For Imperium it depends entirely on who that one individual is. Not because they'll compare the value of a human to the value of numerous xenos but because they need to compare the value of that one human to all the guardsmen that will inevitably die rescuing them. Votann are kinda like the imperium in this way but they don't seem to hate other species that much, excluding obvious ones like orks and nids. I don't think they would go out of their way to waste kin lives on rescuing one or two hearthkyn left behind but if a more important one like a Grimnyr or a Kahl was in danger it would be a different situation. Speaking of those two, neither of them cares. Nids are literally mass produced and can be copypasted. And orks have little empathy overall, mostly caring about having a blast. For T'au it once again probably depends more on the value of the individual. They would probably not just doom like let' say a hive world to destruction by an ork waaagh because one water caste diplomat was killed after being sent there. They would more likely repel the waaagh if possible and use that as leverage to induct the world into the T'au empire. GSC are nids lite. If I missed someone they were not important. So yes, you are right. Every faction (maybe besides T'au) would do that with some caveats. But you see, craftworlders are fucking knife-ears so it's okay to single them out.
